oneshot | haikyuu!!

Hinata + Kageyama

Inspired by the movie 'Brother Bear'. I thought that this suits these two idiots of mine. I do not own Haikyuu and Brother Bear.

The tribe living in North America, it's the place where creatures were created by Spirits in a form of an aurora. There's a tribe living there and [Name] lives there. Her and her family, minus her parents. Rumors to be said her parents died when glaciers crashed on them while hunting for bears.

Bears. [Name] hated those creatures. She thought her parents died while facing them and those bears needed to pay.

[Name] was busy sharpening her spear when her relative, Gabby, joined her. "You've been sharpening that spear since 10 minutes ago. It's sharp enough."

"Not sharp enough to cut some bear's fur." [Name] mumbled.

"Ooh~ someone is acting sadist here," [Name] glared at her but she was unfazed by it, chuckling while slapping the [color] haired girl. "Now, now. That spear is scary enough; your face will scare the fish."

"Knock it off, Gabby." [Name] lightly pushes her blood relative, laughing.

"I don't get it. Bear of love? Bear does not love; they're monsters who steal fishes!" [Name] heard complains coming from her another relative who just got his totem today. She shakes her head at his whining.

"Maybe you should get a totem that actually describes you; a dimwit." [Name] insulted Nishinoya.

"GAHAHAHA. Good one, [Name]!"

"Don't fight, you guys. Now, [Name]. You haven't got your totem yet so don't complain when your totem has the word 'dimwit' on it." Asahi lectured.

"Says the eagle that eats rats for a living."

"Burn!" Tanaka laughs. "[Name], say more!"

"What are you, a kid?" [Name] stared at her cousin weirdly. "Sorry but I'm going for a walk."

"Want me to come with you?" Gabby asked.

"If you can keep up.."

"Hinata, you dumbass! Get down from that tree!" The older bear called from the bark, his paw holding it for support as he stands on his two feet.

The younger bear ignored his older brother and continue to climb each branch to collect fruits before hibernation.

"Just a sec, Kageyama. I can't reach for these berries!"

"You'll fall," Kageyama face-palmed. That dumbass is not going to listen anyhow. "He's going to fall if he uses the tip of his toes." He mumbles.

As if Hinata got jinxed, he fell from the tree to the ground.

"Like I said," Kageyama points out. He walked to where his brother landed and smirked. "How's the fall, Hinata?"

"I got the berries!" He pops out of the leaves.

"You're more worried about those berries than yourself? You're an idiot."

Hinata happily hops out of the leaves and carries the stick of berries in his mouth. Both bears walked to their hibernation spot and ate the berries.

Kageyama stared at berries weird. "Hinata, they taste weird.. did you check whether they expire?"

"Nope!" He chirps.

"Why are you smiling about this?!" Kageyama slaps Hinata with the berries. "I'm not eating that junk; I'll find something else."

"If you find anything appetizing, get some for me."

"In your dreams, dumbass."

The older bear looked everywhere that's appetizing but could not find any. He was about to give up when he heard a twig snaps into half. He turns around to meet a human pointing her spear at him. He growls fiercely.

"You killed my parents, bear. Now I'm going to kill you." [Name] pointed threateningly at him.

Kageyama understood her and tilts his head.

"Since when did I kill your parents?"

[Name]'s jaw dropped and screamed, followed by Kageyama roaring in fear at her screaming.

She dropped to the ground, backing away.

"Y-YOU – YOU JUST TALKED. BEARS CAN'T TALK! THEY ONLY... TALK IN THEIR LANGUAGE BUT I UNDERSTOOD YOU!"

Kageyama relaxed.

"I was not supposed to understand you either, human." The older bear sits down, staring at girl before him. "You're from the tribe not far from here, right? What are you doing here?"

"I live here."

"No no. I mean, what's a girl like you doing deep in the forest?"

"Going for walk – hold on, I'm supposed to kill you!" [Name] stands up. "But instead, I'm talking to you!"

"I'm flattered." The bear dead panned.

[Name] shakes her head. "Your kind killed my parents at the glacier."

"My kind?" He deeply thought. "Oh, you mean a bear killed your parents?"

"Don't say that with a straight face, stupid bear!"

Kageyama flinched. "You're the stupid one, human! I wasn't the one wandering in the forest alone! Some creatures might kill you if it weren't for me."

"Hah, so you weren't going to?"

"You look threatening; it's a reflex to protect ourselves," he said. "Maybe your parents died because they bothered some bear. We're not killers."

"You brown balls of fat stole our fishes!"

"Brown balls of fat....?! Now, you listen—"

They both continue to argue.
