"Here." Jane slows the car until it stops. "This is the perfect place for stargazing."

You look up at the sky. "Wow. You weren't kidding. The sky is so bright out here."

"That's because there's no one around, just nature. There's so many stars out here it would probably be impossible to count them all."

"Have you ever tried?" you asked.

"Of course I have. It didn't work out as well as I hoped it would."

"But I knew you would have been one to try," you say. "Do I know you or what?"

She smiles. "You know that's exactly the kind of thing I'd try to do."

Jane gets out of the car and opens the truck, pulling out a blanket.

"Come on," she says to you. "Let's stretch out and enjoy nature."

You follow her, and lie down on the blanket next to her. It's nice, you think, to be out here in the quiet, just the two of you.

"You know," Jane says, "Somewhere up that way is Asgard. It's a completely different world form ours, but it's out there somewhere, you know?"

You nod. "Yeah, you talked about it. You were there once, weren't you?"

"I was. I wish it could have been under better circumstances, though."

"Oh. Well, do you think you'll get another chance to go back?"

She doesn't answer right away, and when she does, she says, "I don't think I'll be going back."

Something about the way she says it makes you turn away from the stars and look at her. "Are you okay, Jane?"

Again, she doesn't answer right away. It's dark, so you can't really see her face, and you don't know what she's thinking.

"I broke up with Thor a few months ago," she finally says. "He's been away so much, and for so long. He's been looking for these stones. It's something important, and it probably has to do with him saving the world. But...I don't think he and I were meant to be. We grew apart after a while. Ending things just felt like the right thing to do, you know?"

"Oh, Jane." You search around in the darkness until you find her hand, and you take it in your own. "I'm sorry. No wonder you haven't seemed much like yourself lately. Believe me, I know breakups suck."

Jane turns her head so that you're eye-to-eye, and then she moves closer and kisses you.

Despite the fact that you've had a crush on Jane for a while, you're still surprised when she kisses you.

"Wh-can I ask what was that for?" you ask. "Not that there was anything wrong with it, just..." You really don't know what else to say, so you leave it there.

"I don't know." She moves even closer and wraps her arm around you. "I just like you, I guess."

Things get quiet after that. Deciding not to ruin this moment, you stay quiet and enjoy it.
