it was peaceful.

only the sound of soft breathing could be heard. you were snuggled up against Fukurōdani's energetic captain and ace, bokuto koutarou. he had just returned from volleyball practice that had fatigued him. he didn't even bother to eat and fill his stomach, and instead, he wanted to cuddle with you.

you tried feeding him some rice and soup, but he didn't even spare a glance at it. he gave you a small pout and tugged your sleeves, begging you for hugs. his eyes looked at you with such fondness, you couldn't help but adore him.

you gave into his endearing puppy eyes, which lead to the situation right now. here you guys were, snuggled against each other on the couch.

you sat on top of bokuto's lap and had your head rested on his shoulder. you had your arms and legs wrapped around his torso, while he had his arms wrapped around your shoulders. he rubbed his cheek on top of your head and smiled when the sweet fragrant of vanilla filled his nose.

"hehe, you smell so good," he chuckled as he continued sniffing your hair. he brought you closer and tightened his grip around your shoulders. he closed his eyes and rested his cheek on your head.

"i took a shower before you came here," you mumbled as you buried your nose into the crane of his neck.

giggles left bokuto's lips when your hair tickled his neck. you looked up at his laughing face and smiled. every time bokuto laughed, it always brought a small grin to your face.

you leaned in towards his collarbones and gave it a small kiss before resting your cheeks on it. you could feel his chest rising and falling, as he breathed in unison with you. in each other's embrace, you could feel the warm blood that was flowing and could hear his heart beating.

bokuto's smile curved up widely when your lips came in contact with his collarbones. he looked down at your body snuggled against his and chuckled at how precious you looked. he gave you a small peck on the top of your head and gently brushed a strand of your hair behind your ear.

he soothed you by gently patting your back and when you nestled your head into his chest, his heart almost exploded.

your eyes fluttered open when bokuto unwrapped his arms from you and brought them up to his shoulders.

"hm, koutarou?" you asked. "are you hungry?"

you were about to get off his lap when he tugged your sleeves to stay. he immediately pulled you back down to his lap and pouted. he pushed his bottom lip forward and shook his head.

"y/n," he called out. "do you love me?"

the sudden question surprised you to your core. he had never asked you that question and you couldn't help but wonder if something bad had happened at today's volleyball practice.

he looked at you desperately and his eyes pleaded you for answers. you grabbed his hands tightly and rested your forehead against his.

"of course i love you, koutarou," you answered, poking your nose against his. his thumb swiped the top of your hands in an affectionate manner.

"even though i can be really loud and simple-minded?" he asked, gripping onto your hands tightly. his touch somehow managed to make the room warmer.

truth be told, today, akaashi wouldn't toss to him as much today, which got him to become forlorn and disheartened. all he wanted at the moment was your love and affection, and nothing more.

"even though you can be very loud and simple-minded, i love you and always will. koutarou, did something happen?" you asked, worried about his behaviors.

a large grin settled on his face when the words 'i love you' left your lips. he enveloped you in a warm hug and leaned his face on your shoulder.

"i love you too, y/n!" he exclaimed as he rubbed his cheek against yours with a goofy smile. "i love love love you!"

he pressed his lips against yours and smiled. he wrapped his arm around your waist and gently rubbed them with his thumb. you sank into the warmth of his side, finding his confessions adorable and lovable.

he closed his eyes one last time and nestled his face into your shoulder before mumbling the following words.

"i'm in love with you, y/n."
