Imagine: you get kicked out of your house and Bucky and Steve find you hurled up in an alley, you're 4 years old in this.

'You're a disgrace to this family y/n!, you little brat!, I'm sick and tired of you disobeying and now I found out you're one of those filthy mutants?!' Your mother drags you out to the street and into an alley.
'Mommy no!, I'm sorry!' You sob when she basically squeezes you.
She roughly pushes you to the ground, right into the cold, wet and muddy ground.
'From now on you're not welcome anymore...I don't want to see you ever again!' She walks away and a couple seconds later you hear a door slam.
You start to shiver, the rain is making your clothes stick to your small frame. It's not even that warm out, it's in the middle of autumn, which means cold and wet weather.
You scoot over to the wall and you bring your knees up to your chest, you didn't mean to make her upset, you didn't mean to make her angry it just happened. You don't even know what you're capable of.
You start to softly sob, trying to keep yourself warm but failing miserably when the nightfall starts. The grown ups go outside to get a drink, something your mother told you when she would go out.
'Buck do you hear that?'
'Yeah I do, where do you think it's coming from?'
'I think the alley, we should go check, maybe someone is hurt...' the voices and footsteps come closer making you trying to hide behind one of the large dumpsters.
A large figure appears in front of you and you close your eyes and try to make yourself as small as possible.
'I think I found where the sound was coming from...hey there little girl...don't be scared...I'm not going to hurt you...' his tone is sweet and kind, something you're not used to.
You stay put, but you try to see what the man looks like. He has dark hair, he has blue eyes and he doesn't look that scary.
Then the other man squads down next to the dark haired man and he looks even more kind. Short Blonde hair and blue eyes.
'It's okay sweetheart...like he said, we won't hurt you...' he speaks up and you slowly open the other eye and you sit up against the wall again.
Your knees are still up to your chest given that you're still freezing. 'Are you cold?' The dark haired man asks and you nod.
'Here..' he takes off his thick jacket and wraps it around you while he smiles. 'I'm Bucky... this is Steve...what's your name?'
'Y-y/n...' you stutter.
'How did you end up here doll?' Steve asks.
'My mommy doesn't want me anymore...' you answer while a tear slips down your cheek.
Steve and Bucky glance at each other as they get up.
'We need to take her with us she can't stay out here...' Bucky speaks up. 'What if someone takes advantage of her?'
'Agreed, I mean, we can take her with us and then we will just take care of her, remember that we asked god for a sign...I think she is the sign..' Steve replies and while they talk, you stand up and move around the dumpster to look at them.
Then they both turn to you, they crouch down again and they offer to take you home with them, which you happily comply to.
Bucky carries you home while Steve is on the phone. Your head is laying on Bucky's shoulder. Your little legs are trying to wrap themselves around him. With every step Bucky takes you fall more asleep, the jacket really did wonders for your cold body, seeing that it's now almost warm again.

'Where did you find her?' Wanda asks as she used her magic to see what happened with you.
'We found her shivering and sobbing in an alley... she told us her mother didn't want her...so I guess she was thrown out...' Steve says now holding a sleeping you in his arms.
'You're right, she was thrown out...god the poor thing was sitting there all day... she isn't a regular child though...I can sense something inside her...'
'Like what?' Bucky asks.
'A mutation...like me..she has powers... I can't see what she can do though... we will have to find out later... maybe let Bruce check on her?, or Cho?'
'I think she has seen enough strangers for now, I think we should just let her rest for now...'
'Well to be fair, you did ask for a child...' Natasha grins looking at the small girl.
'Our prayers have been answered...' Bucky grins.
'Hey guys what's-' Peter stops in his tracks when he sees you.
'Did you guys buy a baby?!' He asks confused.
They all shush him when you start to stir in your sleep, slowly waking up.
'We found her in an alley... we've decided to take care of her... and why would you think we bought a child Peter? That's not how it works...'
'Does that mean that she gets to stay?' He asks excited.
'Yes Peter...' Steve nods.

It's been a couple of weeks since you've been at this huge tower. You met Peter, your favourite person to play with.
Then you met the nice lady Wanda, who has cool powers just like you. And another red haired lady named Natasha, you don't talk to her that often because she's usually on a mission.
You like to be artistic, you like to draw with crayons and you like to paint with your fingers. You laugh a lot and you're really energetic, that is something that Bucky and Steve have noticed when they try to get you ready for bed at night.
Both Steve and Bucky are still learning, they weren't expecting to have a child this soon, so it takes some getting used to. But they manage pretty well.
You have your own bed, but you sleep mostly in between Bucky and Steve, you even started calling them dad by accident, but now it's intended.
'Uh Oh...looks like someone is tired..' Auntie Nat smiles as she sees you yawn and rub your eyes.
Your uncle Tony decided to throw a party, you got to dress up in a beautiful little dress and little shoes that click when you walk with them. But now you're really tired and trying to find Bucky or Steve.
'Come on... I'll take you to one of your dads..' she picks you up and you nod.
After a while of searching, Natasha found Bucky and carefully placed you in his arms.
'Let's get you to bed little miss...' Bucky grins as he walks down the hallway.
'Did you have fun?' He asks as he opens the door to your room.
'Mhm...' you hum tiredly.
After changing into your pyjamas, he carefully lays you down on the bed and pulls the large covers over you. He hands you the stuffed animal he got for you and you snuggle up with it.
'You think you can be a big girl tonight?' He asks and you nod. 'A very big girl...' He asks and you nod again with a smile.
'Remember if something happens, just ask Friday, she will contact us immediately and we will be here in a flash okay?'
You yawn and get comfortable in the huge bed as Bucky kisses your head.
'Night doll...'
'Goodnight daddy...' you yawn again.

He smiles to himself, how could he be this lucky?, Steve as his husband and you as his child?.
Later that evening when Bucky and Steve return you're still sleeping, but something is off, and then they see it. A purple glow going around the room, making things float.
'Well it's safe to say we know what her power does now..' Steve jokes.
'Wanda said something like this could happen.. as long as we don't-' Bucky can't even finish his sentence before he hears a few crashes here and there.
'Wake her up...'
'Hey you're back..' you smile sleepy.
'Go back to sleep honey...' Steve softly comments and you close your eyes again.
