Steve Rogers(Manipulation of Electricity)
It had been at least six months since the kidnapping and you were doing fine, happy to be back and working and not the least bit afraid; it was your job to be strong and ready after all. You weren't currently working, spending the day in the Avenger's Tower for some much needed R&R. You were happily making yourself some toast, something you'd done many time here in the tower so you were paying any attention until the toaster popped and you reached for your toast. You screamed seeing the spark jump from the devise and into your hand, you expected it to hurt so you screamed as a reaction but you never actually felt any pain. Of course your scream drew some attention, namely everybody within earshot but you only laughed it off telling everyone that it wasn't anything major and they could go back to doing whatever they had been. You on the other hand now had this to deal with, every time you touched the light switch a spark, the remote? A spark. Anything that had any amount of electrical energy you sucked that energy right out of it with a touch. You were concerned, confused, and now you had to explain all of this to Steve who would be just as confused as you were. "Princess?" you were home now, hiding away from everything in hopes that, that would help the problem and make it go away. "In here" you called out to him and after a moment the door to your room opened and in walked the man that you were now terrified to talk to. What if he thought you were a freak? What if he didn't love you anymore because of this. . .this power?! You apparently had the look of utter terror and sadness on your face because he was now holding you close into his chest. "Sweetie, what's the matter?" his kind blue eyes met yours and you cried out softly reaching for the phone that rested in his shirt pocket and as soon as you were about an inch from touching it with your fingers a spark shot from it and into your hand. You watched his face unable to tell what he was thinking you scooted away from him and over to the other side of the bed. "I, they, I. . .Steve, I'm scared" you whispered, your voice echoing in the room. "No matter what happens or happened, I'm right here for you" he reached out for you but you were too afraid to touch him thinking you'd hurt him if you did so he grabbed your hand and squeezed it gently. "We'll figure this out, together, alright? I'm not going to make you do this alone, we can talk to Tony and Bruce" he smiled gently before moving his hand to your face and stroking your cheek "don't worry, I still love you." You smiled, happy to know that at least he'd still stand by you and eventually you did get the powers under control with some help from a Professor.
Tony Stark(Telekinesis)
You were shaken up and still sore from the last months release from the hospital. You were afraid to be alone and so Tony let you stay with him most of the time, he was weary of you being in his workshop but you managed to sweet talk him into letting you. You were sitting and quietly observing your boyfriend as he worked, something he was still getting used to and something you actually really enjoyed doing. You hummed and fiddled with a pen on a nearby table when you looked over and noticed that the object he was working on was dangerously close to the edge but you thought he knew so you left it be. Not five minutes later you glance over again to notice it had inched its way a little further than it was before and then it happened. Life had become the cliche notion of slow-mo as you watched the object slide off of the desk but not hit the ground. "NO!" you had reached for it like you would have been able to catch it had you even been remotely close to it. You went to lower you hand and the object sank more towards the ground, you lifted your hand and it raised with it. You weren't even sure how to react, were you suppose to be mad? Scared? Confused? You were mostly shocked and to be quite honest pretty impressed despite this problem coming from a bad situation. Tony was in a state of panic as he paced and paced but still had yet to actually say anything. You were starting to feel like maybe this was something he couldn't handle and you'd be alone to deal with it but when he pulled you into a hug after securing what he had been working on your doubts had vanished. You listened to him ramble on and on about how it was really pretty cool and that he still loves you to the point where you had to shut him up with a short kiss. "Tony, thank you but you don't have to talk my ears off" he gave you a goofy grin which made your heart melt and you grinned with him before laughing softly. The whole situation was ridiculous but it gave you something new to think about at least. Eventually you two did manage to rectify the situation with a lot of training and a lot more time together.
Bruce Banner(Teleportation)
You were happy now that you were back working with Bruce and even Tony, you were just happy to be back where you felt safe. You had new scars now more emotional than physical but you were working on those with Bruce every night, it was kind of like your own therapy sessions. You were humming while you wrote down some notes from your previous experiment with Tony and Bruce thinking more about being home and in bed than here because it was rather late and you were pretty tired but you had things to finish first. Your hum soon turned to a scream when you closed your eyes for a moment to relax and realized you were now home. You were now afraid to move, afraid to think about moving, and even more afraid of what Bruce was going to think. You knew him well enough to know he'd help you, that he wasn't going to leave you to deal with this alone because that'd make him a hypocrite and rather mean. You slowly pulled your phone from your lab coat pocket and dialed his number. You waited through three rings before whispering into the receiver, "I, um Bruce I really need you to stay calm and come home. . .now" the panic and fear in your voice was clear to him so he wasted absolutely no time in getting back to you. He didn't stop to talk to Tony, didn't stop to tell anyone he just ran as fast as he could back home. You had yet to move, still afraid that something was going to happen if you did but when you heard the door open and saw Bruce you threw yourself into his arms and started babbling on about what happened. "Sweetie, calm down I can't understand anything you're talking about while you mumble it into my shirt" he gave you a soft crooked smile. "I, okay" you took a deep breath "I was writing down notes from the experiment like I said I was going to while you were away and I was pretty tired so I was thinking about being home and then suddenly I'm. . .home" you whispered the word home while you stepped away from him. You were confused and so afraid that you'd just randomly disappear that you began to shake, body being racked with sobs that softly escaped your lips. Bruce held you like his life depended on it before smiling and whispering, "well if you're worried we can always call the Professor and whenever you get really stressed or worried just think of me, think about being with me" you nodded still holding him but no longer crying. You did eventually get the teleporting under control and now Tony asks you to do everything for him because, as he put it, 'You can get it so much faster than it'd take me to even get there! All you have to do is think about being there!' It kinda makes you feel special.
Thor Odinson(Enhanced Regenerative Power)
You had been spending most of the last few months recovering and just now began to work with Frigga again. You love working with her, she is smart and so very understand and kind that working with her is both interesting and fun. You promised Thor that if you needed anything, anything at all, that you would send someone to fetch him and even though you did not think you would need him today because of any mishaps you kept your promises. You were full blooded Asgardian, you heal exceptionally quickly anyways but a scratch that was deeper than an inch would need at least a day or two so you didn't heal immediately. You were always careful when working with the patients that were brought in and even as you trained in the art of healing magic with Lady Frigga, but today you had been careless. You were working with an exceptionally angry man, he was irrationally angry and kept scratching at you and even though you were doing rather well at keeping him at bay slip ups happen. You leaned in thinking he had been knocked out from the previously given medication he scared you and grabbed a hold of your arm harshly before biting down hard on your bicep making you tap him on the head to actually knock him out this time. You winced when you looked at the bite mark watching it heal and disappear within seconds. You weren't sure what to think, sure you had maybe just been too tired to be seeing things correctly you shook it off. Working through the rest of the day without mentioning it to Frigga to keep her from worrying too much you finally were done. You took a long deep breath before you asked on of the servant boys to fetch the prince for you, you had to tell him, tell someone anyways and he was the one you trusted. You had instructed the boy to tell him to meet you in the gardens, he'd know which one and so you waited there. Hearing his booming voice call out to you made you smile but them frown remembering why you had called him to you in the first place. He pulled you up and looked you over, "you are not hurt, are you? I can always beat the man that lay his finger on you, love!" you laughed and shook your head before placing your hand on his cheek, an action you did that usually relaxed him. "Be calm Thor, I called you because I wish to speak with you" you motioned for him to sit with you once you moved away from him and he followed your action. Sitting next to him you were silent for a little while before you could find your voice again. "Thor, I, um, Asgardians heal rather quickly correct?" he nodded "how quickly?" he answered despite the feeling of confusion wash over him "a few days at the least, why? Has someone hurt you?" You sighed "I think I recover much more quickly now, see here?" you pointed to a slightly flush part of your bicep "I was bitten here earlier, rather hard, and I expected it to still be there but as I watched it. It heal before my very eyes!" you avoided his eyes, afraid that he would deem you insane but he grasped your hand before giving you a big smile. "So?" you looked up at him, his blue eyes never once falling from your face "this only means that you will heal much faster than anyone could be able to inflict pain upon your flesh, this means that you will never have to worry about that kind of pain anymore." You weren't sure whether to be happy or concerned, "do not worry!" He seemed to notice the look of confusion on your face "I will be here no matter what if that is what has you concerned, I will not leave you simply because you heal faster now" the way he worded it made you feel a little bit better and so you leaned against him. His arm snaked around your waist pulling you close to him and before long you were asleep and no longer worried about the events of the day.
Loki Laufeyson(Phasing)
It had been at least a year since the unfortunate events that lead to your kidnapping and near death experience but you were a tough girl and you weren't about to let that get you down. You were still one of the toughest warriors that the Asgardian people had the pleasure of fighting for them. You weren't doing anything particularly interesting today, Loki sitting in the window reading while you resting on the bed quietly studying the ceiling's pattern. It was rather peaceful but also pretty boring, it wasn't that you didn't enjoy these moments because you did, you just like to keep your mind busy. You decided that maybe bothering Loki was a good idea so you sauntered over to the busy God before sitting next to him in the window. You leaned on his shoulder and began reading, enjoying the fantasy tale from where you had started reading from. "You will never understand it if you do not read it from the beginning" he said eyes steadily scanning the words "and neither will you if you intend to scold me while you try to read" you laughed when his nose scrunched up ever so slightly. You two exchanged a few more teasing words before he went to grab you up playfully, ready to tease you about being so snarky but instead of grabbing you he went right on through. It took no time for him to figure out what was going on but for you, you didn't even notice a thing had changed. You laughed but he was not, he was concerned "what did that imbecile do to you?!" he growled reaching for you and finally being able to grab your arm softly. "What is the matter, Loki?" you had stopped laughed after his outburst and now looked rather confused "Loki?" you reached up and touched his cheek. To test his theory, which he assumed to be one hundred percent accurate he turned away from you and grabbed the book from the window's ledge. "Love?" you called out to him once more but no response, you were really worried now that something had happened to him and not to you as he proclaimed but you had little time to think about that because within the moment a book was hurling through the air at you. You squeezed your eyes shut and covered your face with your arms waiting for it to hit you but no impact came. When you opened your eyes and looked for the book that he had so rudely thrown at you, you found it to be on the other side of the room behind you. "Why in Odin's holy name did you throw a book at me?!" you snarled but he looked concerned "do you not understand what is going on?" "I know it went through me but that doesn't make me less angry with you, you careless man! What if it had hit me?" he placed his hands on both of your arms firmly making you look at him. "It wasn't going to, you let it phase through you because you thought it was going to hurt you. Do you remember anything he did to you? Anything he injected into you or maybe exposed you to?" Slowly realization hit you and you slowly shook your head, your eyes cloudy with obvious fear and worry but with the way he was reacting he wasn't going anywhere. He was in this for the long run and despite not remembering anything that happened to you, you did eventually get the power under control and now proceed to use it to tease Loki at ever chance you get.
Clint Barton(Control/Manipulate Liquids)
Clint really didn't like knowing you had to be away from him, he wanted to be with you, be there to protect you and make sure nothing happened. He wanted you safe but you had come to the conclusion that as long as you work for Shield that you were not always going to be safe. That you were going to face death on more than one occasion and you were going to either have to quit and hide away for the rest of your life or face it. You were coming home from a mission with Steve, one that Clint really wished you had not taken. It had only been three months since you were released from the hospital, that was too soon for him and to be honest you had hoped for more time with him before getting back to work. You had promised Steve that you would help him with this one though, you weren't going to make him do this alone and despite being exhausted you were both in one piece. You rested against the seat until you were told you could leave and once the two of you did you parted ways. You were looking around for Clint and noticed him and Tony arguing about something, you watched from a distance for a few moments when you noticed a drink in Tony's hands and thought about how funny it would be if that were to get all over his face. You weren't even interested in what they were talking about after the drink exploded in his hand, sending glass and scotch everywhere. You rushed in, feeling the need to apologize but you couldn't manage between the breaths and the laughing. You helped clean up the mess you didn't realize you made before Tony grumbled heading off in the other direction. You threw away the last of the glass shards before hugging Clint tight, "I missed you!" you kissed him softly and he grinned "Missed you too, did you see his face!" you both laughed when he tried to recreate the face that Tony had made. "Yeah, I was hoping it would happen but I didn't expect it too" you snickered and for a little while you two ended up just talking not yet realizing that it was actually you who made the drink explode. You watched the water pour out of the sink intently, something about it mesmerized you and before long it began to slowly pull towards you. This not only shocked you but Clint nearly jumped up and down, clearly excited like he realized something "It was you that made Tony's drink spill on him!" you both ended up laughing about it but you were rather worried. "How do I control it?. . ." you really weren't asking him but you just speaking what you were thinking, really letting things sink in. "Don't worry I'm sure we could talk to Bruce and Tony, they should be able to help create a place where you can practice this easily" he smiled pulling you into a hug. You spent many long hours training, some with them and some with the professor but you did get them under control and now you enjoy tormenting Tony.
James "Bucky" Barnes(Telepathy)
You had made damn sure that the place that had kidnapped you was long gone and burnt to ashes before you were able to sleep properly at night. You were now finally fully recovered and ready to get back to work even though Bucky insisted that you stay at home and away from the dangers of working for Shield. You reminded him about the fact you were already being hunted because of what you were and that staying away from everyone only made it easier for said people to find you and then you'd have repeat of last time. You were currently sitting on the roof of the Avenger's Tower with a splitting migraine and voices in your head, other people's voices and not just your own yelling at you about being dumb or doing something dumb again. You remembered meeting the Professor, remembered how hard it was for him to deal with all of the voices and you readied yourself for a long few years of intensive training and focusing. This is the very last thing you needed, not only had you gained another mutation but now you had to hear voices and then there was the headache. You sat with your legs crossed and your head in your hands, you remembered that when he had headaches like this he would always stay as high up and away from people as possible. He said it kept them safe from the pulses of energy, kept them from being knocked out and put in a coma. You wanted to stab yourself in the temple the pain was so bad, it hurt so much and there was nothing you could do about it because as far as you knew this symptom had to pass on it's own and no amount of normal medication worked to ease this pain. You had left a note for Bucky to find, hoping that he wouldn't try to find you and even though most of you knew that was an empty hope some of you still held onto it. The pain was becoming far too much and you curled up on the roof and before too long you fell asleep. Bucky had been searching everywhere for you and had yet to find any signs, "Mister Barnes this is for you" Jarvis handed Bucky the note that you left as soon as he came to the top floor of the Tower. Bucky recognized the handwriting immediately as being yours and began to read the note; "Bucks, Don't worry about where I am because I am safe I just needed to be away from everyone for a little while. Please, do not come to the roof, do not come, I need you to trust me when I say that because I know you're wanting to come up already. Please, I need some time alone and I don't want to hurt you. I love you and I will see you as soon as this migraine goes away!" He could picture your smiling face when you said I love you and the grumpy face you make when you scold him for not listening. He was torn between checking up on you and actually listening to your note, it was eating away at him "is she still up there?" He asked the AI who was still standing next to him "yes and she appears to be asleep so I think it should be safe to see her." Bucky didn't waste any time in getting to the roof, he tapped his foot impatiently as the final ding to the elevator allowed it to open. He stepped out and noticed your sleeping form, well you looked as though you were sleeping but you woke up as soon as the doors to the elevator opened. "Didn't I tell you not to come up here" you had assumed you said that out loud but you did not "wh-what?" he stammered and looked around "I'm so sorry Bucks, I didn't mean to scare you" you sat up and he rushed to your side. You held onto him and whispered a thousand 'I'm sorry's' before he finally hushed you with a kiss, "please, stop apologizing for what wasn't your fault!" he sounded desperate and you nodded "I-I'm a telepath. . .I came up here to keep you lot safe, I'd have put you all in a coma had I stayed down there. I'm already a freak. . .why this?" you cried softly as Bucky watched you in silence waiting for you to become quiet again. You rubbed your face "there are so many damn voices!" you grumbled harshly hitting the cement next to you, Bucky grabbed your hand and kissed away the pain "you shouldn't be so hard on yourself you know, I love you even knowing you were a mutant before so this won't change anything for me. I will be right here no matter what and you know that, I love you so much." you couldn't manage a smile but you did burrow your face into the crook of his neck and stay like that for a long while. You did get it all under control, though it took a long time and many migraines were dealt with through this process you now have full control of it. You do enjoy teasing the group with it though!
