'Merlin just called me lovely'

We were trapped. And that was an understatement on its own. The crystals and stones that fell from the ceiling had now barricaded our little group indefinitely and even with Aaarrrgghh's strength, there was definitely no way we were gonna get out of here.
"Too big" Aaarrrgghh grunts as he, once again, attempts to push the large stone.
"It's okay wingman, you tried" Toby comforts the big troll.
"Oh my Merlin, we're going to die! I don't want to die by a falling stone! Jim! Tell me we aren't going to die!" I yell as I grab his shoulders and shake him around in a panic.
"Woah! We aren't going to die!" Jim assures as he rests his hands over my own that sit on his shoulders. "Okay, we all just need to relax"
"That is the opposite of what we should be doing. We're on the distinctly wrong side of the caverns collapse" Blinky explains as he attempts to pull the rock. "Merlin's tomb will now apparently become our own"
Now that freaked me out.
"Oh Merlin's balls!" I cry out as crystals and stones continued to fall around us. "I am going to die by a rock!"
"Hey, maybe you'll die by a crystal instead" Claire says reassuringly.
"Yeah, but I don't think I'm lucky enough for that to happen" I sigh sadly, knowing my death won't be by a crystal and instead will be by a rock.
"Can everyone stop talking like we're going to die!" Toby yells, and instantly after, a grunting sound rumbled through the walls as dozens more crystals and rocks fell above us.
We all yell and quickly run over to Blinky and Aaarrrgghh, the latter covering us with his large arm.
"We could go that way! There's an opening!" Claire points out as I turn and follow her line of sight.
I don't waste a second before I quickly walk towards the opening, everyone quickly behind me as we rush to get somewhere other then here.
"This afforded us the opportunity to be trapped somewhere else" Blinky worries as I roll my eyes at the troll and continue to take the lead down the dark path.
"Or it's a way out! Stop being so moody and think positively for once" I say to the troll as he scoffs at me.
"I hardly think you of all people should be calling me moody" Blinky mutters under his breath making me gasp and turn to him.
"Woah, attitude from Blinky, now I've seen everything" I remark before I notice Jim still standing by the entrance to the pathway.
I sigh and walk back, letting Toby and Blinky lead. I place a hand on Jim's shoulder, worriedly looking towards him.
"Jim?" I ask softly, making him sigh and place his hand over mine.
"We can't leave him behind like this" Jim sighs as he looks out to the falling crystals, Draal clearly plaguing his thoughts.
"He doesn't deserve it, but sometimes there isn't anything you can do. You just have to live with it, it's how life works. It's unfair, and unpredictable" I say softly as Jim frowns at the ground.
"That doesn't really make me feel better" He mumbles making me sigh and softly kiss his cheek with a fond smile.
"It wasn't supposed to. You know Draal, he'd want us to keep going, he'd whack you over the head if he knew you wanted to stay and find his body" I say with a sad smile making Jim laugh quietly.
"I know your right, but I still hate it" Jim mumbles.
"I know" I say softly before letting my hand slide off his shoulder as I motion for him to follow me and the others.
We all make our way through the fallen crystals and stones, helping each other over them as we go. I smile at Jim as he grabs my hand and helps me over a particularly large crystal, squeezing his hand in thanks before letting go.
"Um, this isn't taking us out" Toby says nervously as Aaarrrgghh lifts the boy over a crystal on the floor.
"We need to find a way to go up" Jim as I reach my hand down to Claire and help her up.
"Hmm, right. Yeah, look for some stairs. Or better yet, an elevator" Toby says sarcastically.
I smile as Aaarrrgghh hits his head on a crystal before ducking under it as I continue to follow the large troll.
We seem to have found another large cave, with a few different ways to go.
"That way" Aaarrrgghh says before we all follow his lead.
I'm not particularly sure where we are headed, but I trust Aaarrrgghh's nose.
We continue to follow him before I notice Aaarrrgghh has stopped inside a cave. We all walk around him before gasping at the sight in front of us.
In the middle of the cave, lying on a table made of crystals and stone, was Merlin.
"Merlin's balls" I gasp, getting a weird look from Jim.
"Merlin's balls?" Jim questions in a tone that suggests that I shouldn't be saying that with the Merlin in the room with us (even if he's asleep or something).
"Well, not his actual balls-" I start to say before Jim cuts me off by placing his hand over my mouth.
"I'm gonna stop you there" Jim shivers, not wanting his girlfriend to be talking about this.
"Great globus, it's him" Blinky gasps as we all look to his laying form.
"Is it really?" Claire asks in disbelief.
"Must be" Aaarrrgghh grunts.
"Merlin" Jim gasps with a small chuckle.
I notice that his body seems to be covered in some weird spider web silk. He looked quite ethereal for an old man.
A glowing from Jim's pocket caught my attention as I quickly slide my hand into his pocket and pull out the glowing stone that used to be in his amulet.
"Woah" I mumble, gaining the groups attention as I slowly hand the stone to Jim.
Jim looks to the stone confused before cautiously making his way towards Merlin's body.
I share a look with Claire as we watch Jim, not being able to see what's happening.
Jim suddenly shrieks and falls to the ground, the rest of us screaming bloody murder as Merlin shoots up, gasping in a large breath of air before coughing.
I quickly rush over to Jim, grabbing his arms and pulling him from the floor as the boy holds a protective arm in front of me.
I stare at Merlin with complete and utter shock as he continues to have a coughing fit. He seems to calm down after a second and lays back down, not seeing us yet.
He then slowly turns his head to us, looking at Jim with a raised eyebrow.
"Are you the Trollhunter?" Merlin asks questionably as he looks the boy up and down, shifting his gaze to me for a second with a raised eyebrow before turning back to Jim.
"I-I, uh-" Jim stumbles in disbelief, not being able to form any words.
"I thought you'd be taller" Merlin says confused, Jim still trying to stutter out words but Merlin continues to talk. "Yes, I expected much taller. And older. How old are you? Ten?"
I choke down a laugh at that as I look up to Jim, who continues to nervously smile at Merlin.
"Uh, sixteen" Jim chuckles sheepishly making Merlin shrug.
"I guess I was only off by, mmm, six plus four, carry the one...fourteen years" Merlin shrugs before he looks to me questionably. "I'm assuming that's your spouse?"
Me and Jim's eyes widen at that. We both start to splutter over each other nervously, sharing a panicked look.
"N-no! Uh, this is Y/n, she's my g-girlfriend" Jim stumbles out with a small laugh, sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck.
"Same thing" Merlin shrugs before smiling at me with a nod. "Quite a lovely dear, indeed"
I nervously laugh as I look to Jim with wide eyes, leaning towards him.
"Merlin just called me lovely" I mutter to him in shock, making the boy smile.
"Yeah, and to think you were talking about his balls-" Jim starts to mutter back making me splutter and cover his mouth with my hand, glaring at him as he stares at me amused.
"Holy Merlin, it's really you!" Toby exclaims from behind us, Merlin turning his attention from Jim and I to him (thankfully).
"And just what kind of troll are you?" Merlin asks confused as he looks the boy up and down.
"I'm not a troll! I'm a Toby" Toby says quite offended.
Merlin waves him off before turning his attention to a nervous Claire.
"And who is this lovely creature" Merlin asks making Claire chuckle, but Blinky cuts off whatever she's about to say.
"Blinkous Galadrigal, at your ser-" Blinky starts to introduce himself, but Merlin waves him off.
"Not you. You" Merlin says as he points to Claire.
"Uh, Claire Nunez, sir" Claire introduces awkwardly making me smile in amusement (although I wasn't much better).
"A pleasure, my dear" Merlin says earnestly as he puts a hand to his chest and nods to the girl.
"Oh, she gets to be my dear" Toby huffs in irritation.
"Your sageness, we-" Blinky starts to say but stops as Merlin is clearly ignoring him, instead cracking his bones and stretching.
I grimace at the cracking noises that echo through the cave.
"One more. Ah...oh, yes. That's better" Merlin nods at a particularly large crack.
"He was asleep for a really long time" Claire shrugs as we all watch him.
"I know this feels good" I nod, thinking of the satisfaction of cracking your body parts after that long.
"He was just sleeping? Shouldn't he be..." Jim trails off.
"Well rested?" Blinky questions.
"Dead?" Jim finishes, a confused look on his face.
"True, but he is a wizard" Blinky shrugs before we watch as Merlin suddenly stumbles, falling into Aaarrrgghh with a gasp.
"Oop! Prop me up, would you, you giant thing" Merlin says as Aaarrgghh pushes him to his feet.
We all start to grimace as Merlin continues to crack his body parts. I don't know how he can crack his body so much.
"I seriously don't wanna be old" Toby mutters with a grimace.
"Oh, that's good" Merlin nods in satisfaction as he starts to bring his hands to his feet, a crack echoing through the cave after each movement.
"How long is this gonna take?" I mumble to Claire, the girl just helplessly shrugging her shoulders.
I cringe as he grabs his head and cracks it to the side a few times, before he seems to be done as he smiles at the group.
"Okay then, first things first. Where might my staff be?" Merlin asks, only to raise an eyebrow at the silence.
I knew the staff thing was going to bite us in the ass. How are we supposed to tell Merlin that we lost his staff? To Gunmar of all the possible trolls!
"Staff of Avalon? About yea high?" Merlin asks as he gestures with his hands. "Emerald at the top. It is rather dashing"
"We might have...lost it, a little" Toby grimaces, seemingly the only one brave enough to talk.
"Lost it a little?" Merlin questions confused.
"Gunmar took it" Jim explains.
"Oh, is that all? Well, its not the staff that's lost then. Just hope" Merlin sighs bitterly as he walks back to the table he was sleeping on, laying his hands down on it.
"How'd you know we were gonna come looking for you? I mean, your staff?" Jim questions as he walks over to Merlin.
"Because Jim...I am your father" Merlin explains seriously.
Immediately we all gasp as we look up to the man. He can't be serious? Barbara twisted in the sheets with Merlin?
"Kidding!" Merlin laughs, immediately causing everyone to calm down.
Wait...did Merlin just make a Star Wars joke? I'm not going to ask how he knows Star Wars as I know it will mess with my brain.
"I can glimpse the future. It's not a perfect gift, though" Merlin explains with a shrug as he sits upon his table.
"You expected me to be older" Jim realises, confirming why he looked so confused when he first looked at Jim.
"And taller" Merlin nods, continuing to dig into Jim's poor self esteem.
"Clearly, he foresaw our arrival here to rouse him from his slumber" Blinky explains excitedly.
"Why were you sleeping in the first place? I mean, I thought you were dead...no offence" I tell Merlin.
I cant believe I can now say that I've spoken to Merlin. This may be the best day of my life.
"Not dead, but it was the cost of battle, my dear" Merlin explains as I try not to smile at Merlin calling me my dear.
"What battle?" Aaarrrgghh grunts.
"The battle of Killahead, of course" Merlin says like it's obvious.
"Excuse me, your wizard-ness, but Aaarrrgghh and I were present at Killahead, and neither of us recall seeing you there" Blinky explains as Merlin hums in slight annoyance. "And I've read volume upon volume of history books, and none mention-"
"History is just an account of what supposedly happened, but it's rarely the full story, if ever" Merlin's cuts the troll off.
I gasp as Merlin circles his hands around, creating a green mist that swirls around his hands.
"What's this now?" Toby gasps as we all watch his hands curiously.
"I'm opening a window to the past" Merlin explains as I watch the green swirls get bigger.
"This is gonna be very cool if we don't end up dying" Toby gasps as I feel Jim grab onto my hand.
Merlin swirls around the mist before it explodes around us, and our surroundings change.

I knew I had to add Y/n fangirling over Merlin, because she loves to use his name to curse to herself
Fangirling bc Merlin is played by Filch from Harry Potter (aka my husband) HAHA
Also I'm still debating with myself about if I'm going to write the movie or not. If I do write the movie, then I am 100% changing the ending, so I need some ideas on how I can do the ending.
So please comment some ideas that are semi realistic to what could actually happen, and ideas that tie the ending up properly 😍🙏🏼
