'No respect at all'

Another night in Arcadia only means one thing...trolls. Every night, every day of the week, we have been scouring the area for Gunmars gumm-gumm's and tonight was no different.
Jim, Claire and I were currently chasing after another one of Gunmars minions and they always have to make it difficult for us.
I grunt as I swiftly jump over someone's fence with Jim slightly infront of me and Claire just behind me as we continue to run after the Gumm-Gumm.
We continue to run after it as it moves onto the street and continues to sprint ahead of us, pausing as it looks at one of Claire's mums signs for her campaign before continuing to run off.
"He knows where our hideout is!" I say as the Gumm-Gumm continues to run ahead.
"Which wouldn't have happened if you and Jim weren't playing uno instead of keeping look-out" Claire says as she manages a small smirk in our direction, despite her tried state.
Ever since Claire and I created the portal, weird things have been happening. Claire seems to have a never ending cold and has some kind of insomnia and I constantly have a horrible cough while also having the end of my fingers turn black every time I use my magic. Not too mention my chest always hurts every time I try to use my magic and my F/c energy has gone so much darker that it's becoming terrifying for me to use.
To say things are looking down for us, would be an understatement.
"Not our fault and I totally won!" I say as I see Jim roll his eyes from next to me.
What a sore loser.
"Focus! We can't let him get back to Gunmar" Jim says with a pant as we continue to chase after the Gumm-Gumm.
"He's heading towards Arbor street!" Claire points out as we watch him turn down the street.
"Jim, please tell me you put up signs there" I say with worried eyes as I watch the boy look at me confused.
"I thought you did!" Jim says with wide eyes as I let out a frustrated sigh.
We suddenly stop at the start of the street as I watch the Gumm-Gumm smash into a car parked on the side as the cars alarms blare loudly.
"No respect at all" I mutter annoyed.
"We better make this quick before the whole neighbourhood finds out" Jim notes as I nod before letting out a loud cough as Claire pats my back.
"We got it" Claire says for me as she grabs out her staff and opens a portal as we both run in, not listening to Jim's yells of complaint.
The portal opens up again as we find ourselves standing in front of the bull-like creature as it comes charging towards us.
I put my hands up and go to use my magic before a sharp pain comes across my chest as I let out a large grunt. Claire doesn't waste a second before grabbing my arms and throwing us to the side as the Gumm-Gumm charges right where we just stood.
"You alright?" I hear Jim ask as Claire lets out a loud sneeze as I continue to pant loudly on the ground.
"Don't slow down for us" I say quickly as Jim nods and continues to run after the Gumm-Gumm.
"You good?" Claire quickly asks me with a sniffle as I nod and quickly stand up as we continue to run after the Gumm-Gumm.
We sprint just behind Jim as we swiftly leap over the upcoming fences before overtaking Jim as the boy falls to the ground after the Gumm-Gumm throws a table at him.
"You alright Jim?" I yell back to the boy as I watch him give me a lazy thumbs up as I nod and continue to run.
Claire and I jump over the fence just in time to watch Blinky hold up a sign to the creature, although of course he somehow managed to hold up the wrong sign.
I go to step forward to help (even though I'm not much help at the moment) but stop short as Jim jumps over the fence and quickly stabs the Gumm-Gumm with his sword as it turns to stone and crumbles to the ground.
"Good job Trollhunter" I comment with a smirk as i crouch down and look at the debris on the ground.
"All in a days work" Jim says as he flips his sword in the air cockily as I roll my eyes.
Suddenly the lights in the house turned on and that's when I realised we were currently in someone's backyard.
We don't waste a second as we all quickly run away, leaving the stones in the backyard.

"If only Arcadia knew your mums campaign was actually keeping them safe" Jim comments as we walk up the hill to where the current citizens of trollmarket were.
"The signs are no real defence, Master Jim. Merely a Gumm-Gumm deterrent" Blinky comments. "Judging from tonight, I don't know how much longer your sleepy little town will be safe"
"Yeah, well this town isn't the only thing that's sleepy" I say with a yawn as I feel Jim put his arm around my shoulder as I slightly smile.
"That Gumm-Gumm, you think he was once one of you?" Claire asks as I look to the sad looking Aaarrrgghh.
"Hmm. Gunmar turn friends. Sad" Aaarrrgghh says with a dejected sigh.
"We can't think that way guys" Toby comments with the Gumm-Gumm helmet over his head. "He saw where we were hiding the trolls. He would've told Gunmar"
"That may have been our fault" I grimace as I gesture to me and Jim. "We'll be more careful, we swear"
"You'll have to be" Blinky sighs as we walk to the edge of the hill and lookout at the sunrise. "Since he's taken the Heartstone, he has only grown stronger, making his defeat even more difficult, if not impossible"
"Optimistic as always Blinky" I say with a sigh as I can't help but stare at the beautiful orange sunrise.
The sunrise may be the only good thing about scouting at night and doing Trollhunter missions...as well as protecting Arcadia...obviously.
"For weeks, Gunnar's been sending his minions to do his dirty work" Toby says in annoyance as he lifts the heavy helmet off his head and chucks it to the ground. "Why doesn't he come up himself? What's he waiting for?"
"Sadly, that is the question Arcadias fate hangs upon" Blinky says with a sigh. "What is Gunmar plotting next?"
I suddenly let out a loud cough as I feel Jim pat my back softly as I let out a defeated sigh.
"Well this waiting is absolute torture!" I say in annoyance as I pull the sleeves of my top down to cover the back tips on my fingers that are small enough for no one to notice. "I don't know how many of these sessions Claire and I can take! They have us on our last legs"
"I said I'm fine" Claire says with a stubborn sigh as Jim and I share a look before looking back to Claire with a raised eyebrow making the girl sigh. "Although a break would be nice"
A sudden grunt got our attention as I nearly jump out of my skin at the sight of Aaarrrgghh wearing the Gumm-Gumms helmet. He looks almost identical to them.
"Hey! You look just like a Gumm-Gumm" Toby comments with wide eyes.
"Yes" Aaarrrgghh says as I suddenly realise what the troll is insinuating.
"No. Too risky" Jim immediately says, clearly with the same thought process as me. "You can't spy on Gunmar"
"It's too dangerous big guy" I say softly as we all stand infront of the troll.
"We lost you once, old friend" Blinky says sadly.
"Gunmar strong!" Aaarrrgghh says angrily as he pulls the helmet off his head. "Do nothing, Gunnar grow stronger! My choice!"
"It would be a waste of a hulking brute" Claire points out as I sigh and look towards Jim who seems to be lost in thought.
"Jim?" I ask the boy.
"Alright, you get in, you get out. No unnecessary risks" Jim finally says in a stern tone.
Toby doesn't waste a second before running towards Aaarrrgghh and embracing the troll in a hug as Aaarrrgghh happily embraces the boy.
"There's our cue" Blinky finally says as the sun seems to be higher up in the sky and everything seems to be a bit lighter then before. "We shall head back to our refuge. Will you be joining?"
Jim seems to look towards me as I gesture with my eyes to the sunset excitedly, the boy sighing with an amused smile before looking back to the troll.
"Go on. I wanna enjoy the sunrise while we still have 'em" Jim says as he places his arm around my shoulder and walks us towards the edge of the cliff with Toby and Claire following.
I look out to the town with a bittersweet smile on my face. Those lucky oblivious people who have no idea about the dangers that lurk in this town, that have no idea about the sacrifices we make to protect them, that have no idea about the beauty sleep that I've missed.
But as I stand there in Jim's arms with my closest friends with me, I can't help but feel lucky that I get to be apart of this...the good and the bad.

I walk into my house with a sleepy yawn that quickly turns into a coughing fit. The coughing has become a serious pet peeve for me which is very annoying when I get into a coughing fit every few minutes.
"Where were you?" I hear a voice ask as I jump around and spot my mum sitting in the living room.
"I was uh...putting rubbish in the bin. I just woke up" I say nervously as I quickly walk into the kitchen and grab an apple.
"Really? Because it looks like you haven't slept in a century" My mum comments as she spots the eye bags on my face.
"I'm fine" I grumble as I bite into my apple.
"Oh come on...talk to me. The last thing you told me about your life was that you gave up your powers" My mum says sadly as my eyes widen momentarily before I quickly recover.
Of course telling her that was for the best, at least that's how I see it. She doesn't understand my powers as much as she thinks she does, and with her barely being around, I thought it would be best to get rid of the topic altogether.
This means nothing can tie me to being a Trollhunter and my mum can continue to ignore my existence.
"Well I don't see you telling me about your life" I say as I look towards the women who nervously looks down and takes a sip from her tea. "Exactly"
"Just...have a good day at school" She says as I nod as I manage to give her a small smile before walking out the door again.
At this point, I'll probably forget what my house looks like.

Jim, Claire, Toby and I were walking beside our bikes to school, tons of signs in our hands as we placed them around peoples houses.
"Her memories coming back?" I ask with wide eyes as I stick one of Claire's mums signs into the ground.
Apparently Jim's mums been drawing images of all the Trollhunter events that happened, which of course, is very worrying for Jim.
"I wonder if she'll remember her epic love story with Strickler" Claire comments with a sniffle as I let out a chuckle that soon leads to another coughing fit as I beat my fist against my chest.
"You both need to stop using your powers" Jim comments worriedly as I look away from his gaze and continue walking next to my bike. "Claire's had that cold since you opened the portal and you've been have a coughing fit every minute...and don't think I didn't notice your fingers"
I look up at him with wide eyes as I meet Jim's worried gaze.
"The finger thing is probably a side effect and I'm probably just allergic to this new shampoo that I'm using, it probably triggers a coughing fit or something" I quickly make up as I look to the ground.
"I just have a cold" Claire says with a sniffle. "I've survived the Darklands. A little cold won't-"
Claire suddenly let out a loud sneeze as she sniffles with a grimace.
"-maybe I'll take a little break" Claire finally gives in.
"Get that thing off my lawn!" A voice suddenly yells out as we all look towards a grumpy looking man with a moustache.
"Uh, it's okay sir. I'm councilwoman Nunez's daughter" Claire says as she holds up one of the signs. "She just wants your support to keep the neighbourhood crime-free"
"If you don't get that sign out of here, the crime rates about to go up!" He yells angrily as he points the sign at us threateningly.
"Geez, mister! It's just a sign. Everyone else has got one" Toby says as he gestures to the rest of the houses with signs on their lawn.
"I am running against her!" The man yells as he points to a sign in his hand. "Hammes is my name!"
"Well your definitely not getting my vote!" I yell to him with narrowed eyes.
"Why you little-" The man starts to yell as my eyes widen as he steps towards us.
"Alright gotta go!" Claire yells with wide eyes as we all quickly bike off.
"Sorry your gonna lose!" Toby yells to him as the man yells at us in fury as he watches us bike away.
"See ya egg man!" I yell to him as we all laugh.
"Hasta luego!" Claire yells back.
"I will chew you up and spit you out!" The man yells after us as we ride away laughing.

I am sick and decided to write a few chapters cause I'm bored lol
I decided to switch some stuff around and Claire now just has a cold and Y/n has the coughing fits and i added the whole black finger thing yayyyy
I have a whole thing planned out but I need to find the right scenes to execute my genius plans soooo yeah
