"When did you guys start dating?" One girl asked on our lunch break.
"It was love at the sight. We saw each other in the hallway..."
"And didn't speak to each other for 3 months because you were both embarrassed about liking the other," BFF/N punched my arm. "It's true."
"What bout you, C/N? When were you going to tell us about your girl?"
"What?" He almost spit out his coffee.
"Happy birthday, S/N. Don't know what I would do without you," BFF/N quoted from his most recent post.
"That's not my girlfriend. She's my sister. Haven't dated in a while," I kept my eyes on my coffee and stirred the stick absentmindedly.
"Y/N? Y/N!?"
"What?" I glanced at her.
"What about your boyfriend? Weren't you supposed to go on a date tomorrow night?" I shook my head.
"I don't want to talk about it," I put the cup in the sink and went back to my cubicle.

"Please tell us more," I walked into the room and grabbed my water bottle. Another girl recalled her date.
"Why do you guys find enjoyment in discussing y'all's love life with others?"
"Just because yours has soured doesn't mean the rest of us should be like you. Angry and mean all of the time."
"He left me for my sister. We broke up a while ago," she frowned and I left the room.

A few days later, C/N POV
"Rumor has it that you got a girlfriend. I'm jealous," R/N walked up in her heels and leaned against me.
"One, still not interested. Two, no I don't," I stepped away and ran into someone.
"Sorry. I better get going, C/N," Y/N speed walked away and I went into the break room.
"What's going on, BFF/N? Everyone is acting weird and I think you're to blame," she shrugged.
"Rumors fly like wildfire here," I went to my cube and started on my work.
"I just had a question about the documents," Y/N stood in the doorway, staring at the floor, and I turned.
"Sure. What's up?" She explained what happened and I made the changes.
"Thanks for changing those for me," I looked up at her and stood.
"No problem. You know, rumor has it that I'm the one your leaving him for," she tilted her head, confused. I leaned closer and she held my gaze.
"C/N? I've got a problem," R/N whined. I rolled my eyes.
"Your cube for lunch?" She nodded and went back to her cubicle.

"Your alive," she noted when I sat down.
"I couldn't help her," we ate in silence for a while.
"What did you mean earlier?"
"What did I say?"
"Something about rumors."
"There's a rumor that I have a girlfriend," she nodded and went back to her food.
"I'm happy for you guys. Seriously, you and R/N make a good..." I burst out laughing.
"Could you ever see me with her? I mean seriously."
"She's wanted you for herself for years. No rumors there."
"Can't stand her. I love someone else though," I scooted closer to her, leaving no space between our chairs. "I've loved you for a while and wondered if you wanted to be my girlfriend?" She nodded and leaned forward.

Y/N POV
We went to the break room and I put my dish in the sink. I put my drink in the fridge and the girls started asking C/N about his girlfriend.
"I really don't know that much about her. We've worked together for years but never found time just to talk," R/N wrapped her arms around him and he stepped away. "I've told you a thousand times that I don't like you. My girlfriend is the complete opposite of you," I was leaning against the wall and C/N stood beside me.
"What is there to like about her? I'm perfect and better looking," he shook his head and took my hand. We walked out of the room and back to my cubicle.
"Don't listen to her. You're the most beautiful in this world."
