you're on the phone with your girlfriend, she's upset
she's going off about something that you said
'cause she doesn't get your humor like i do
living next to your crush, iwaizumi hajime, was probably the luckiest thing that had ever happened to your life. today was like any other day. he was having an argument with his girlfriend on the phone. it's been happening for a while, and you didn't know how to comfort him. he sighed and threw his phone onto his bed. he took a seat on a chair and faced you. you scribbled some words on a piece of paper and showed it to him.

a sullen smile curved up his lips as he shrugged his shoulders. you scribbled the words "i love you" on paper, but when you saw him closing his curtains, you quickly crumbled it up.

after spending hours studying for an upcoming exam, you stood up from your chair and stretched. you turned on your favorite song and started singing your heart out. you were dancing on your bed with a hairbrush in your hand, as you sang the chorus. iwaizumi took a peek at you through his curtains and softly laughed. you didn't know it, but he knew you always sang your heart out every night. he enjoyed seeing you having a blast and sometimes, he wanted to join in with the fun.

you had just finished your classes and was on your way home. you hugged your books close to your chest as you walked down the hallway.

you turned around to see iwaizumi walking up to you. you felt your heart flutter as you waved at him. he had a smile curved up on his face and you found yourself falling deeper in love with him. he hadn't been smiling as much after getting a girlfriend, and it made you worry about him.
"are you going home now?" he asked, catching up to you. hearing his voice made you smile even wider.
"yeah, are you going to practice?"
"yeah," he replied, softly brushing a piece of your strand behind your ear. you blushed as he gently smiled. your smile quickly fell when you saw his girlfriend walking over to him.
"hajime!!" she yelled through the halls. she wrapped her arms around his shoulder and tenderly kissed his lips. he was taken back but returned her kiss, wrapping his arms around her waist.
you took a step back when his girlfriend glared harshly at you. you lowered your gaze and stared at the ground as she pulled away and dragged iwaizumi away from you. you softly exhaled as you trudged home alone.

you went to his volleyball game with your friends. you sat down on the bleachers and watched him warm up with his volleyball members. a smile curved up your lips when you saw him smiling widely with his childhood friend. you've always seen him practice volleyball in his yard, and it made you happy watching him play it with such enjoyment.
you looked over to the side and saw iwaizumi's girlfriend in a cheer uniform. she wore a short skirt and a crop top as she cheered loudly for the volleyball team. you felt a wider gap between her and you. you wondered if iwaizumi liked girls like her. did you have to wear short skirts and crop tops so that he would notice you?

you were about to call his name but stopped when he and his girlfriend started yelling at each other. he stormed away with an irritated expression. you were going to talk to him, but your friends dragged you away.

there was a huge party going on where lots of students from aoba johsai were attending. you looked outside of your window to see iwaizumi all dressed up in a suit. he scribbled something down on a piece of paper and showed it to you.

you entered the room in a white dress. you had styled your hair and worn makeup. people slowly made room for you, some of them not taking their eyes off you. you made eye contact with iwaizumi, who was talking to his childhood friend.
he couldn't take his eyes off you as he slowly made his way towards you. your smile weakened when you saw his ex girlfriend grab his hand. but to your surprise, he pushed her off his chest, and continued making his way to you.
it felt like it was only you and him in the world. time seemed to stop as you slowly got out the crumpled piece of paper with the words "i love you" written on it. you showed it to him with a small smile. he softly grinned as he got out a paper with the same words written on it. his cheeks were a bit tinted as he stood in front of you.
he softly brushed your hair and cupped your cheek with his hand. you stared into his eyes as his lips got closer to yours. you brought your hands to his chest as you closed your eyes. you smiled when you felt a pair of soft lips softly press against yours. a small giggle left your lips when he pulled away from you, only to tenderly kiss you one more time.
