Chapter 42: Estranged Wife

~Trinity's POV~

I was sleeping pretty good when I heard Landon starting to cry. I put him in the passenger seat so I could have easier access at getting to him and so Evan could stretch out on the backseat.

"It's okay pookie, mommy's here." I said quieting him down as I gave him his bottle and he began to drift back to sleep.

I yawned and stretched my arms as I look back on the backseat but there was no Evan. I turned the overhead light on as the only thing on the seat was his blanket and pillow

"Evan." I said growing frantic as I looked around. I unlocked the door and got out as I thought I heard a noise coming from the bathrooms

"Evan!" I yell as a strong hand covers my mouth and a cold, metal gun was placed at my temple

"I found you," My heart sunk to the pit of my stomach as I wanted to scream and cry as I heard him take the safety off the gun
"Till death do us part, do you remember that?" He asked in a scary calm voice as hot fresh tears began to roll down my cheeks

"I certainly remember it. I told you before, if I can't have you, no one can and you will never take my children away from me. I most definitely love you, but I won't have you walking out on me." He said as he kissed my cheek

"Goodbye my love."

The sound of a loud gunshot woke me up as I jumped straight up, sweat dripping down my face and my heart was racing.

I turned the overhead light on and looked back to see Evan asleep. I blew a sigh of relief as I turned the light off, wiped my forehead and calmed myself down.

It had just turned 3am as I started up the car and headed back on the interstate. We reached Mobile, Alabama in under 5am as I found a nice Airbnb I could stay at for a few days until I figure out what I'm going to do next

"Evan wake up, you can go inside and sleep." I said lightly shaking him awake as he scrunched up his face and yawned while rubbing his eyes

"Are we at home?"

"No, I'll tell you where we are later, but I need you to get up." I said as he got out of the car and placed his head on my leg while I was getting Landon out of the car

"Thank you so much for letting us stay on such short notice, I promise we won't be here but a few days." I said to the owner as he handed me the keys

"It's no problem, are you sure I can't get you some help." He asked with concern

"Oh no no, please don't I promise everything's fine,"

"Okay, I won't force anything on you, but if you need anything don't hesitate to call."

"I will and thank you so much." I said as I walked to the front door carrying the car seat and Evan was holding on to my shirt.

We walked in the house as I immediately locked it behind me. I walked to the back hallway as without hesitation, Evan climbed over into bed.

I smiled as I bent down and kissed his forehead, "I love you." I said as he whispered it back and I eased his door up a bit

I went to another room across the hall from the master bedroom as I set up a portable crib for Landon since he's been sleeping in his seat for two days

As soon as I laid him there he rolled over and drifted off to sleep. I too was still tired after all the driving but my paranoia was driving me nuts as I had closed all the curtains and double checked that all windows and doors were locked.

I even went back outside to pull the car into the garage so I'll know for sure that I'm safe. I went to my bedroom and plopped down on the bed and quickly went to sleep.

Later That Night

~Sebastian's POV~

"I just don't understand how you can be so calm right now." Simon said to me as I nonchalantly shrugged my shoulders

"At least this time I'm not wondering why she left me."

"So you're okay with her leaving?"

"No, but it's what she does."

"What if she leaves you for good this time?" He asked as I chuckled

"Not an option, we've already discussed what would happen if she tried to leave me for good."

"You wouldn't dare do that to her, would you?"

"No, but I won't pretend that I'm not a spiteful prick and I would make her life hell to where she would beg me to stop and ultimately come back. Trinity knows how much I love my boys and I'll do everything in my power to make sure that my boys will remain with me. I know that sounds cruel but my children are my life, and if Trinity leaves me then by default she'll take the boys with her and I just won't allow it. She's the only woman I love and I put up with her because she makes me happy and she's all I want."

"You're the only person I know that can sound loving and hateful in the same sentence." He said as I laughed

"Hey, what can I say, I'm one of a kind."

"Mr. Moretti, your dinner is ready."

"Thank you, Edenia." I said getting up

"Wait, dinner? When did you hire a chef to cook for you now?"

"It's Trinity's week to cook and I'm definitely not doing it, especially since it's just me now." I said sitting down at the table as I was having steak with onion and garlic, sliced potatoes, corn and toast with a glass of red wine

"So what are you gonna do about Trinity?" He asked me as I cut into my steak

"I'm gonna let her enjoy her little fun and when I get ready, I'll find her, I always do."

How long will it be before Sebastian finds Trinity?

Will she even want to go back with him?
