Just a normal, calm day with his wife and son - that's what Bucky thought this day was going to be

But from one little noise, he knew that wasn't going to be the case

You were just sat on the sofa in Bucky's arms, while your son, William was on the floor with his crayons and paper - he was only 3, so it wasn't the best work of art you've ever seen, but from the stickman with a big, grey arm stood next to the other stickman with your hair colour and length, you assumed he was drawing his parents, making you warm inside

The three of you were peaceful and happy, and just glad you had this life with each other, but that's when Bucky got a sudden feeling that something was wrong

He heard a noise - a small, high pitched noise come from right outside, then another, then another, all increasing in speed

Being a super soldier, he heard it instantly, and as soon as he realised what it was, he stood up, still with you in right arm, and managed to scoop up his son in his metal arm, confusing and surprising you, but you were even more confused when he sprinted to the other side of the house with you both, then covered your son's ears and held both of you close to him, his back facing the way he came and his eyes squeezed shut as if he was waiting for something

You were about to ask him what he was doing, but then, his whole body tensed up, just before a loud explosion scared all three of you, and you saw your front door get blown to pieces, but only for a second, as Bucky pushed your head in front of his chest with William's to protect you both, and instantly, you were glad to have a super soldier for a husband

The blast of the explosion broke the windows of the house, made Bucky stumble forwards, and made the poor little boy in his arm start to cry, but only after a second of shock

Immediately after he steadied himself, he let out a shaky breath before opening his eyes and looking at you, clearly shocked at his own quick actions

"What's going on?" you asked, trying to comfort William, but Bucky's expression turned serious, as he kissed the side of his son's head, still looking at you

The kiss seemed to calm him down, and you would've smiled, but you saw an agent sneak up behind him, so you shouted your husband's name, accidentally startling William again

Immediately, Bucky turned his head and managed to defend himself whilst still holding his son

Once the agent was down, he turned back to you, and he handed you the scared little boy in his arm

You took him, but also kept looking behind Bucky, that is until he placed both of his hands on your face and looked deep into your eyes, as you shivered from the cold of his metal hand and wedding ring

"Y/N, take Will and hide. Not in the house, somewhere else. Somewhere... Safe" as he said this, he started out with a serious tone, but during the pause, he realised that his home was no longer safe- he had tried so hard to keep what he loved out of harm's way, and none of it worked, none of it mattered - the home he tried to create for his family had gone

You were panicking, and Bucky knew it, but he had to protect you by getting you away

"B-Bucky... James, please. What's going on?" You asked, incredibly scared of your surroundings
