"Finally you're going out with Daichi-san, [Name]. You haven't dated for 10 years now." Kuroo said. You told him about Daichi's invitation to Suga's anniversary with his wife on the 16th. Kuroo was happy you're going out with another men but he also wanted to make sure you're not holding the grudge towards Daichi.
"If I'm thinking what you're thinking right now, I am not dating Daichi, Tetsu. We're just going there to congratulate Suga and that's it." You put on your matching earrings - that fits your dress - and put on a red lipstick. "Oh. Can you take out Yuria with you tonight?"
"Why not? The guys wanted to see her, though." he smiled.
"Thanks. I owe you, Tetsu." you gave him a peck on the cheek which he wiped it off as a joke.
Daichi arrived an hour early and luckily you were ready by the time he knocked on the door. You told Kuroo you were leaving and gave a kiss on your daughter's forehead. Yuria greeted her father like always and they both shared a father-daughter hug.
"Have fun at Uncle Suga's house, you two!" Yuria shouted to you as you entered Daichi's car. He closed it for you and you waved through the window. Daichi got into the driver's seat and drove.
It was all quiet at the beginning. You didn't know what to say. Your ex-husband has not remarry but the two of you still looking like a married couple. No doubt later on Suga thinks you two are back together.
"So," Daichi began which startled you. "I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to speak out of the blue-"
"N-No it's okay. I should expected it." you assured.
He coughed a bit. "You look beautiful, [N-Name]. Age 37 and you still look like you're 17 again. 20 years ago when I first confessed my love to you."
Just when the good memory was giving out the sparkly atmosphere, you ruined it intentionally. "You got me knocked up at age 24." you deadpanned.
That's when Daichi facepalmed, one hand on the steering wheel. "Jeez, [Name]. I was having a moment," you two shared a laugh. "But I didn't regret it one bit. That is still one of my memories I never want to forget."
"Me too." you whispered, looking out the window.
You finally reached Suga's home an hour later. Everyone was there, surprisingly Tsukishima was too. His expression had softened, all thanks to his girlfriend who he started dating for 3 months now. Tsukishima worked as a paleontologist. Yamaguchi also had a girlfriend who is also known as future Mrs. Yamaguchi and he worked as a scientist. Asahi became a high school teacher. Enoshita helped with his father's business. Kageyama and Hinata are both volleyball coaches, Hinata being the second-in-command. Yachi is a nurse - who luckily got over fearing over small things - and Kiyoko is a surgeon. As for the hyper duo, Tanaka is a gym trainer and Nishinoya became a chef. Suga worked as a physician and Daichi is an attorney. Everyone was having fun and some of them even expecting a kid of their own.
"How many months?" Daichi asked Tanaka.
"I think she's about 3-4 months? I'm not really good with counting months. What I'm good at is being there for her 24/7." Tanaka proudly stated.
"Good for you, Ryu." Noya patted his friend's back.
You felt Daichi's hand holding your wrist. You turned to him and he had a solemn look on his face. "Can I speak to you, [Name]? In private?"
"Sure," even though you knew what he's up to, you decided to listen to what he has to say. He was mourning over 10 years for you and regretted to what he did. However, he can't take it back because you wouldn't hear him out. Now, you're going to. Even after Daichi cheated, he was truthful about his feelings. Once you two stood at the patio, you break the ice. "What's wrong, Daichi?"
"[Name]..." he swift to turn to you. "10 years ago, I did something to ruin our marriage. It was my fault but [Name]... this is also your fault."
Your mouth dropped. "Exc-"
"Let me finish," you nod for him to continue. "You didn't hear me out. You didn't give me a chance to fix this whole thing and it's eating me up that I couldn't. Your stubborness is so irritating, I'd punish you."
"You call me out here so you could blame me when you're the one cheating on me?!"
"Listen to what I have to say, [Name]! I'm trying to teach you! I've been thinking for 10 years and I realized that you're hurting yourself! You won't listen to my explanation! You let yourself walk out of that door! Next time when you're remarrying and your new husband did a small mistake, would you divorce him? Would you go berserk over small things?"
"But you cheated on me!" you raised your voice. "How is that a small thing?!"
"You're stubborn, [Name]! You won't listen when someone made you mad. At the end of the day, you shake it off like it didn't happen. But in reality, you're just mad for nothing," he moved towards you, looking really upset. "5 years after you left, did you remember what you said to me in front of Yuria?"
- flashback -
"What are you doing here, Daichi?" you groaned.
"I'm here to see my daughter. Isn't that what I do?" he raised an eyebrow.
You scoffed. "You're supposed to but I see you're already occupied."
"What are you talking about?"
You laughed bitterly. "Don't you have a date to go to? With that cute blonde with glasses?"
When Daichi realized what you said, he frowned. "That was a colleague of mine, [Name]. She and I had something to talk about."
But you wouldn't listen. "You're an ass, Daichi. I don't believe you."
Daichi wanted to respond but when he caught a glimpse of his daughter waking up and standing behind her mother, he closed back his mouth. You noticed and looked over your shoulder. Your voice woke her up and you felt guilty.
"I'm sorry, Yuria. Just go to sleep," you turned back to Daichi. "Go home. You can pick her up tomorrow. I want to spend time with her today."
Without hearing to what he has to say, you slammed the door to his face.

After remembering, Daichi continued, "That was my colleague and she came to me to file a report on you. She was about to report you for not letting me see Yuria but I told her she shouldn't because you are her mother and you have the right to keep Yuria as long as you like."
You pursed your lips, unable to utter a word.
"T-Then... what's your reason when you came home kissing that woman?"
"She was drunk," was his excuse. "I wasn't but I thought bringing her home would be a good idea because her husband was abusing her. But when I was opening the door, she pulled me in for a kiss and slipped some drug into my mouth," he took out a doctor's sheet and showed it to you. "This is the result when I went to see Suga. It was a drug that makes your body numb and hallucination. When the drug kicked in, the woman I saw was you. I missed the hell out of you so I kissed that woman until I heard your voice from the distance instead..."
"Oh my god," you sat down staring at the sheet. "It was 100% esctacy pills."
"In fact, it is a drug that you can buy in a pub to have fun."
You looked up again. "D-Daichi I'm so sorry. I didn't-" you couldn't continue and sobbed in your hand. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
He kneeled down in front of you, staring into your eyes with a gentle smile. "Because I didn't want to see you get hurt anymore."
You threw yourself into Daichi's embrace and sobbed into his clothed shoulder. "I'm sorry, Daichi! I'm so sorry! I was so stupid! God, I'm so stupid!"
"It's ok-"
"No, it's not!" you pulled away. "I promised to myself that I would never accuse my husband over small things but here I am making a fool of myself."
"You were upset, that was it," Daichi looked down at your hands and holds it. "I'm sorry I said it was your fault. You never dated anyone in Karasuno so I was being selfish and thought you would understand about being in a relationship."
"I was a relationship virgin then." you couldn't help but joke.
Daichi went along. "Yeah, you were."
"So, where does this leave us?" you asked.
"Oh, right," he dig into his pocket and took out the locket he used to give you when you first dated. "I remember like it was yesterday when I confessed. I was a stutter mess." he chuckled.
"Hm, you were." you caressed his palm with your fingers.
"[Name]?"
You looked up. "Yes?"
He brought up your hands in both of his and bring it to his chest. "Will you be my girlfriend? Let's take small steps and we'll see how it'll go from there. What do you say?"
You nodded with tears in your eyes. "Yes! I would love to be your girlfriend again!" you pounced on him and he wrapped his arms securely around your waist. "I love you, Daichi."
You felt his lips kissing your shoulder blade. "I love you too, [Name]. So much."
