"Father....Will you really...really treat me better?"
This is the nth time Dwayn asks.

The King is about to climb his carriage. Exhausted in playing such a good father to Dwayn the whole day.
The King us forced to look back, smile brightly and nod.

"Of course. Tomorrow, come to the palace. I will announce your engagement formally in the party. Bring your fiancee, Margarita Frost."

Dwayn looks like he wants the King to stay more and didn't answer immediately.

The King grind his teeth but refuse to show his irritation.
He went down the carriage and walks to Dwayn.

"You needy brat, I told you I will treat you better from now on."

Dwayn frowns.
"What if....you didn't? After you engage me and Margarita Frost, you will start ignoring me again?"

The King is irritated.
He never know this brat is this clingy.

"Then what do you want so you will be at eased?"

"Will you do it if I ask?"

The King sighs.
"Everything for my son."

Dwayn eyes sparkles.
"I want a larger palace than Diego!"

"This..."

Dwayn looks sad.
"You can't? Sooner...Diego will become the King and reside in the Main palace anyways. My palace is so shabby. I am your first born.....People said .....you hate me so you gave such a small palace."

The King grind his teeth again.
"It's just a palace."

"So...so you can't?"

"Fine. Tomorrow, I will ask a constructor to make your palace grander,happy?"

Dwayn smiles brightly. He nods.
"Thank You, Father." He said and hugs him.

Demetri is shock with the hug.
Dwayn saw him stiffened and let go.

"I...I'm sorry father. I am just too excited."

Demetri chuckles.
He rubs Dwayn's head.
"It is fine. Be more spoiled. This is what father owed you."

Dwayn smiles and nod.

"First Prince is still waving his hand toward our destination." The King's attendant said.

The King is scowling so heavily.
"Who cares? What a stupid son."

"Actually, his reaction is normal for an abandoned person. What ever they experience when they were showed a small appreciation and love. They will be easily fooled." The attendant said.

The King smiles.
"Heh. So it appears that Dwayn is still a child. I worried for a second that he will be hard to deal with but...it's surprisingly easy."

The attendant nods.
"But he is still suspicious with you, your highness. I can tell he is not completely head over heels. It is not so easy to use him like this."
The attendant said

"He will be mine after I gave him enough love as a father,right? In th3 end of the tunnel, I am still his father. He will have to comply to me."

"Using a stick toward the smart prince will be useless and it might back fire. Let's use the carrot then." The attendant approved.

"Your highness, his majesty is not visible anymore." Three said.

Tears are falling down Dwayn's eyes.
He is smiling but tears are nonstop falling down

"Say Three..." he said.
"Am I just everybody's tool?"

Three grits his teeth and hugs him.
"Forgive my impudence! Let this servant hold you for a while."

Dwayn didn't say anything.
Of course he never believe a single thing his father told him.
He is also calmly calculating.
But he suddenly feel so sad that tears won't stop falling down.
It was so easy to love him.....so why did he not?
