Round 8 - Chapter 3 - Spending Time With The Wife

Y/N'S POV

I was listening to the radio as I was driving through the streets, speeding through the rain like nothing. The sun was already setting, it's better I get home to my wife. I absolutely floored Roman in the game, Neo was constantly heaving as she couldn't stop laughing...or well...mute laughing...

K.A.R.R.'s tires squeal as I suddenly stop on the side of the street, completely ignoring the horns of disgruntled motorists.

K.A.R.R.: "Why are we stopping?"

Y/N: "Just getting something nice for my sweetheart." I said before getting out.

I looked up at the sign of the store that read 'Raving Classics', the neon tube sign flickered as it clearly hadn't seen maintenance in years. I step inside to not get any more rain on me, the clerk looks up from the cash register and smiled at me.

Clerk: "Good evening Sir, how can I help you?" She greeted looking tired but happy.

Y/N: "I'm just here to get something quickly for my sweetheart." I said as I started looking through the shop.

Clerk: "Are you looking for anything in particular?"

Y/N: "Yeah I'm looking for th-ah! there it is!" I said as I pulled the album off the shelf.

I placed it on the counter and got out the liens to pay for it, the clerk quickly scanned it in and put it in a bag.

Clerk: "Hope your partner loves it!" She says as she accepts the money.

Y/N: "I'm sure she will."

I quickly raced out the door and got back into K.A.R.R. to avoid having the album get ruined.

Y/N: "Alright, let's get home."

And with that, I put the shifter into drive and raced off, just in time for the next track on the radio to start.

TIMESKIP - L/N HOUSE

After 15 minutes of driving, I finally arrived, I quickly race over to the door and out of the rain. I turn around and give K.A.R.R. a nod, he flashes his scanner for a second in acknowledgment.

K.A.R.R.: "Don't worry I'll park, you get inside."

He fires his turbine engine up again and moves towards the garage as he opens the door, I turn around and fumble in my pockets for the house keys. Before I could find them the door was suddenly opened, I was instantly glumped into an embrace by my wife as the smell of roses, smoke, and whiskey fill my nose.

Ruby: "Aw darling there you are, I was about to call you!" She said looking relieved.

Y/N: "Don't worry, I just went to visit Roman and catch up with him."

Ruby: "And? how's he doing?" She asks as she pulls me inside and closes the door.

Y/N: "He's doing very well for himself, he's also got a new partner in crime."

Ruby: "Ooo, I bet she would be fun to hang out with if she's ballsy enough to join Roman on his heists."

Y/N: "Well she certainly was pleasant company as we all played some card games together."

Ruby: "I've already made dinner and I'm certain you're gonna like it!" She said with a knowing smirk.

She gets a plate from the kitchen and removes the cloth to reveal...hotdogs! lots of hotdogs!!

Y/N: "Oh yeah!" I said making her giggle.

She sat down on my lap and put out her finished cigarette before she kissed me, we each took a hotdog and started eating. Once again my tastebuds are amazed by Ruby's hotdogs, she somehow makes them better than anyone else.

It wasn't until we were halfway through our mountain of hotdogs that I remembered the album I got for Ruby, she looks at me curiously as I reach over and grabbed the bag.

Y/N: "Your amazing hotdogs made me totally forget that I got something for you." I said as I gave the bag to her.

Ruby: "For me? oh you shouldn't have."

She pulled the album out of the bag and froze as her eyes turned into stars, she wrapped her arms around me as she said a million thank yous a second.

Ruby: "You know my music tastes too well!"

She pulled the vinyl out of the sleeve and hopped off my lap to put it onto the player, her smile grew even bigger once the music started.

She started to sway to the music as she got a wine bottle out from under the table, she opens it and places it down.

Ruby: "A little treat for when we're done eating." She says as she got back onto my lap.

It was really cute to watch Ruby happily eat the hotdogs as she swayed back and forth to the music, there never was a moment where she wasn't cute incarnate. When we were finally done with the hotdogs we were completely full, and yet we still downed the wine bottle in no time.

We would pass it to each other to chug from or hold it for each other, by the end the bottle was empty and we were both cuddling drunk.

With my stomach full and a cute rose wrapped around me, I start dosing off as some movie we had put on plays in the background...
