It's been nearly a month since the wedding fiasco, and life has gone to normal. Well, as normal as it could be.

Jackson and I walk into the hospital and I get paged to the pit.

Savannah: gotta go, major incoming trauma in the pit. Love you, babe.

I kiss Jackson then quickly change before rushing to the pit. I find Owen as I'm throwing on a trauma gown.

Savannah: talk to me, Hunt.

Paramedic: MVC pileup at the downtown waterfront.

Owen: we've got multiple victims coming in here, people! Be careful.

We bring our patient into a trauma room then walk over to the nurses desk.

Savannah: Ross, stay where you are. You're with Hunt today.

Owen: Edwards, go help Harris.

Edwards: Harris?

Owen: mhmm. Oh. No. Sorry, uh... not Edwards. Okay. Warren, Harris needs hands.

Webber: now, hang on a second. Warren's with me. You can't break up the Big Dogs.

Owen: Webber, I'm having enough trouble juggling who can work with who. Don't make it any harder.

Murphy: oh, for God's sake, I'll go with Harris. Wouldn't want to break up the "old dogs" or anything.

I chuckle as Murphy walks off.

Savannah: Edwards, go help Dr. Torres.

I was paged into surgery with Jackson.

-later-

I'm sitting in surgery with Jackson.

Jackson: alright, you can go ahead and remove those clamps.

I slowly remove the clamps and set them aside.

Savannah: so, our wedding is almost here. Having cold feet yet? Any second thoughts?

Jackson: nope, not at all. I'm ready to marry you and call you my wife.

I smile at Jackson under my mask.

Jackson: have you talked to April?

Savannah: not really, to be honest. What about you, have you talked to Jeremy?

Jackson: I walked past him in the hallway before I was heading to surgery. Haven't spoken to him in a few days, though.

Savannah: has he apologized to Edwards?

Jackson: last time we talked, he told me he's being trying to apologize for weeks but she walks away the moment she sees him coming. He feels miserable for what he did to her.

Savannah: I hate to be mean, but he deserves to feel miserable. He publicly humiliated her. She's such a sweet girl, she didn't deserve that.

Jackson: I know.

Savannah: you'd never do that to me, right?

Jackson: of course not. If I ever pulled crap like that, I'd never be able to work here again.

I chuckle at Jackson.

Savannah: good, 'cause we're getting married next week, so no turning back now.

Jackson chuckles at me.

Jackson: couldn't ask for anything better, dear.

Nurse: Dr. Collins.

Savannah: yes?

Nurse: incoming trauma.

Jackson: go. I can finish up here.
