My alarm woke me at approximately seven, beeping loudly. I sprung out of bed, terribly eager for the day's activities. Keeping what Kevin told me, to wear something nice, in mind as I got dressed. I put on a tweed jacket, given to me by my grandfather, over my normal shirt and tie, the only thing irregular, aside from the jacket, being a sweater-vest.

I got ready as quickly as I felt possible, bringing with me, only my phone and some batteries. I'm not sure why I brought batteries with me, but you always need them at the least expected or convenient, so at this point, I've just begun carrying them with me. You never know when you're going to need batteries.

I rushed out of the house, walking to Kevin's, the time now eight.

Being summer, the sun was blindingly bright, feeling as if it were shining directly into my eyes, no matter which way I looked. That, alone, made the walk feel agonizingly long, despite the fact that it is only minutes away. It already felt long enough as it was. But, only when I'm on my way to see him. When I'm going to walk him back to his house, it felt like it could've passed in a matter of seconds. I hate that. That's one of the countless things I hate about time, or at least the concept of time. They tell you that time flies when you're having fun, but they fail to mention that time drags when you're looking forward to anything. Realistically, it's the same amount of time, but it feels a tiring amount longer.

Alas, I arrived at his house, knocking lightly on the door. He opened, greeting me with a large smile, looking sharper than ever before.

"Oh fuck me.." I gasped, looking him up and down. I didn't even intend to say that, it just happened.

Kevin cracked up, stumbling over a bit from laughing so hard.

"Ohhh, Jesus." He giggled

"I'm sorry, you caught me off guard, you look.. so good! Holy moly, you look good."

"Well, thank you. Though, I think 'good morning' or 'hello' would be a more civilized option for a greeting, i agree, I do look good."

"Yes, You really do! I'm sorry, good morning, I didn't mean to open with that, but... wow."

"Sunshine, you've seen me wear this before"

"But the gray looks even better on you, and I wasn't expecting you to look so damn hot"

He giggled, shaking his head.

"Are you ready to go?" He asked, shutting the door behind him.

"Yes, I am! I'm very ready. Where are we going?"

"If I told you that, then it wouldn't be a surprise, now would it, Cutie?"

"Fair enough."

He walked me to the car, even opening my door for me.

"Oooh, what a gentleman" i joked, smirking as I got into the car.

"When do you think you're going to get your license?" He asked, starting the car.

"I don't really know. Cars are great, but they intimidate me a little. I think I'm just going to put it off until it's absolutely dire. Until then, I'll just walk everywhere. It's less dangerous, and it's some good exercise."

"Well, shouldn't you get your license before it's dire, so you have it? Then you won't have to wait when the time comes that you actually need it."

"Maybe.. I dunno, it's not really a concern for me at the time."

"Well, what about in the winter?"

"Even better exercise. Your body has to work harder to stay warm, and you burn a few more calories."
