'For once I agree with Toby'

"You did not message your mum that!" I say with wide eyes as I look over Jim's shoulder to the message he sent his mum (that was supposed to calm her and make her feel better).
"What's wrong with it?" Jim asks he he reads over it again while we walk.
"On our way to Merlin's tomb, we'll let you know if we make it out alive?" I read before looking to Jim with a blank expression as we continue to walk after getting off the gyre (it was horrible as usual).
"I added a winky smiley face!" Jim says in defence as I just roll my eyes and snatch the phone from Jim.
"Everyone, smile!" I say as I stand infront of everyone with the phone in hand, snapping a selfie of all of us before sending it to Barbara. "There, that'll make her feel better"
"It's cute how well you know my mum" Jim comments as I roll my eyes with a blush on my face.
"Shut up, I just want her to like me" I mumble before stopping in front of a waterfall.
"Y/n, she loves you, trust me" Jim says with a smile as Toby nods along with a laugh.
"You might as well be her second child" Toby exclaims as I chuckle.
We all walk through the waterfall, expecting to get wet but all of us stay dry and instead make it to the other side of the cave.
"Whoa, a hidden entrance" Jim says as I look around the place.
"Yeah, but to where?" Claire asks as she stands next to me.
It's quite dark so I shake my hand to get it to glow, but nothing seems to happen. I continue to shake it around crazily before sighing in defeat.
"Great, my powers are being stupid" I grumble before jumping back as Toby's hammer falls out of his hand and lands where I was standing. "Watch it Toby! That almost hit my foot!"
"The magic in my hammers gone!" Toby says with wide eyes as the actual hammer part disappears and only the handle is left.
"No magics here" Blinky says as he reads writing on the wall. "It appears this hallowed tomb is warded against sorcery"
"But my magic is my only personality trait" I exclaim in annoyance.
"That's not true, you also have your sarcasm and loudness" Toby assures as he pats my back, not noticing the glare I give him.
"My shadow staff doesn't work either" Claire grumbles as she tries to activate it but it stays as a handle.
I then notice the claw marks on the wall as I slowly approach them and bring my hand to graze against them.
"There are claw marks on this wall, and they look fresh" I say worriedly, scared that something could be here with us.
"Hmm. Yes, yes" Blinky nods as he stands next to me and analyses them. "As if, a struggle"
Toby started to walk around but suddenly tripped on a broken chain laying on the ground, falling on his face with a grunt.
"Draal" Aaarrrgghh grunts as he picks up the chain from the ground.
"Draal is free?" Blinky asks as my eyes widen at the name of the troll.
It's been ages since we've seen him, especially since he got taken by Gunmar and put under his control. I didn't realise until now how much I've missed the troll. We were always quite close.
"If there's no magic here, maybe Gunmars hold on him wore off" Jim suggests.
"Then we have to find him" I say immediately as Jim nods his head.
"We will. We're now not just here for that staff. We can save Draal" Jim says in determination.
We continue to walk around the cave, keeping our eyes peeled for any sign of Draal, or something that could lead to the staff.
We soon walk into some kind of workshop that Merlin used. It looked old, and most things were dusty and rusted. It clearly hasn't been looked after or used in years.
"No way we can climb that" Jim says as we look up to a wide hole at the top of a wall, but no way to climb up to it, meaning no way out.
"There must be some apparatus we can use" Blinky says as he looks around. "A ladder, perhaps"
"Ugh! What is this? A tomb for Merlin's extra junk?" Toby asks as he looks at a desk that holds a plate of half eaten fish, mouldy bread and a sack full of seeds.
"For once I agree with Toby" I say as I swipe my finger on a nearby shelf and find it covered in dust. "This place is a dump"
"Thank you Y/n, for agreeing with me-" Toby says before yelling as he steps on some kind of wired stone slab on the ground that immediately creates a rattling sound in the building before everything changes.
The once blue lit room turns into a soft yellow tint colour, the food that was rotting on the table now completely new and the dust and rubbish laying around has disappeared and is now clean and well taken care of.
"What did you do Toby?" I exclaim with wide eyes as I look around.
"I-I don't know! I just stepped on this and-" Toby says as he quickly takes his foot off the stone slab and as soon as he does that, everything goes back to the unclean and old workshop it was when we got here.
"W-what was that?" Claire asks confused.
"By Gorgus!" Blinky gasps before looking to Toby. "Tobias, press that stone again!"
Toby does what he says and everything goes to the clean and well lit workshop.
"Awesome-sauce! This feels super weird" Toby says as we all look around, except Toby who stays on the stone tile.
"Wait. The switch makes everything new" Claire says as she points to the once cob webbed painting that now looks completely new and clean.
"H-how does it do that? Does it magically clean the place up?" I ask confused as I look at the weird inventions.
"Or it's somehow jumping to the past" Jim says as he inspects a sword on the wall. "That's crazy though, right?"
"Jim, we fight trolls as a living. Nothings crazy anymore" I say with a small laugh as Claire nods with a smile.
"You are onto something, Master Jim" Blinky nods. "We do seem to have somehow flung into the past. Or at least, the room has!"
"How far have we gone?" I ask as I look around in amazement.
"By wear patterns on the rocks, I'd say this is hundreds of years ago!" Blinky explains in excitement.
"Ooh! Olden times. Today!" Toby starts to say over and over as he steps on and off the rock slap, making the room change over and over that it starts to hurt my eyes. "Olden times. Today!"
"Tobias...?" Blinky warns in annoyance but Toby continues. "Tobias!"
"Oh, sorry" Toby says sheepishly as he lays the sack of seeds on the rock slab instead, accidentally spilling some seeds as he does so.
Claire crouches down and picks up a seed of the ground, a concentrated look on her face before she gasps.
"I know how to get out!" Claire says as she quickly grabs a pot and moves it near the wall, planting the seed inside it. "Okay. Toby, take the bag off the tile"
Toby does so and as he does, the once seed has now sprouted into a giant wall of entangled roots that go all the way up to the wall.
"Whoa!" Toby chuckles as we all stare at it in disbelief.
"Let's climb" Aaarrrgghh grunts as we quickly start to make our way up.
"Claire, you are brilliant!" I yell as I look down to the girl as I climb.
"A genius!" Jim adds as Claire and I laugh.
"Yeah, good work Claire" Toby says with slight sarcasm in his voice. "And hey, good job Toby, for finding that bag of seeds"
"Oh of course, we could not have done it without you Toby. You really are the heart of this team" I say sarcastically as Jim snorts, but Toby didn't seem to hear the sarcasm in my voice.
"Thank you Y/n, at least someone appreciates me" Toby huffs as we continue to climb the roots.
We quickly make it to the top and find ourselves in another dark cave.
"Ugh!" Toby grunts as he trips on a rock. "Wish we had a light"
"Oh wait" Claire says as she grabs out a torch from her bag. "Ugh. I hate it when my parents are right"
"I love it when your parents are right" I say with a smirk as the girl rolls her eyes and shines the torch forward.
We all gasp as we find cave art along the walls of the cave. I turn around and realise the cave is just one huge room.
"Whoa!" Toby gasps in amazement.
"Great Gorgus!" Blinky gasps as we look around at the cave art shown with the torch. "This appears to be a depiction of history. A timeline"
Claire shines the torch on a certain image of Merlin holding a staff that immediately gets Jim's attention.
"The staff of Avalon" Jim gasps as he stares at it with a sparkle in his eyes.
"Merlins most powerful relic" Blinky explains. "He built it to channel the arcane energies of the universe itself"
"This is amazing" I say, almost completely speechless as we continue to walk around and look at the images of history.
"Merlins sacrifice to banish Morgana" Blinky explains as he watches me stare at it in fascination. "His cause carried on by the champions he left behind"
"The trollhunters" I say as I look at an image of the old troll hunter, holding the sword of daylight to the sky.
"Whoa! Check this out!" Toby calls as we all stop in front of the image the boys looking at. "Freaky. This looks just like us!"
I stare at the drawing completely speechless. It was us. Claire, Toby, Jim and I were here on the wall. We're apart of this timeline. We're history.
Wait...history?
"Whoa! That's us. Here" Claire says and I realise we're standing in the same spots as we are on the wall.
Jim's on the end with me next to him, Toby on my other side and Claire on the other end.
"Impossible! The timeline appears to continue beyond the present" Blinky explains but I shake my head, still trying to wrap my head around all of it.
"No, no it can't be" Jim gasps.
"No, look. We're standing in the same spots as well. It's not going beyond the present, it's just what's happening now..." I say as Claire slowly moves the torch upwards.
A drawing of a familiar enemy. Angor Rot loomed above our drawings and I suddenly start to feel cold.
"Guys, if this is a timeline..." Claire explains as we all stare at eachother with fearful expressions.
We slowly turn around and stare into the darkness. Claire slowly rises the torch and shines it upon someone I never wanted to see again.
"We meet again, Trollhunter" Angor Rot growls, his face all scratched and one of his eyes gone, which seems to make him even scarier then he was before.
The four of us let out loud screams at the sight of Angor Rot, but Aaarrrgghh blocks our view of him quickly as he jumps infront of us and growls menacingly at the troll.
And then Angor Rot pounced.

Didn't want this chapter to get too long, because there's a fight scene coming up and it's going to take FOREVER to write so I thought I'd finish this chapter here
