if he was the king, then you were the queen: simple.
you, (y/n), are the "queen" of the court when playing volleyball. people had described you as flawless and gifted. you were absolutely stunning on the court — always spiking the ball with all your might. you were on sports magazines and interviewed by many volleyball reporters, amazed by your beauteous play.
you were described as alluring and attractive to many, due to your long, h/c hair that was always tied up into one high ponytail. in the shade of e/c, your eyes were hypnotizing and captivating. your long legs were lean and creamy with knobby knees. you had many students come up to you with such fascination and interest, some confessing with pure and unalloyed intentions. people couldn't help but surround you and be enlightened by your presence.
your eyes always trailed the ball up in the air, waiting for the perfect moment to jump up and spike the ball down on the opponent's side. your slim arms trailed behind you as your long legs ran quickly across the court and jumped up to an incredible high height. with one arm forward and the other ready to hit the ball, you slam it down with incredible force as the ball makes contact with the floor.
loud cheering and applaud comes from the audience as you safely make it back onto the ground with your teammates surrounding you with smiles and high-fives.
you enjoy the sensation. the feeling of the ball perfectly aligning with your palm and spiking it down. the feeling of exuberance when the court is dead silent and the only thing being heard is the ball being slammed down by you. the riveting feeling of when you could feel shivers down your spine when competing against one of the strongest team.
volleyball made you feel all sorts of sensations.
contentment.
equanimity.
exhilaration.
galvanization.
despondency.
and most importantly, love.
kageyama tobio, the sullen, passionate, dedicated and undeniably short-tempered volleyball prodigy, was the first person to burst through your closed walls with such ease. you were admired by his commitment and devotion to volleyball, making you fall in love with him.
it was on a frosty, chilly evening when you were walking home from volleyball practice. the sky was starting to be painted in colors of orange, pink and purple when you spotted a teenage boy, the same age as you, setting the ball with elegance. his back was arched as the ball left his fingertips with grace. his skin was covered in sweat as he laid on the grass in exhaustion, tired from setting all the balls.
you were captivated by his setting; you couldn't help but walk up to him with sparkles in your eyes. as you walked closer, you realized who he was: the king of the court, kageyama tobio.
kegayama heard footsteps walking towards him, causing him to slowly flutter open his eyes and see a pair of pale, slender legs. he sat up from the grass and looked up, only to meet your hazel colored orbs.
both of you guys recognized each other.
he too was admired by your exquisiteness. he has seen you in many magazines and he couldn't help but feel his cheeks warming up as you came closer. you crouched down to meet kageyama's eye level, causing him to nervously scoot back.
"i'm in love."
those were the first three words you said. kageyama yelped in surprise as his face had changed into a complete red mess. the smell of sweet vanilla from your hair filled his nostrils as you gazed into his dark blue eyes.
"s-sorry, what?"
kageyama couldn't help but stutter. a really attractive girl was nearly a centimeter away from him and out of the blue, she was saying that she's in love. who wouldn't be surprised?
his voice had a coating of sweet honey with a bit of huskiness in it. she couldn't help but smile wider as his ears were bright pink. you slowly leaned away from him, allowing him to have his personal space, which seemed to calm him down . . . a lot.
"i'm in love with your volleyball playing," you state as you sit down on the grass with him. he turns more flushed as his orbs widen in incredulity.
"i-uh-um. . . thankyouverymuch," he stammers, shocked by your words. a small chuckle leaves your lips as you set down your school bag.
"is it possible if you could. . . teach me how to set?"
. . .
the sun had already settled down as kageyama threw you another ball. he had agreed to teach you how to set and your fast learning pace had flabbergasted him. you had already mastered the technique he had just instructed you fifteen minutes ago.
both of you guys laid on the grass with your backs covering the grass, while admiring the sky filled with sparkling stars. your mane of hair was out of the ponytail and spread out on the viridescent grass. you sat up from the ground, while kageyama did the same.
you grabbed your school bag and brushed your lips across his thin ones, surprising him to his core and making him blush in the shade of vermilion.
"see you tomorrow, kageyama."
you got up from the ground and started walking home under the night sky. you loved his reaction and found it adorable how he kept turning red.
kageyama couldn't help but be astonished by how his first kiss was taken by the queen of the court. he had abruptly stood up as soon as you kissed his lips, startled by your sudden action. he touched the tip of his lip with his fingertips and a smile slowly crept up his face.
"HOLY SHIT!"
