I woke up to more texts from Kevin, sent to me at various points throughout the night. We hadn't seen each other all weekend, and I'm guessing that he decided to text me every little thought he had

'I miss you :(' the first one read

'I really want to make soup. Is one a.m. too late for soup? Or too early?'

The next one was sent at one-forty-five

'I made a bagel but it's not the same. I would do anything for soup. I'm taking you out for soup next weekend.'

'I finished my bagel but i got a bunch of crumbs in my bed and had to vacuum them out. No more bagels in bed.'

I chuckled a little as I read them and simply typed back 'that was thrilling'

I hit send and I set my phone on the bed, getting up for school. I got dressed and put on the jacket he gave me. The jacket had almost become a security blanket to me. Having it made me feel safe. I ended up wearing it nearly every day. I brushed my teeth and fixed my hair, picking up my backpack and phone before rushing outside to see him.

"Hello, hotshot" he greeted, smiling as always. He had such a beautiful smile.

"Hey, handsome" I grinned, quickly walking away from the house before my dad could see us together

Once we were out of sight he put his arm around my shoulders, popping a quick kiss 'good morning' on my temple. I looked up at him, the cool breeze flowing through his hair.

"...Hey, uh, Kev?"

"Hm?"

"Both my parents are going out of town for the weekend, do you maybe wanna... come over.. or something?" I asked, slightly embarrassed.

"Yeah, totally"

"Really..?"

"Of course. Why wouldn't I?"

"I dunno... I didn't want to be... presumptuous or anything, assuming you'd want to... spend that time with me.. I-I didn't want to crowd you and be all annoying."

"Connor, you're my boyfriend, why wouldn't I want to be with you?"

My cheeks turned red when I heard those words. We'd been seeing each other for a while now, sneaking out at nights and whispering to each other in the halls, sneaking kisses behind the gym, but I've never heard him refer to me as his boyfriend before. I like it.

"...So I'm your boyfriend, huh?"

"Well, we've been seeing each other like this for a few months now, I definitely consider you to be... are you.. okay with that?"

I nodded quickly

"..yes, I'm very okay with that"

He smiled that beautiful smile again

"Good. And for your information, you're not annoying. I don't know where you got that idea from, but you're not."

"It's just.. my parents always said I- ...you're just really out of my league, is all. And I'm.. me. I didn't want to be.. too much, I- I have a tendency to be too much"

"Out of your league? Why the hell would you think that?"

"Seriously? Kev, have you seen yourself? you're pretty damn incredible"

"What, and you're not?" He retorted, almost offended on my behalf "You're the strongest person I've ever met. nobody can break your spirit. It's remarkable.. and you're bright. And sweet.. and cute, God, so fucking cute."
