Stepdad Pt3

It's been 3 and a bit years now. Colby and I got married and are expecting a little boy very soon, as in weeks soon. As it's been getting closer to the birth we have been buying new baby things and Soph has started to cry a lot. Today is Sophs birthday, she's turning 7 so we have a birthday party planned. Kat, Tara, Devyn, Cassie and Xepher are helping with the decorations while Colby and I are at Chucky cheese with Soph. The boys are getting food ready. We're at the table eating our pizza
"Mummy when the baby comes will you forget about me?"
"Soph is this why you've been upset a lot?" Colby asks and Soph nods her head yes
"Aw baby that's not got to happen. Look having a baby brother will be different, you'll have to share me and Colby but I promise you that we will not forget about you" I say almost in tears
"Soph we both love you very much and will never forget you. We will need you to help you know, like giving the baby cuddles so mummy's arms can rest, you could change diapers if you want and most importantly you will have to help mummy by giving her loads of cuddles and kisses because she's going to be very tired"
"Why will she be tired?"
"Both Colby and I will be tired because babies cry a lot at night. You did when you were little and it was only me so I used to get up every few hours you feed you and change you. I used to fall asleep at work" Soph starts laughing "but you were the best thing to have happened to me Soph. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have met Colby and we wouldn't be having a baby"
"I love you mummy"
"I love you too"
"Now shall we go back to the house to open presents?"
"Yay" Soph jumps up. We pay and walk out to the car. Colby straps Soph in her seat and we head off home. Once we arrive Kat meets us at the front of the house
"Hi birthday girl are you ready to open your presents?"
"Uh huh" Kat gives her a tiara and holds her hand as Colby and I walk in behind them. We follow them to the living room and sit down with all our friends. Soph is sat on the floor with Kat, Sam, Tara and Brennen while Jake, Kevin and Aryia stand. Cassie, Devyn, Xepher and Griffin are sat on the couch
"Look mummy Kat and Sam got me a princess dress"
"That's lovely"
"And brennen got me some shoes to match. Can you help me put them on?"
"I think mummy's feeling a bit tired so I'll help come here princess" Soph goes up to Colby and he helps her to put on the dress. She does a little spin. She opens the rest of them until there's one left off Colby. Soph takes the paper off and looks confused
"Ok so I know you don't see your real dad..." Soph cuts him off
"He's not my dad. He left me and mummy on our own" I smile at her
"I thought that you might like me to be your dad" Soph smiles and runs over to Colby and cuddles him
"Thank you for looking after me and my mummy"
"Always princess" sophs gives me a cuddle and a kiss
"This is the best birthday ever"
"Ow" I sit up
"Mummy are you ok?" I laugh, she's always been such a caring little girl. She's going to be an amazing big sister
"Yes sweetheart it's just your brother kicked me. Do you want to feel" he nods and sits next to me, I put her hand on my tummy. She gets close to it
"Can you please stop hurting our mummy please" everyone laughs at her response
"I love you Sophia Jane Brock"
"I love you more mummy and daddy" she pulls Colby closer to me and hugs us both
