16. Original Song

The Truth is Out

Santana ended up spending the rest of the weekend hanging out with Becca. Even when Sam came over, she was willing to 'third wheel the oblivious idiots." But Becca noticed something was off with Sam. He's become more tired, always rushing to go places. It was always he insisted on if they hung out, it had to be at her house or the library or just anywhere but his place. As much as Becca wanted to talk to him about the kiss, she was now more worried about what was upsetting him so much.

Mr. Schue had even more disappointing news to share, "You know how we decided on Sing by My Chemical Romance for Regionals. Well, I hold a cease and desist letter from the band. We can't sing it."

"Wow, we must have been really bad for them to send a cease and desist post breakup." Becca remarks as the rest of the room believes that Sue had something to do with this. She agrees 100%, but still. She knows they didn't reach My Chemical Romance levels of amazing but it wasn't bad. The costume choice was a completely different story. 

Rachel, finding this a great thing for the club, brings back up her original song idea. Glancing over, Santana rolls her eyes, "All those in favor of voting Rachel down a second time."

Quinn stopped anyone from voting, "No I think she's right. Why don't we push ourselves to do something different.

Not wanting to lose again, Mercedes voices her opinion. "If all the other teams are doing original songs then we won't be so good."

"You're right we won't be good." Quinn looks at her, glancing around the room. "We'll be better. We won't be using other people's words or music, it'll be our own Our hear, soul, not just our voices. We have a really talented songwriter in our midst." Looking over at Rachel, Quinn tried her best to hide her true intentions, "Rachel, I was thinking maybe you and I could write a song together.

Santana couldn't help but look at Becca, "She's up to something."

"Definitely," Becca whispers.

Oblivious to whatever's going on, Finn couldn't help but promote the idea. "I'm with Quinn and Rachel. I mean, if these two can agree on something, it's probably an idea worth considering."

"Wait, wait," Santana starts, "So suddenly you two are writing the music for Regionals? No way. I think that everyone should get a chance to write a song." The rest of the group agreed, beginning to run through ideas for the songs.
