134. Dusted Pt. 7

So many of you have been waiting so long for this (looking at you _skittles107_), and so here it is :)

Imagine the Gauntlet they make is left handed lmao

Together, Tony and Bucky worked on their own Infinity Gauntlet, and with Bruce and Rocket's help, they managed to get it stable and working in just a few days

Between these days though, Bucky barely slept, due to constant anxiety he got over whether or not it would actually bring you back, and Natasha's little funeral didn't help either

He told Tony earlier that he didn't know if he could go another day without you, and during the construction of the Gauntlet, he couldn't concentrate and got pretty frustrated with himself

This only led to Tony becoming a closer friend to him, because he was the one that kept reassuring him everything would be okay and comforted him during this time

And so, here they all were, well... Here most of them were - There wasn't any sign of Nebula

The remaining Avengers were all stood around a table with the Infinity Stones all secured in the red, metal glove made of nanotechnology, with Rocket making final adjustments and little tweaks to it "Alright, the glove's ready" he spoke when he finished

He then looked around the room and looked everyone in the eye "Question is, who's gonna snap their freakin' fingers?"

Before anyone could say anything, Bucky piped up and volunteered himself "I'll do it"

This made everyone look at him, so he continued to speak "I have a metal arm, it'll be fine, right?"

As he asked his question, he looked at Tony, who shook his head "It'll probably shatter as soon as you put it on. Besides, you're not exactly the most... Mentally stable person here. No offense"

"It's made of Vibranium, and what does my mental stability have to do with-" Bucky tried to defend himself, but got cut off by the God of Thunder

"It could be made of Uru, like Mjolnir was and Storm Breaker is, and the Stones would shatter it like glass. We don't know what they can do to a person, and while you're very strong physically, as you're a super soldier, we need someone who is also strong mentally" Thor explained and Bucky retreated, looking down at the ground, slightly flustered

With a look around the circle, Thor continued to speak "That's why I'll do it"

As he said this, he walked forward towards the Gauntlet, making everyone apart from Bucky protest, as he replied confidently "It's okay"

Steve managed to stop him with louder protests coming from Tony and Scott "Thor, just... Wait. We haven't decided who's gonna put that on yet"

Immediately, Thor argued back at Steve, making Bucky sigh and glance at Rhodey, who raised his eyebrows at him

"I'm sorry. What, were you just sitting around waiting for the right opportunity?" he asked the Captain, but Scott was there to help him

"We should at least discuss it" he added, but unfortunately, it went unnoticed by the stubborn God

"Look, us sitting here staring at that thing is not gonna bring everybody back" he raised his voice, making Bucky try to intervene again "C'mon, Thor" he said, but like Scott, he went unnoticed

Thor managed to break free from Steve and instead got trapped by Tony after he stated "I'm the strongest Avenger, okay? So this responsibility falls upon me"
