Duke's Daughter Margarita Frost Reporting for Duty

The Duke fake a cough and then took a cup of tea and sip it a bit.
Put the cup down and trace the mouth of the tea cup.

"It appears I am dead."

Everyone stops talking and even the other guests all sweats.

Margarita looks away.
Miguelito took a cup of tea and drink it slowly.

The Prince sighs.
"It is just a simple bickering Duke Frost. Do not take it to heart."

"Oh. I see." The Duke looks at Emely.
"Very beautiful and elegant. Someone that 'truly' deserves the prince." He said smiling.

Lady Emely looks down.
It is a compliment but why does it felt like shw was being mock?

The tone is just normal.
There is no smirk.
Yet his eyes are cold.

Prince Diego tags Lady Emely's dress.

"Lady Emely," Prince said softly. He knows she is intimidated but she can't ignore a Duke for a personal issues.

Emely looks up again and nod.
"Thank you for your compliment."

"I remember the King said in his letter that your engagement with my daughter is not yet annulled officially yet here you two are." The Duke touches his chin.
"Argente Family really has a huge gut."

Lady Emely stood up in a hurry.
The table wobble and the tea stains the Prince clothes.
"Your Highness!" She went to get a hanky and wipe but the Prince refuse her hand.

They are in love but in public they are still not officially engage. Touching is not appropriete. Not in front of the Duke.

"What a refined act."
Duke said and sip his tea.

Lady Emely is dumbfounded.
She doesn't know that the King doesn't agreed of her as of now.
They already become a couple in the eyes of the people.
How can the King still refuse to accept it?

Diego looks at the red eyes girl and feel pity for her.
She is kind and lovely but everyone is bullying such a woman.
He clenched his fist.

"We showed you something disgraceful. We will leave for now." Prince said and hold Emely's soft hand.

Lady Emely smiles and wipes her eyes.
As long as the Prince loves her. She will be victorious in the end.

"Prince, I will ask the king to annul your engagement with my daughter with all the power I can. We can't always be humiliated like this by your likes." The Duke said.

Prince Diego paused and looks back.
"That's what I want the most." Then his eyes went to stare at Margarita that has a faint smile in her lips.
"I believe that Lady Emely is the one for me."

"Pfftt--" Margarita can't stop it in time and a burst of laugh escape her lips.

Everyone stares at her.
Margarita wipes her eyes and her face became serious.

"Of course, you two are meant for each other." She said and waves her hand.

Prince Diego scowl and left.

"That is really disrespecting me." Duke Frost said shaking his head.
"I will not go and work for a week. Saying I am so hurt that the Prince Insulted me and my daughter and become unable to work properly. What do you think,X?"

X nods.
"I think 2 weeks to heal the Duke's trauma is necessary."

"I see. 2 weeks indeed."

Miguelito looks at them and then look at Margarita.

"Is he your fiance?"

"Unfortunately,"

Miguelito nods then ate some bite size cake.

"He doesn't look like someone that will become a King someday."
Miguelito continued.

Pfftt--

Margarita once again almost let her loud laugh escape.
