Venom was holding onto the top of the house, a cloth in the other hand as he wiped down the windows. Xander was in the back garden, in his view, sitting at the edge of the pool with his LEGO. It was hot and he wanted to be outside so decided to do it near the pool.
"This is annoying." Venom grumbled, moving onto the next window.
"Yeah, well, you're a family alien now you gotta do the jobs." Nova smirked, sitting on the roof with an ice lolly.
"So, while I slave away, you eat an ice lolly while giving me a headache?" Venom asked, slapping her leg with the cloth.
"Precisely." Nova nodded. "Want a lick?"
"No. It hurts my brain." Venom growled.
"Oh, so there won't be too much pain, then." Nova retorted.
"You are a dick." Venom mumbled and Nova nodded in agreement, humming. "I am finished now."
"Good." Nova approved as he climbed up, sitting next to her. "I bet we look like right weirdos."
"They are the weirdos. We are the best." Venom grunted, hauling Nova onto his lap.
"Oh! That was surprising." Nova muttered as he nuzzled into her neck.
"I am full of surprises." Venom told her flatly.
"That you are." Nova hummed. "C'mon, love, make sure Xan don't fall in the water."
"Oh, yes." Venom nodded, grabbing her by the waist and jumping down, landing beside Xander who laughed, Venom grinning down at him. "Hello, mini me!"
"Hi, Daddy, Mummy!" Xander beamed as the two sat either side of him. "Look! I made this!"
"At least it's not a penis this time." Nova chuckled, taking the house in her hands. "This is brilliant, spud."
"Amazing! A mini architect me!" Venom bragged, delicately placing the house down so it wouldn't break in his grip.
"Hi, Mum, Dad!" Ivy waved as she and Becky came into the back garden, the pair in their swimming costumes. "Hey, Xan, what you made?"
"Maybe it's a penis." Becky snorted as they walked over, Venom grumbling at the girl, stopping when Nova shushed him quietly, leaning on his arm.
"'S a house!" Xander grinned, showing her and they both smiled at him.
"We're gonna swim, hence the outfits." Ivy gestured to the two of them.
"Well, I'd be concerned if not." Nova smiled and Xander gasped.
"Can I join too?" He asked excitedly and Venom and Nova turned to the two girls, not knowing if it was okay.
"Go and get changed." Ivy nodded to the door and Xander giggled happily, speeding inside, Venom stretching a tendril to keep him up when he slipped.
"How does a pool party sound? Well, a small one?" Natasha asked, coming outside as Ivy and Becky placed their towels on the chairs. "Maybe I'll even make cocktails."
"With alcohol?" Ivy questioned excitedly.
"...one with very weak alcohol 'cause it's spirit not beer. Becky, are you allowed some?" Natasha quizzed.
"Yeah, just one, though. Or my mum's kill me." Becky nodded.
"You," Natasha pointed to Nova, "get your costume on. You," she pointed to Venom, "stop sulking."
"But she is taking my nibble." Venom growled as Nova dragged him inside.
"She isn't taking your nibble." Natasha rolled her eyes with a smile as they walked upstairs to change.
"She is!" Venom exclaimed. "If she gets hurt, I will eat Becky! Maybe I will anyway!"
"You gonna eat her?" Nova asked.
"Mhm."
"If you think about it anymore, I won't wear my bikini. I'll wear a wetsuit." Nova raised her eyebrows.
"You do not have one." Venom tested, huffing when she pulled one from the wardrobe. "Fine."
"How did that work?"
"He's a tit man, Tasha."

"Oh, it's on, petal!" Nova called as Ivy dunked her underwater.
"No!" Ivy shrieked, using her powers to pull her to the other side of the pool.
"So we're doing it that way?" Nova chuckled, Venom pulling her over to Ivy who was now caged in.
"No! Pfft-" Ivy spluttered as Nova splashed her repeatedly, Natasha, Xander and Becky laughing in the background. "Okay! I surrender! I give up!"
"Yes!" Nova yelled, turning to the others with a grin. "We win!"
"Yes, you do. What about a game of Chicken?" Natasha asked, swimming over to Nova who pulled her closer by the waist.
"What? I am not letting our kids lie in the road and wait for a car to come down." Nova shook her head.
"Oh, no! I meant chicken fight." Natasha chuckled.
"In that case, what d'you lot say?" Nova asked and they all nodded, Venom stretching from Nova to be beside her in the pool.
"Me and Daddy!" Xander called, swimming over to Venom who grabbed him, hauling him on his shoulders.
"Me and Becky!" Ivy beamed and Becky crouched a little in the water, letting Ivy climb on her shoulders.
"I guess that leaves me and you, Cherry." Nova sighed like it was an issue.
"Oh, how kind." Natasha scoffed jokingly, squealing in shock as Nova ducked under the water, swimming through her legs and out again, Natasha now on her shoulders.
"Would you do us a favour?" Nova asked, blowing away the water in her face and Natasha brushed back the hair stuck to her forehead. "Cheers."
"We fight now." Venom smirked, Xander laughing and placing his hands on the alien's head.
"Nicely." Nova warned and he imitated her making Ivy, Becky, Xander and Natasha laugh at him.
The water splashed around the family as they fought, Ivy and Becky going down first when Natasha pushed her down and then Nova and Natasha when Venom sneakily swiped Nova's leg from under her. The couple came up spluttering for air as the rest laughed, Venom smirking smugly at them.
"That was cheating, V!" Nova exclaimed, pushing her hair back.
"No, it was not! We won." Venom grinned as Xander gave them a similar smirky grin.
"You're definitely related." Natasha laughed, looking at the pair.
"Exactly. Mini me." Venom nodded and Xander did the same.
The games repeated for hours until they all looked like prunes minus Venom. Becky was sat on a chair, Ivy leaning on her stomach between her legs, the pair laughing at something on Ivy's phone. Natasha sat beside Nova at the edge of the pool, Venom the other side of the tattooed woman while Xander was fast asleep in his lap.
"Maybe she's not so bad." Nova whispered to Natasha as she was handed a cocktail.
"See? She's nice, right?" Natasha agreed, nudging her arm.
"Fine. She's nice. She's literally perfect." Nova sighed, sipping her drink.
"Y'know what I heard coming from her headphones earlier?" Natasha asked and Nova shook her head. "Mötley Crüe."
"Oh, my God." Nova gasped. "She is perfect."
"No." Venom grumbled when Becky leaned down to kiss Ivy's cheek.
"V, c'mon, admit it. Her favourite food's chocolate." Nova mumbled, leaning her chin on his bicep to look up at him.
"Fine. She is okay." Venom sighed, almost as if he was rolling his eyes.
"I mean, it's a little better." Nova mumbled to Natasha who smiled, leaning on her chest.
"Her head would be better than choco-"
