Cross watched the gang while lost in their thoughts. Things were so different here. Every member of the gang have been forced into a position where they either continued to suffer and endure in silence or fight back. Cross through the manipulative son of a bitch gaster while Killer and Dust their Chara. Then Nightmare by the villagers and Error he suspected was once a Geno. Cross could recognize determination anywhere after all he was originally x-tale's Chara.

His Sans had given up and somehow faded away after they were trapped in that white space for so long. He wallowed in guilt and grief that Chara completely understood, but Sans wasn't determined enough to continue existing so the bastard had some how found a way to die while letting Chara keep the body and the entire fused soul. His spite and insanity was at an all time high when Nightmare found him.

Chara or now Cross had agreed to join them if only to get away from this hell hole. At first they thought Nightmare would be like gaster, especially since they learned he had control over negativity, but quickly figured out the group was like a family although murderous had each other's back. Cross had a lot of freedom. They had been taught how to portal into universes being one of the few powerful enough to do so.

They usually stayed around the chaos of the gang and joined them on their au destroying business. Now they hoarded all the chocolate they could dream of and have fun messing with people. Stealing whatever they wanted and hanging out in strange aus when they needed alone time. This life was far better than whatever perfect world X-Gaster had planned.

Personally speaking though Cross was pretty neutral about the good guys unlike most of the gang with a vendetta against their enemies. He didn't want to directly associate with the goody two shoes, but they were fun to mess with when bored.

Cross isn't sure if they will every come clean about the fact they were actually Chara and not a true skeleton or Sans. Sure the lie was a barrier between their relationship, but pretty much the entire gang hated Chara's for obvious reasons. He also avoided overwrite because of how easily the abuse of it could turn him into that manipulative bastard. People aren't people anymore the moment you take away their free will.

(I just thought Cross had a lot of Chara like habits in stories so him being a Chara instead of possessing one sounds interesting. How would the gang react if their Cross Sans was actually X-Chara?)
