Nova pulled up the car at Tony's cabin, Ivy excitedly sitting in the back seat with Natasha and Scott, Steve in the passenger seat. The five of them got out of the car and Morgan waved happily at Ivy who returned it, standing next to Natasha and holding her Mama's hand tightly.
Tony nodded at Natasha and Nova who did the same before Natasha nodded for everyone to go up to the cabin. Ivy let go of the red heads hand, running inside after Morgan and the two girls started to play together inside while Scott started explaining his thoughts to Tony.
"No. We know what it sounds like." Scott chuckled after finishing his explanation.
"Tony, after everything you've seen, is anything really impossible?" Steve questioned.
"Quantum fluctuation messed with the Planck scale which then triggers the Deutsch Proposition. Can we agree on that?" Tony asked, pouring everyone a chocolate milk.
"Thank you." Steve mumbled as Tony handed him a glass.
"Cheers me dears." Nova muttered, also taking a glass from him with a smile.
"In layman's terms, it means you're not coming home." Tony added.
"I did." Scott argued.
"No. You accidentally survived." Tony sighed. "It's a billion-to-one cosmic fluke. And now you wanna pull a... What do you call it?"
"A time heist." Scott offered.
"Yeah, a time heist. Of course." Tony chuckled. "Why didn't we think of this before? Oh, because it's laughable. Because it s a pipe dream. Nova, why didn't you say this to them?"
"Because time travel is possible. We've just gotta find out a way to do it because Cable used the last of his fuel and I'm not sure where he is at the minute. Even if I did, I don't think he could make it. I also didn't study this in the Red Room. Just biology and planets." Nova shrugged.
"The stones are in the past." Steve interrupted. "We could go back, we could get them."
"We can snap our own fingers. We can bring everybody back." Natasha spoke up.
"Or screw it up worse than he already has, right?" Tony asked.
"I don't believe we would." Steve said definitively.
"Gotta say it. I sometimes miss that giddy optimism." Tony replied. "However, high hopes won't help if there's no logical, tangible way for me to safely execute said time heist. I believe the most likely outcome will be our collective demise."
"Not if we strictly follow the rules of time travel. Alright? It means no talking to our past selves, no betting on sporting events." Scott listed.
"I'm gonna stop you right there, Scott. Are you seriously telling me that at your plan to save the universe is based on Back to the Furture?" Tony asked and Scott scoffed quietly. "Is it?"
"No." Scott denied.
"Good. You had me worried there. 'Cause that would be horseshit. That's not how quantum physics works." Tony responded.
"Tony." Natasha chimed in. "We have to take a stand."
"We did stand. And yet, here we are." Tony stated and Natasha looked away.
"I know you got a lot on the line. You got a wife, a daughter. But I lost someone very important to me. A lotta people did. And now, we have a chance to bring her back, to bring everyone back, and you're telling me that you won't even-"
"That's right, Scott." Tony interrupted. "I won't even."
"That's not fair, Tony." Nova spoke up.
"Life's not fair, Nova. I thought you knew that. And you have a daughter now, shouldn't you be putting her first?" Tony shot back.
"Yes, we have a daughter but I want her to have a complete family, Stark. I lost my parents and my brothers and my friends, Natasha lost hers and her sister which means that's at least 10 people I want her to meet that she won't unless we do something about it." Nova explained. "We're all gonna do our part for, not just the planet, the fuckin' universe."
"I can't." Tony denied as footsteps approached and Morgan jumped into his lap.
"Mummy told me to come and save you." Morgan mumbled, snuggling into Tony as Ivy ran out, crashing into Nova's leg.
"Good job, I'm saved." Tony muttered.
"Mummy, can I go on your shoulders?" Ivy asked giddily.
"Yeah." Nova nodded and tendrils wrapped around Ivy's waist, lifting her into Nova's shoulders and the little girl held onto the tattooed woman's head to keep her on.
"I wish you were coming here to ask me something else. Anything else. I'm honestly happy to see you guys, I just... Oh, look, the table's set for six." Tony said, getting up to go inside.
"Tony, I get it." Steve began. "And I'm happy for you. I really am. But this is a second chance."
"I got my second chance right here, Cap. Can't roll the dice on it." Tony replied before looking to everyone else. "If you don't talk shop, you can't stay for lunch."
"Are we staying, Mama?" Ivy asked.
"No, цветок. We've got a surprise for you at home." Natasha smiled.
"Is it chocolate?" Ivy questioned, grinning widely.
"Only if Daddy'll share." Natasha smirked.
"Just for my Nibble." Venom growled. "But that is not the surprise."
"To the car, Mummy!" Ivy shouted happily, pointing ahead at the vehicle and Nova sped ahead, making aeroplane noises as Ivy giggled.
"He's scared." Natasha stated as the rest walked towards the car.
"He's not wrong." Steve spoke up.
"Yeah, but, I mean, what are we gonna do?"Scott quizzed. "We need him. What, are we gonna stop?"
"No, I wanna do it right." Steve sighed. "We're gonna need a really big brain."
"Bigger than his?" Scott gestured to Tony's cabin.
"I hope you mean metaphorically. A big brian is not healthy." Nova spoke up, doing up Ivy's seatbelt in the back before moving to get in the drivers seat as Natasha got in the back with Ivy and Scott.
"Both." Steve replied, getting in the passenger seat.
"Huh? Ohh, I got ya." Nova nodded, turning on the engine before heading off. "Green bean."
"Mama, I don't like green beans." Ivy whispered to Natasha.
"You don't have to eat green beans, don't worry." Natasha smiled.
"Is Mummy going crazy then?" Ivy questioned.
"Insane." Natasha muttered and Ivy giggle as Natasha twirled her fingers around her ears making the 'crazy' motion.
"You talking about me, petal?" Nova teased and Ivy immediately tried to conceal her giggles as she looked at them through the mirror. "I'll get you both back."
"See? Crazy." Natasha whispered.
"I heard that, you little shit."
"Mummy, language!"
"Steve, what have you done to my daughter?"
"Our."
