The next day, Sam arrived at the school five minutes early.

"Puckett?" Even Freddie was surprised. She was usually late to class, after all.

"What, dork?"

"You're here awfully early."

"What do you want? Carly's waiting for me in class."

Freddie Benson raised an eyebrow.

"Really, now..?"

"Okay, let's cut the crap." Sam said. "Last night, on Splashface. What did you mean?"

"What are you talking about?" the brown-haired boy asked innocently while pretending to get some books from his locker.

She narrowed her eyes. "Don't make me hit you, Fredderly."

"Then I guess I won't tell you, then.."

"Hey!"

"Hi, Sam."

She huffed indignantly. "Answer me!"

Freddie slammed his locker shut, giving her a wry smile. "Do you really want to know?"

"I wouldn't be asking if I didn't, nub!"

"Okay then."

And with little force, he grabbed her arms and pulled her closer towards him as their lips met.

Her eyebrows raised.

His eyes closed.

But she didn't move, and neither did he.

"Just to see your reaction." Freddie whispered as he pulled away, watching her with amused eyes.

And then he kissed her again.
