Ashton: You smiled, taking in the smell of the great outdoors. It's been quite some time since you last left the house, and you've never really been the outdoors kind of person. You prefered being locked up in your room scrolling through your dashboard the whole day, or just sleeping in. "Come on," You heard Ashton say, as he wrapped his fingers around your wrist, pulling you over to the nearby bench. He stretched his arms, making a little sound as he did, making you giggle. He laughed along with you, and restedhis arm onto the back rest of the bench. "I just love the outdoors," Ashton grinned as he took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of the park. It smelled a lot like fresh air and sausages, because there was a family nearby having a picnic with sausages. You smiled, shaking your head as you turned to the left to watch little children run around, chasing each other as they giggled really loud. Your eyes caught a familiar head of blonde hair, making your eyes widen and your chest tighten. "Ashton? Y/N?" His voice rang in your ears, and the aching in your chest began to worsen. Ashton shot you a glance, and you just gave him a slight nod, mouthing an "I'm fine," He shook his head and furrowed his eyebrows as your ex appeared in front of you, with his arm wrapped around a blonde girl's waist. "How have you two been? It feels like it's been so long," your ex smiles, nodding at the two of you. You knew he wasn't doing it to rub the fact that he has moved on in your face, because your ex boyfriend was a genuinely nice guy. He just wanted to see how you were doing, to see if you've moved on from your breakup three months ago. The answer was still no though, you knew that you still loved him deep down, and that he was breaking you right now, ripping you into tiny shreds just by appearing in front of you like this. "I've been okay, I guess," you replied, refusing eye contact with him. After a few moments of awkward silence, he finally spoke up once again, "Well, it was nice seeing you two again. I'm gonna leave now, see ya later guys!" He smiled as he turned around, pulling his new girlfriend along with him. Your lip quivered with every step he took, and when he was finally out of sight, you broke down crying, tears streaming endlessly down your face. Ashton pulled you into his chest, wrapping his arms around your body as he began to stroke your hair softly. "Don't cry, please don't cry. I hate when I see you cry," he kept repeating as you continued to soak his shirt with your tears. "It hurts Ash, he doesn't even know how painful it is," you choke out, shaking your head. He stopped stroking your hair for a moment, and finally continued after a while. "What if I say I can take away your pain, if you let me?" He asked out of nowhere. You were slightly confused by his question, so you pulled away from him to take a look at his face. You hiccuped, "Wh-what do you mean?" He cast his gaze away from you, and you noticed his cheeks turn a light pink color, "I-I meant that I can take your pain away if you let me. I will love you way more than he ever did," Your eyes widened upon your best friend's statement, making you realize that this was sort of a confession. You stared at him wide-eyed, and the expression on his face was just warm and gentle, you couldn't help but smile as he wiped away the tears from your eyes with his thumbs. Ashton was genuine and sincere, and he didn't seem like he was kidding at all. You pressed a kiss onto his nose and giggled, "Well then, please do love me more than he did." He erupted into a fit of giggles, before pressing his lips onto yours, holding you tightly in his arms.

Michael: "Oh fuck," you muttered when you caught a glimpse of your ex boyfriend's face. Michael noticed and immediately pulled you closer, wrapping his arm around your waist. "What are you-" "Just play along," Michael hissed under his breath, as your ex approached your twosome. His lips twitched into a smirk as he shoved his hands in his pockets, "Look what the cat dragged in. I missed you so much sweetheart," he reached out to touch your face, but Michael slapped his hand away.  "Don't you fucking dare touch my girlfriend," Michael growled, making your ex chuckle as he glanced at the two of you in pure amazement. "Wow, I literally cannot believe this," he turns to you, jabbing a finger in your direction. "You used to tell me that there could never be anything between you and this dickhead over here. You say you were only just friends," you looked away from him, swallowing as you did your best to compose yourself in front of him. He can't see through you, he had to believe you were in love with Michael so he'd leave you alone. "Well, things change, I'm sorry." You took a deep breath, turning your head so you were looking at him directly. You were quite surprised when your voice came out confident, you actualy believed yourself for a second. "Psh, fine. I never loved you anyway," he scowled, spinning on his heel, walking away from the two of you. Once he was out of sight, you exhaled, not even realizing that you were holding in a breath. You scratched the back of your neck, turning to look at your best friend. His jaw was clenched, and there was still some visible dislike in his eyes. You knew well that he never really liked your ex boyfriend, he constantly reminded you that he wasn't good for you, but you never listened to him at all. In the end, you had to find out the hard way when he went out to cheat on you with one of your friends. "Michael, you can drop the act now, he's gone," you mumbled as you reached out to remove his arm around you. He held onto your wrist, stopping your movements with pursed lips, "He's still gonna come back. Let's just continue with the act until we're sure he wouldn't try anything anymore," he suggests, narrowing his eyes at the distance. He pulled you even closer as he pressed a kiss onto the top of your head, "Play along. He's just right behind us, let's keep moving." You decided to just go with it, because Michael clearly just wanted to protect you. You spent the entire day with Michael, exchanging sweet words every now and then, planting kisses on each other's faces, giving each other hugs - honestly, if you could just see yourself now, you could actually be convinced that you two were together. He became a really sweet "boyfriend" by buying you some ice cream, he even wiped the ice cream that got smeared on your face with a huge smile. He also slipped his fingers in between yours, holding your hand as you would go from shop to shop, looking at all the shoes and the clothes you could picture yourself in. He would even plant a kiss on your head every now and then for no absolute reason at all, making you blush beet red. The thing about it was that you actually enjoyed your time as Michael's girlfriend, even if it was fake. Your time with Michael passes by all too quickly, and you find yourself suddenly wanting to be more than just best friends with him. Michael definitely made you feel loved, he made you feel even better than your ex boyfriend ever did. "I had fun at our little fake date today," you tell him as he drops you off at your house. By now, you were leaning on the front door as you stared up at his beautiful pale face. He chuckled, scratching the back of his neck sheepishly, "It's no problem. But," he cats his eyes downwards, onto the ground instead of you. "I-it doesn't have to be fake, though," he continues, a light pink streak making it's way across his face. A giggle escaped your lips when you realized just how cute he was, and you nodded. "That's a great idea, how about we start by taking me out for dinner tomorrow night?" You asked, biting down on your bottom lip. Michael looked up at you with twinkling eyes, and he immediately wrapped his arms around you, whispering, "You don't know how long I've wanted to hear you say that though."
