It was another day at school for you. You weren't the most popular but you weren't a part of the nerd group. You were somewhat in the middle class, just flying under the radar.
Of course there was that one person that could always make your heart beat faster, your palms sweat and the blood rise to your cheeks. That person happens to be Rachel Hofstetter. She was a grade above you and you couldn't help but feel nervous when you were around her.
That of course wasn't very often..You are smart. You took some classes that were above your grade level which meant class was with her sometimes. She doesn't know you exist. At least that's what you believe.
Little did you know that she was struggling with some of her classes. On this day in particular the teacher emailed you and said to come to class early. When you walk in the class you see Rachel at the table in front of the teachers desk.
"You wanted to see me Mr.Rellington?"
"Ah yes! I'm not sure if you two know each other that well." She shakes her head a little and you just shrug.
"Well..Ms.Hofstetter here is close to failing my class..you are doing the best so I was wondering if you could tutor her." He asks. Rachel looks down nearly looking..embarrassed?
"Of course. That wouldn't be an issue. I'm happy to help!"
"Okay that's wonderful. I'm going to be right back I'm running to the men's room." And with that he leaves.
You stand in front of her and she looks up at you. "How are you so good at everything..?" She ask barely above a whisper.
"W-What?"
"You're good at everything. You're taking this high school class a year early, you're amazing at sports and you are great at music and art too. I see you draw in class. I've heard you play your guitar in the summer through my window. I'm not a stalker though..it's just hard when it sounds amazing and we are neighbors.." she rambles. You giggle a bit at her.
"You are good at things too Rachel.." you say.
"What are you talking about.." you good at taking my heart for starters..
"Well..you are good at always looking great. You are great at video games. You are good at making friends. You are also a great cook. It always smells amazing compared to my mom burning dinner every night.." you tell her and she smiles.
"Thank you..that made me feel better. And come over anytime so your mom doesn't food poison you!" She laughs.
"Well my mom is out on business so I need to make sure I don't food poison myself.."
"Oh don't be silly." The bell rings. "Come with me to my house after school. You can even spend the night if you want to, neighbor."
"Okay neighbor." You go to your desk and the other students flood into the room. Only a few more classes until you get to spend some time with Rachel.

The end of the day rolls around and you are at your locker getting your books. You jump when someone hugs you from behind.
"Jesus Rachel..you scared me." She let's go of you.
"I'm sorry..and please call me Rae. I like that better than Rachel.."
"Okay Rae!" The two of you walk back to her house. The minute she opens the door her dog runs up to her.
"Hi Mika!" Rae says playing with her dog. You smile at how cute she is being. After spending a few moments with her dog she leads you to her room.
"This is my room." She says and sits on her bed.
"It's really nice."
"Thank you. Now come sit down." Rae tells you. You obey her and you start going over the work.
"So history? Let's start working on it." She nods.

"Ughhhh why is this so confusing??" Rae practically yells out of frustration. Mika jumps a little at the sudden outburst.
"Hmm. I think we should try a different approach." You tell her.
"Like what? Nothing will work.."
"I don't know? Rainbow notes help me sometimes."
"What's that?"
"When you write different sentences in different colors." You hand her the notes that are color coordinated to your sexuality. (Yes I do this😅)
"It looks like a (your sexuality) flag!! It's so cute." She says catching you off guard.
"O-oh Yeah. It's because I am..I ding it fun to do it that way." She takes a blue, purple and pink colored pencils and writes her notes.
Rae looks up at you shyly. "I also read somewhere that kissing helps you remember things sometimes.."
"Are you implying that you want to kiss me Ms.Hofstetter?" You ask slightly amused.
"Maybeee..?" You turn a bright shade of red. Soon her lips meet yours and you end up kissing her back. This is what you've been waiting for since the 6th grade.
Now that it's happened it's everything you thought it would be and more. Let's just say that kissing turned to making out and Rae passed her class for the term. And now the two of you are happily dating.
