Corbyn's POV
-August 27th-
I walked into my high school for the first day this year, I'll be graduating this year so I'm pretty excited. I walked to my locker and put everything in it.
"Corbyn!" I heard Jonah yell from the other end of the hallway.
"Hey Jonah! How was your summer?" I asked as he approached me.
"Great, How was yours?" he asked.
"It was great," I answered as I closed my locker.
"Hey babe," I heard a girl say as she wrapped her arms around Jonah. She had dark brown hair, like Jonah's, it was down to about her mid back, she had light brown eyes and she was about 5'4.
"Hey, so uh Corbyn, this is my girlfriend Maddison, we've been together for about a month and a half, and Maddison this is my best friend, Corbyn," Jonah explained. My heart completely shattered, I've had a secret crush on Jonah for about a year now, and as we were finally getting close to each other again, he gets a girlfriend. I don't think he'll ever like me back, but I can't help who I like. "Corbyn?" Jonah asked waving a hand in front of my face.
"Oh sorry, Uh hi, I'm Corbyn," I said waving to Maddison.
"Hi Corbyn! It's nice to meet you," Maddison replied with a smile.
"I better get to class, see you guys later," I said then walked to my math class.
*Lunch*
I sat down at the usual table that Jonah and I always sit at together. I waited for him to come but I heard his laugh coming from another table. I looked over and saw Jonah with his arm around Maddison talking to the popular kids, this isn't the Jonah that I know. I sighed as I started to eat my lunch.
*After school*
As soon as I got home I threw my bag to the side and went upstairs to my room, I plopped onto my bed and got out my phone to see a text from Jonah.
Jo: Hey Corbyn! What's up?
Me: Why would you care?
Jo: Because we're friends...?
Me: I thought you would be making out with Maddison or hanging out with the popular kids
Jo: What do you mean?
Me: I was waiting for you to come sit with me at lunch like we always do, but you never came
Jo: Corbyn, I'm so sorry, they invited me to sit with them and I felt bad saying no
Me: Well last year you had no problem saying no to their invitation
Jo: I'm sorry, I completely forgot that we sit together
Me: You forgot? We've been sitting together since the first day of high school, how could you forget?
Jo: I'm sorry Corbyn

I put my phone down and after about half an hour I heard it go off multiple times, to the point where it was annoying. I got up and grabbed my phone and read all of the messages from Jonah.
Jo: Corbyn this is Jonah's mom, Jonah just fainted and we're at the hospital if you'd like to come, I know that you guys are in an argument but I thought I'd let you know
Me: I'll be there as soon as I can
I shoved my phone into my back pocket and ran downstairs, I quickly put on my shoes then ran out to my car. I pulled out of the driveway and quickly drove to the hospital. I ran into the hospital and went up to the front desk.
"I'm here for Jonah Frantzich," I told the lady at the front desk.
"Ok, floor 2 room 204," She said.
"Thank you," I said then ran to the stairs. I ran up a story then ran down the hall until I found Jonah's room, I ran to his side and his parents were on the other side on him. Jonah was laying almost lifeless on the bed, he had an IV hooked up to him as well as other wires. I sat down beside him and grabbed onto his hand. "I'm sorry, for everything, for blaming you, for getting mad at you, for everything," I said as I cried into his hand.
"We have to go, we'll be back, will you be ok by yourself?" Jonah's mom asked.
"Yeah, I'll be fine," I replied as his parents got up and left. It was now just Jonah and I in the room. "Please be ok Jonah, I need you," I said as I cried some more. "I never got to tell you that, I love you, I love you Jonah."
After a few minutes I felt Jonah squeeze my hand and I looked up and saw Jonah smiling at me. I got up from my seat and hugged him tightly. "I was so worried."
"It's ok, I'm here," he said with a smile. I sat down on his bed beside his torso, he gave me a small smile as he began to sit up. Jonah cupped my face with his hand and before I knew it I felt his soft lips on mine, I was shocked for a little bit then started kissing back. "I love you too Corbyn," Jonah said when he pulled away.
"What about Maddison?" I asked.
"I broke up with her once I noticed that I was ignoring my best friend."
"I'm sorry Jonah, I didn't mean for that to happen," I said looking down.
"It's ok, I knew she wasn't the one for me," he said then pulled up my chin with his finger. He brought his lips to mine again and we shared a passionate kiss.
When we pulled away I smiled at him and held onto his hand.
"Jonah, will you be my boyfriend?" I asked.
"Of course," he replied then kissed me quickly. I smiled at him then laid down in the hospital bed beside him, then his parents came back in.
"Jonah!" Jonah's mom said shocked as she ran to his side and hugged him.
"Hi mom," Jonah replied, then Jonah's dad came over and hugged him.
"I'm going to go get dinner, see you later," I said then gave Jonah a quick kiss. I got out of the bed and started walking down the hall, I suddenly heard Jonah's parents yelling. I walked back to the room and saw Jonah tearing up while his parents were yelling at him. "What's wrong?" I asked.
"Just leave Corbyn," Jonah's mom told me.
'I'm sorry,' Jonah mouthed. I just looked down and walked away, I got into my car and drove home.
When I got home I grabbed dinner then went up to my room.
Jonah's POV
As soon as Corbyn left my parents both looked shocked.
"What the fuck was that about?" my dad shouted.
"While you guys were gone Corbyn asked me to be his boyfriend and I said yes," I answered.
"What is wrong with you?" My mom now shouted.
"What do you mean?" I asked. "What's wrong with us being together?"
"It's wrong, that's what's wrong with it," she replied.
"Why can't I just be happy?" I asked, my eyes starting to tear up. Corbyn walked back into the room.
"What's wrong?" he asked.
"Just leave Corbyn," my mom told him. Corbyn started to look upset and I mouthed 'I'm sorry' to him, Corbyn just looked at the ground then left.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" I asked my mom.
"Language Jonah," My mom warned.
"Well I'm sorry that my own fucking parents don't support me," I shouted.
"You're going to break up with Corbyn and we're going to help you, this is just a faze," My mom said calmly while holding my hand, I quickly pulled it away.
"No mom! It's not 'just a faze' I love Corbyn and if you don't support me then fuck you," I shouted at my parents.
"Jonah, don't speak to us like that," my father scolded.
"Can you guys just leave?" I asked, almost a whisper.
"Fine," My mom said then they both left, I just started crying.
Corbyn's POV
I got out my phone and texted Jonah.
Me: Hey Jo, I saw that you were upset, are you ok?
Jo: No, my own parents don't support us
Me: Are they still with you?
Jo: No I told them to leave
Me: Want me to come?
Jo: Yes please
Me: Ok I'll be there soon hold tight
Jo: Ok
I put my phone in my back pocket then went downstairs and put on my shoes.
"Where are you going honey?" My mom asked.
"Going to see Jonah," I replied.
"Ok, be back soon," she said.
"I will," I said then quickly went to my car. I drove to the hospital then ran up to Jonah's room. I ran over to Jonah and laid down in the bed beside him.
"Why don't they support us?" he asked a tears fell down his face
"I don't know baby," I said then kissed the top of his head. I wrapped my arms around his waist and pulled him closer to me. Jonah cried into my chest and I just rubbed his back.
"Do your parents know about us?" Jonah asked me as we pulled away.
"No, not yet," I replied.
"Will they support us?" he asked.
"I don't know, but no matter what I'll still love you just as much," I told him.
"Ok," he said quietly.
"It's getting late, you go to sleep," I told him.
"Will you stay with me until I fall asleep?" Jonah asked me.
"I'll be here all night with you," I told him as I moved hair out of his face.
"But you should get some sleep at your house, you have school tomorrow," he said quietly.
"I'm not going to school tomorrow, I'm staying with you," I told him.
"Ok, goodnight," he said then closed his eyes. I cuddled into him and also fell asleep.
*The next day*
I woke up with Jonah still in my arms sleeping, then Jonah's doctor came into the room.
"Jonah can go whenever he's ready," she said quietly as she noticed he was still asleep.
"Ok, thank you," I replied with a smile, she smiled back then turned around and left. I ran my fingers through Jonah's hair as I waited for him to wake up. I felt him shifting a little bit and he turned around to face me. "Good morning," I welcomed then kissed his forehead.
"Good morning," he replied with a smile.
"You can leave whenever you're ready," I told him.
"Ok, let me change then we can leave," he said.
"Ok," I replied then I walked out of his room.
After a few minutes Jonah came out and he had black, ripped jeans with a black t-shirt on. "Ready?" I asked.
"Yeah, let's go," he said. I took his hand into mine and we both smiled at each other as we exited the hospital.
When we got to our neighbourhood Jonah decided to stay at my house since he's in an argument with his parents, we walked into my house holding hands and my mom was there with her arms crossed.
"Where were you?" She shouted. I felt Jonah get tensed up but I squeezed his hand to let him know that it's ok.
"Jonah needed someone to stay with him so I stayed," I told her.
"Well you weren't at his house," she replied.
"That's because he was in the hospital," I shouted.
"Watch your voice young man," my mother said. "Why are you guys holding hands?"
"Because, we're together," I said calmly.
"What? You're joking," My mom said, disbelief filling her voice.
"No, I'm not joking," I told her, then I put my arm around Jonah's waist.
"Get out," my mom said crossing her arms again.
"What?" I asked.
"Get out of my house, if you're gay then you're not welcome here," she said.
"You know what? Fuck you, I thought you would be more supportive, like a true mother would. But I guess I was wrong," I said then grabbed Jonah's hand then left the house, slamming the door behind me. Jonah and I walked until we reached a park, then we sat on the swings and held hands.
"Where are we going to go?" Jonah asked me.
"My aunt and uncle live not too far from here, I'm sure they'd let us stay there," I told him.
"Are you sure they'll let us?" Jonah asked.
"I'm sure, they've always supported me through everything I've ever done, don't worry," I said as I smiled at him.
"Ok, let's go then," he said as we got off of the swings. I held his hand as we walked to my aunt and uncle's house.
When we arrived at their house I knocked on the door gently, my Aunt opened it.
"Corbyn! Hi!" She exclaimed as she pulled me into a hug. "Who's this?"
"Aunt Kayla this is my boyfriend Jonah," I introduced.
"Hi Jonah! It's nice to meet you!" Aunt Kayla said as she hugged him quickly.
"You too," Jonah replied.
"Come on in!" She said as she opened the door more for us. "Your uncle is at work and your cousin is at school but did you need anything?"
"Actually, we were wondering if we could stay here for a while," I said with my head down.
"Of course you can! May I ask why?" Aunt Kayla asked.
"Yeah, none of our parents support our relationship, and they kicked us out," I said as Jonah squeezed my hand.
"Ok, let me go set up the guest room, you boys help yourself to whatever, Corbyn knows where everything is," Aunt Kayla said then walked down the hallway.
"Are you hungry?" I asked Jonah.
"No, I'm ok, thanks," he replied.
"Do you want something to drink?" I asked.
"Sure, I'll just have water, please," he said.
"Ok," I replied. I got up and filled two cups with water then gave one to Jonah and took a sip of mine. I noticed that Jonah looked upset so I squeezed his hand gently. "You ok?" I asked.
"Not really, my own family doesn't love me anymore," he said tearing up.
"Jo, they still love you, they just need some time to get used to us being together, before you know it we'll be back in our own houses," I said gently then gave him a quick kiss. "Want to go to the living room so we can cuddle?" I asked, a smile appeared on Jonah's face as he nodded. "Ok."
I lead him to the living room and we got underneath a blanket and cuddled into each other, I put a movie on Netflix then we both slowly fell asleep.
*A few hours later*
I woke up with Jonah in my arms sleeping, I saw my Aunt doing something in the kitchen.
"Oh good you're awake, I was just making lunch, do you want to wake Jonah up?" she asked quietly.
"Sure," I replied. I rubbed Jonah's back then kissed his forehead gently. "Babe, wake up, lunch is almost ready." Jonah opened his eyes slowly and looked at me with a small smile. "Are you hungry?" I asked, Jonah gave a small nod. "Ok."
*That afternoon*
As Jonah and I finished our movie my cousin, Sarah, walked in the door. Sarah is in 11th grade so she's only 1 year younger than us.
"Corbyn! I haven't seen you in forever," Sarah said running to me and giving me a hug.
"Hey Monkey," I replied, for some reason Monkey has always been her nickname.
"Who's this?" Sarah asked with a smile looking at Jonah.
"Sarah, this is my boyfriend Jonah," I replied.
"Hi! It's so nice to meet you!" Sarah said then hugged Jonah. "What are you guys watching?"
"We were just about to pick out another movie, do you want to pick it?" I asked Sarah.
"Sure!" She replied then took the remote.
*End of school year*
I walked off of the stage, with my graduation certificate, to Jonah. Jonah and I are still living with my Aunt and Uncle and we're still happy together. As I sat down beside Jonah he smiled at me, I grabbed his hand and squeezed it.
"I'm proud of you," he said quietly.
"I'm proud of you too," I replied then kissed his cheek.
*Ten Years later*
I gave our two year old child, Lauren, a kiss on her forehead then left her room quietly. I went to my and Jonah's room and laid down beside him.
"I can't believe we've been together for so long," I said to my husband.
"Me either, it's been a crazy ride but there's nobody that I'd rather go through it with," he said then gave me a quick kiss.
"I love you Jonah," I said quietly.
"I love you too Corbyn."
