Ashton: "She'll never notice how you stop and stare, whenever she walks by,"

"Honestly though, I need to study for the history test tomorrow," You slammed your locker shut, turning to your curly haired best friend with a frown. "So, I'm gonna have to miss out on Wednesday movie night. Sorry Ash," Ashton's lips twitched upward, flashing you one of his signature smiles and he reached out to place his large hand on top of your head. "Don't worry about it, squirt, you can just make it up to me next time," He messed up your hair, laughing as he did so but you were definitely not amused. You swatted his hand away, scowling as you tried to tame your hair using your fingers, with little success. "Shut up, I'm not that small, asshat." Ashton stopped laughing and messing up your hair, and your eyebrows met in confusion. Peering up at your best friend, you see the expression you've seen way too many times before and your frown deepens. The look he had on right now was the look, that one look that he would never, ever wear when he looks at you. It was the look of someone who loved another deeply, and you knew exactly why he was wearing that look. You followed his gaze, and you sighed when you finally caught sight of the girl Ashton has been crushing on forever. You turned right back around, seeing Ashton follow the blonde girl with his eyes and shook your head. You've grown so used to not being noticed by the guy you've loved for so long, that you've grown quite numb to the aching feeling in your chest whenever things like this happen. You just wished that for once, Ashton would notice the one girl who's been there for him forever, and stop wasting his time paying attention to the girls who wouldn't bother giving him a second glance.

Michael: "I just wanna show you, she don't even know you, she's never gonna love you like I want to,"

You've pretty much blocked out everything Michael has been saying for the past ten minutes, but it wasn't like you were missing much. You've pretty much zoned out after the three-minute mark, since he doesn't look like he's going to stop talking about the new girl he's been crushing on. You weren't interested in listening to the boy you love ramble on and on, about how much he likes someone but he doesn't need to know that. All the while, you've been biting your tongue so you could hold back all the unnecessary things you want to say, while nodding every now and then to trick him into thinking you were still listening. "-but I don't get why she doesn't notice me," Michael sighed, running his fingers through his dyed black hair. Those piercing green eyes were just staring right back at you, and you pulled on the hem of your shirt to stop yourself from breaking into a grin. "Maybe it's because there's someone else out there that's meant for you. Maybe she isn't that one girl, which is why she wouldn't notice you." You shrugged, flipping your hair behind your shoulder. And I'm right here, you fucking idiot. Open your damn eyes and realize already. Michael pouted, "You're my best friend, you're supposed to help me get her to notice me." And have you break my heart into a million tiny pieces just because you wanted me to help you? Not a chance buddy. "Nah, I just don't think she's good for you, ya know? Plus, I heard she had a thing with that blonde dude who sits next to me in English." Michael's face fell, and he mumbled something incoherent under this breath in disappointment. He heaved out a long sigh, rubbing his face with his hands. If only he could see that no one else could love him as much as you do, then you wouldn't have to hide the way you feel about him like this and you didn't have to fake smiles, tell white lies and keep it all inside. If only he could see just how much he meant to you.

Calum: "And all I think about is how to make you think of me, and everything that we could be,"

The brown eyed boy in front of you was staring into your eyes intently, his large hand reaching up to cup your right cheek. You could feel the warmth of his hand on your cheek spreading all throughout your body, which caused your heart to race even more. He smiled, as his free hand found its way onto your hip and began rubbing circles there with his thumb. The small gesture was enough to drive you crazy, and give you goosebumps. He started to lean in slowly, his gaze fixated on your lips and you swallowed, your eyes fluttering shut as you anticipated what was to come. You could feel his breath fanning on your cheek, which caused the goosebumps to make yet another appearance. His lips were only a mere inch away from your own, and you decided to be the one to decrease the remaining distance. Leaning in, your lips were about to claim his when a high pitched voice sounded in your ear. Your eyes opened, and you were face to face with your best friend, who was peering at you with an annoyed expression. "Seriously? Again?" She groaned, throwing her hands up in the air in exasperation. You gave her a sheepish smile, tucking loose strands of hair behind your ear, "Sorry." She shook her head, "What were you daydreaming about this time?" Your best friend knew all about your attraction for Calum Hood, and you've pretty much lost count of the number of times you've spaced out because of all your daydreaming. But you couldn't help it, the only way for Calum to notice you was if you imagined it to happen. It wasn't like it would happen in real life, he was Calum - the popular jock-slash-bassist and you were just you. He didn't even know you exist, and the only few times he's talked to you was to ask a question or to borrow a pen. "Do I really have to tell you everything in detail?" You chuckled, resting your head on your palm. "All I ever think about is how to make him think of me, and all the things that we could do and everything we could be together."

Luke: "And you can't see me wantin' you the way you want her, but you are everything to me,"

"This sucks," You remarked, repeatedly bumping the back of your head on your locker. Your best friend of three years chuckled, cocking his head at the sight of you looking so distressed. "Shut up," You narrowed your eyes into slits, shooting a middle finger at the rather pale boy. "That hurts, and I didn't even sat anything," Michael said, the corner of his lips pulled into a smirk. You rolled your eyes, smacking him on the chest, earning an "Ow," from the green eyed boy. "I'm not in the mood right now, Michael," Michael's eyebrows shot upwards, his green eyes searching your own before coming to a conclusion. "And I think I know why - it's because of Luke, isn't it?" Ding ding ding, we have a winner! Groaning, you began rubbing your eyes with the heels of your hands in frustration. "Yes, kinda. I mean, he didn't do anything wrong, it's just..." The thoughts of a certain blonde boy with gorgeous ocean blue eyes and a smile that could make your heart run wild filled your head, making you pause for a little bit. But then, these thoughts were replaced with the memory from earlier, the way that same boy stared longingly at a gorgeous brunette who walked past. You remembered how he looked when he stared at the girl, it was pretty much the look of someone who desperately wanted something but couldn't ever get it. It was practically the same look you wear every single time he walks by, every single time he talks to Michael, every single time you see his face around the school or even in Michael's house. Every damn time. "You know, I'm still practically invisible to him despite us both being best friends with you. He means everything to me, and I don't really know how and when exactly that happened, but from that moment on, I realized that I am so fucking screwed," Michael pulled you in a tight embrace, and just let you continue rambling as you could feel tears prickle in your eyes. "I just... it hurts that he can't see me wanting him the way he wants her. And he's the only person who managed to make me fall this hard without doing anything, he's.. my everything and it just sucks that he doesn't, and won't ever feel the same way." You could feel Michael's head on top of yours, and he rubbed your back to comfort you. He just let you cry right there in his arms, as you try to expel all the frustration and hurt you've bottled up inside because of a certain blue eyed boy.
