Chapter 59:

I'm walking through the hospital when I see my dad talking to a nurse who I knew as Rose. I've been seeing them talking lately and I've been growing suspicious. I don't hate the woman, she's pretty and she's actually quite nice. But I know that my dad's heart belongs to Meredith.

Dad: do you ever eat anything that even remotely resembles real food?
Rose: you'll have to take me to dinner to find out.
Dad: I can't do that. That, uh, kiss was... unexpected. I like kissing you, but... I'm seeing somebody.
Rose: Meredith Grey. Everybody knows about you and Meredith Grey.
Dad: I have to see it through. I'm sorry.
Rose: don't be. It was just a kiss. See you in surgery Dr. Shepherd.

I approach my dad as Rose walks away.

Delilah: you kissed Rose?
Dad: ... yeah.
Delilah: don't worry dad. I know that you and Meredith are seeing each other but haven't made things exclusive. I'm not mad. But if you want to be with Meredith for real, you can't be kissing other girls.
Dad: ugh! You're right.
Delilah: I know I am.
Dad: go away!

I chuckle at my dad then kiss his cheek before running off. I grab my lab coat then I see Callie by the waiting area.

Delilah: hey Cal! How are ya?
Callie: hey Del. I'm fine. You?
Delilah: I'm good. Drinking with you was fun.
Callie: yeah, it was fun.
Delilah: I never thought I'd have that much fun hanging out with Hahn.
Callie: yeah, she actually had fun with you too.
Delilah: really? Wow.
Callie: to be fair, it's hard not to hate you.
Delilah: true.

I walk off and it wasn't long until I bump into someone.

Delilah: oh gosh, I'm so sorry!
Louise: Delilah!

I look up and I see George's mom Louise smiling at me.

Delilah: mama O'Malley! Oh my god, hi! How are you?
Louise: I'm good dear. My goodness, you get more beautiful every time I see you.
Delilah: oh, you're too sweet. What are you doing here? Does George know you're here?
Louise: I thought I'd come around and see him and Callie. Do you know where they are?
Delilah: I haven't seen Georgie but I just saw Callie a minute ago. I can take you to her.

Louise pulls me into her side as we walk to find Callie. I find her in the same spot I saw her.

Louise: Callie!
Callie: Mrs. O'Malley, hi. How have you been?
Delilah: I'll leave you ladies to chat.

I run off and I find George walking down the hall.

Delilah: hey you!
George: hey.

George throws his arm around me as we walk.

George: you alright?
Delilah: just tired.

We see Lexie looking through the medicine cart and we approach her.

Delilah: what are you looking for Lexie?
Lexie: epinephrine. I need epinephrine.
George: why?

Lexie turns around and I gasp when I see that she has a rash all over her face.

Delilah: oh my god.
George: what happened to you?
Lexie: I'm an adult child of an alcoholic is what happened to me. I have boundary issues. So when Meredith made me eggs this morning, I couldn't not eat them. I had to pretend I wasn't allergic to eggs. Now I have a rash covering my entire body.
Delilah: my god. Okay, give me your arm.

I grab the epinephrine and grab Lexie's arm.

Lexie: I'm codependent, my throat is closing up– oww!

I smile at Lexie as I stick the epinephrine in her arm.

Lexie: and now my arm hurts. Thanks.
Delilah: no problem.
Lexie: and George, thank you for letting me crash on your couch last night.
