ch 16: Won't last long

After hanging up with our aunt there was a moment of silence.

Looking around everyone had a confused face.

We decided that who wanted to go to bed, goes. Rest of us will try to figure out what's next.

Mason, Alex, Diego and Elena went upstairs to bed.

After almost an hour of talking about where our uncle could be we decided to give up and just join the others upstairs.

Once we were done all the lights were off and doors locked we walked upstairs.

I, however, went to Elena's room instead of my own.

"Are you sleeping sweetheart?"I quietly asked, in case she was.

"No, I'm awake."She said in the same low tone.

I walked over and sat on her bed by her legs.

"Whats wrong?"I asked.

"It's been a rough week." She sighed. "Nick?"

"Yes?"

"Why am I not werewolf?" She asked.

That question took me by surprise.

"I dont know, baby, maybe you are. Everyone's first shift is on different time." I said thinking. What if she is werewolf, I bet she would look adorable.

"I wana be one. It would be fun." She said.

"How about you go to bed? You need to sleep."

"I'm not tired tho."

"That sounds like a you problem, doesn't it little sister?"

" It's yours as well if I decide to annoy you."

"Touche"

At that, she smiled.

"Ok, for real now. Go to bed, kiddo."

"I already told you I'm not tired, Nick."

"You will be tommorow, if you don't go to sleep now."

"Fine. Goodnight." I got a quick hug from her before she turned to her side.

"Goodnight, kiddo."

I have a gut feeling these easy and peaceful bed times won't last long.
