Jackson and I decided to take a jog before we go to work.

Savannah: oh my god. I– I haven't been this– this tired... since Nat– was born.

Jackson: n-now I k-know why I d-don't do this. You're lucky– I love my kids– enough t-to– do this.

I hand Jackson a water bottle then start drinking my own.

Savannah: you know, I've known you all my life. And with that body of yours, I still find it shocking how winded you get from running.

Jackson: hey, you love my body.

I smirk as Jackson wraps his arms around my waist and starts kissing my neck.

Savannah: of course, I do. Come on, we should get back to the house.

Jackson: yeah, have fun running back. I'm taking a cab.

Savannah: you suck!

I start running back to the house with Cathy. Once Jackson met me at the house, we shower quickly then change then we drive to the hospital. We walk into the ER and I walk up to Owen while Jackson goes to the front desk.

Savannah: hey. You're here early.

Owen: yeah, an MVC came in last night after you and Kepner left. The driver had an open-book pelvis, so I stuck around.

Savannah: and you didn't call me? That's rude. Wait, you've been here all night?

A nurse comes up behind me.

Nurse: Medevac just called. Hypotensive patient en route, possible multi-trauma.

Owen: alright, page Yang.

I look at Owen.

Owen: Pierce– page Pierce and Grey and ask them to meet me at the helipad. Can you finish up here?

Savannah: yeah, sure.

Owen runs towards the elevator.

Savannah: he's dying inside.

Jackson: ah, he seems fine.

Savannah: well, sure. He's a soldier. He's stuffing everything down, but he needs a buddy. You could be his buddy, baby.

Jackson: nope.

Savannah: oh, come on! How would you feel if I were the one who left? You lying awake at night in your empty bed...

Jackson: what kind of buddy are you asking me to be?

I giggle at Jackson as I finish up on Owen's patient.

-later-

I got paged outside by Owen and when I get there, I see Owen with Callie, Arizona and Wilson standing by a car with a stretcher through it.

Savannah: oh my god.

I help Owen with the door.

Savannah: we're gonna get you out of there, okay? Just hang in there.

Dave: it really hurts. Is this normal?

Monica: nothing about this is normal!

Callie: Dave, is that you? I think that Dave Oldroyd in there.

Owen: what, you know him?

Arizona: yeah. Stage 2 osteosarcoma patient. He's due for his next round of chemo in like an hour. Dave, what are you doing in there? Are you alright?

Dave: my head hurts when I move it.

Everyone: don't move your head!

Callie: alright, just hang in there, Dave. Let me get a closer look.
