Imagine; you're in a mission meaning that Bucky has to take care of your 7 year old daughter, one night she is troubled by nightmares so he comforts her.

'Are you sure you're okay with this?'
'Y/n I know how to take care of my own daughter...' Bucky sighs.
'I know that but-'
'We will be fine...and you will be late...' he comments as he lets go off you.
'Natalie...I'll be back soon okay?' You crouch down and she wraps her arms around you.
'Okay...' she simply replies as you kiss her head.
'You listen to daddy okay?, behave...'
'She will behave..' Bucky smiles.
'I was talking to you...' you chuckle and his smile drops for a moment and turns into a pout while Natalie giggles.
'When am I ever known for not behaving...' he huffs as he crosses his arms.
You glance at your nine year old daughter and raise your eyes brows.
'Okay point made, have fun mommy bye!' He picks Natalie up as he waves you goodbye.
You shake your head with a smile as you peck his lips before walking to the jet. You sit down next to Nat, the person your daughter is named after.
'It's hard...isn't it?'
'Yeah she's never taken it so hard...she bawled her eyes out last night, I just hope she'll forget me a minute and have fun with her dad...'
'Wasn't talking about your daughter y/n...I know leaving her for the first mission in years is hard for you..' she lays a hand on your shoulder.
'I just hope she will be alright..'
'She will, Buck is an amazing father, he's like a terminator when it comes to her...she will be okay...and so will he...they will be here when you get back...'
'Yeah...' you smile as you let out a soft sigh.
They will be okay.

(Four days later)
Bucky just got of the phone with you when he heard this agonising scream coming from his daughters room. He at first thinks she's getting attacked by an intruder, but when he opens the door, he finds her squirming and thrashing in her bed.
Her eyes are still closed but her face is scrunched up, she's having a really bad dream.
'Mommy no!' She rasps out.
Bucky freezes, in all the time he was training, he was never prepared to se who's little girl so terrified and so...like him...
'Please mommy!, don't go!' She yells before her eyes force themselves open.
They dart around the room before landing on Bucky. He immediately goes over to the bed while tears stream down her small face.
She sobs loudly as Bucky wraps his arms around his shaking daughter. She wraps her small arms around his neck as she lays her head in the crook of his neck.
'It's okay babydoll...it's okay...it was just a nightmare...'
'Mommy...is mommy okay?' She sniffs.
'I just got off of the phone with her babydoll, she's doing great...she's okay, she's safe...' he replies to her and he feels her body relaxing. His hand rubbing over her back, soothing her.
She sits down on his lap, her head laying against his chest. She stopped crying, but the shaking still hasn't stopped, neither has the shaky breaths every now and then.
'You wanna tell me what happened?, talking helps...'
'Mommy left me, and then she got hurt, really bad...' he can see the tears forming again so he tightens his arms around her.
'Shhh, hey...listen to me...your mom is one of the strongest women I know, if not the strongest...they will never be able to hurt her...they won't even get the chance...'
'How are you so sure?' She asks, her fragile voice breaking her old mans heart.
'Did I ever tell you how she saved my life?'
'No...'
'Well... daddy was very hurt by some bad guys... and then when mommy heard about it she got really mad, at daddy but even more mad at the bad guys...so she came to me, and she defeated around 14 thugs on her own without getting a scratch, she dragged me out, on her own...'
'But you're so heavy...' she comments.
'Ouch..' he mutters under his breath but given that Natalie is smiling again makes up for it.
'Yes... and then she made all the pain go away...so what I'm trying to say is that you don't have to worry about mommy okay?, she will be okay...she will come home tomorrow...and we're going to wait for her on the deck..'
'Daddy?'
'Yeah?' He asks looking down into her beautiful eyes.
'Can I sleep in your bed tonight?'
'Only if you don't tell mommy because you know how she feels about you sleeping in her spot..' he jokes.
'She gets all cranky...It will be a secret...right?'
'Right.' He chuckles as he slides off of the bed and pulls her into his arms.
He puts her over his shoulder while she giggles uncontrollably. He moves to your shared bedroom and softly lays her down on your side of the bed.
She crawls under the thick covers while Bucky gets in on the other side. Once he is settled, Natalie crawls against him. Using him as a human pillow just like you always do, and of course he doesn't mind, quite the opposite really. He loves it.
'Night daddy...'
'Night babydoll...' he smiles when he hears her snore softly after a couple of minutes.
'Just like her mom...' he whispers.
Bonus time!
You frown as you see an empty loading deck. Bucky specifically said that he would be there with Natalie because she really missed you, but now there's nobody.
You walk through the compound, right to your and Bucky's part of it. You open the door and walk in to find it completely dark.
And then you hear Bucky's most annoying habit, snoring, and it's loud.
You put down your bag and you make your way over to your bedroom to find him and Natalie still sound asleep in the large bed.
A small smile makes its way to your lips as you watch the scene in front of you, your daughter all curled up against Bucky.
You quickly take out your phone and snap a picture, that's gonna be your new background because it's too cute.
Bucky's snoring suddenly stops, it's clear he woke up from the tiny noises you made, he may sound like a heavy sleeper, but he's the exact opposite.
'Hey...you're back...' he groggily says and you chuckle as you put on the light, dimming it a bit to protect his eyes.
'I thought you were going to pick me up...' you move over to his side of the bed and place a soft kiss against his lips.
'Yeah sorry...I Uh...I had something to take care of with Natalie last night and it got really late...must've slept through the alarm...'
'It's okay...I'm glad you're both still alive...'
Natalie stirs and opens her eyes, they grow big when she sees you.
'Mommy!' She cheers.
You quickly get up and move to your side of the bed, well currently Natalies side.
'I thought we agreed that you wouldn't take my spot you little minx...' you joke as you start tickling her.
'I'm sorry mommy!' She laughs. 'I surrender!' She squeals and you give her some room to breathe.
'I missed you mommy...' she pants as she wraps her arms around you.
'I missed you too sweetie...' you kiss her head.
'So did you fight off the bad guys?' She asks.
'Yes, and mommy will tell you all about it... after she gets cleaned up okay?, why don't you ask daddy to help him take care of breakfast?'
Bucky shouts you a glare but the one you return has him shaking, 'let's go make some breakfast...else your mom will get cranky..' the last part is for his daughters ears only.
'What was that?'
'Uh Nothing...' they both reply holding in their laughter.
