inspired but not stolen from hollyoaks - the idea came from there but none of what i've written was included in the show x

trigger warning!

~~~
"You locked yourself in the bathroom,
Lying on the floor when I break through,
I pull you in to feel your heartbeat,
Can you hear me screaming "please don't leave me"?
Hold on, I still want you,
Come back, I still need you."
Rye's POV
I wasn't expecting the knock on the door and I definitely wasn't expecting Andy to be stood on the other side of it.
"What's up Fovvs?"
He gave me a forced smile and gestured for me to let him in. I followed him through the house after closing the door, nodding for him to sit beside me on the sofa.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure.." I said gingerly. It was so bizarre for him to be here right now. We hadn't spoken in months and he all-of-a-sudden turns up on my doorstep.
"Did you ever love me?" He finally asks after a few seconds of silence. The question shocked me but I wasn't surprised he asked. Andy had always been insecure and unsure of himself and our relationship.
"Of course I did Fovvs. I loved you with my whole heart."
He smiled a real smile this time, but I could still sense some unfamiliar emotion behind it.
"That's all I need to know. Are you busy today?"
I shook my head. "No plans."
"Great!" He stood up, holding out his hand for me to take.
"What's going on?"
"I'm taking you out. I want one perfect day, just like old times."
The whole situation was confusing. Andy had cut contact with me the minute we broke up, so I didn't understand why he had suddenly come back. But I wasn't complaining. I missed him. I missed him so bad.
"Okay, let's go."
He took me to lunch to begin with. Just a simple meal at McDonalds, but it was perfect. It reminded me of the way we met. I was a cashier here and he'd come in with his friends.
"Rye, can you serve that group? Teenage boys scare me." My best mate, Jack, requested, pointing towards a crowd of about four lads.
I let out a laugh, raising an eyebrow at the Irish boy. "You are a teenage boy."
He flicked me on the forehead. "But others scare me! Just bloody take their orders."
"Fine." I chucked, heading to the counter.
"What can I get you boys today?" I asked, wondering why they weren't just using the order machines but not dwelling on it.
