You dreaded the "Getting to know you trivia" challenge, because you knew it would reveal your most embarrassing moment, that you once threw up on your crush back in high school.

The atmosphere was tense as the contestants gathered for the next challenge, Truth or Laser Shark. Jo was sitting next to you, sensing your unease. You had been targeted by Anne Maria ever since the competition began, and Jo was growing tired of it.

As Chris explained the rules of the challenge, Anne Maria couldn't help but smirk at you, knowing that you would have to reveal an embarrassing moment. She leaned over and whispered, "Prepare to be humiliated in front of Jo."

For some reason, Anne Maria figured out you had a crush on Jo, and you guessed that it was because whenever Jo was around, you struck up a conversation with her and would be visibly nervous. It didn't take a genius to figure out that you had feelings for her.

"Now who is the one who threw up all over their crush right after being rejected?" Chris announced, mischievously.

You blushed furiously, avoiding Jo's gaze. You knew that was you and you hated how you were being put on the spot. You didn't find Brick or B's expense funny, so you sure didn't find your predicament funny either.

You sighed then quickly pressed the buzzer, feeling your cheeks burn. Everyone laughed, especially Anne Maria.

Anne Maria laughed, "Wow, there's no way you'll impress Jo now. Who would want to date a girl who throws up on people?"

You blushed and felt even more ashamed too that Anne Maria just revealed your crush on Jo to everyone. You struggled to find the right words to defend yourself.

That's when Jo stood up, her voice cutting through the laughter. "Enough, Anne Maria!" she declared, her tone firm and commanding. "You think it's funny to humiliate someone just because they had an embarrassing moment? So what if that incident happened with Y/N's past crush? We've all had our moments. Grow up."

Anne Maria's smirk faded as Jo's words sank in, and the other contestants fell silent, their eyes shifting between the two girls and you. Jo continued. "Y/N is brave for even being here, and they deserve our respect, not our ridicule. So, cut the crap and show some decency."

A genuine smile spread across your face and a warmth filled your heart, knowing your crush just defended you. You liked how Jo didn't judge you based on your past and that's what made you admire her even more.

Jo's eyes softened as she caught your gaze, a hint of a smile playing at the corners of her lips. She had always been tough and competitive, but in that moment, you saw a different side of her—the side that stood up for what was right and defended those who needed it.

Slowly, the laughter and mockery gave way to a sense of respect for both you and Jo.

Jo took a step closer to you, her voice now filled with sincerity. "Hey, forget what Anne Maria said. You're strong, and your past doesn't define you. I've seen what you're capable of, and that's what matters."

"Thank you." You told her, feeling butterflies erupt in your stomach.

Jo's smile widened, and she placed a reassuring hand on your shoulder. "No problem. Just remember, you're here for a reason, and you've got what it takes. Don't let anyone make you feel otherwise."

You nodded, appreciating her support. You felt glad to have someone like Jo by your side during this crazy competition.

Later that night, you and Jo went walking along the beach together. You still didn't confess your feelings for her, but you were certain you were smitten.

As you strolled along the shoreline, the silence between you was comfortable, filled only with the sound of your footsteps in the sand. The sound of the crashing of the waves provided a soothing backdrop and you couldn't help but smile.

"You know," Jo began, her voice teasing, "I've noticed something about you, Y/N."

Your heart skipped a beat, unsure of what she was about to say. "What is it?"

Jo leaned in closer, her voice barely above a whisper, as she blushed. "You're really cute when you're embarrassed."

A blush instantly crept up your cheeks, and you turned your gaze away from her, attempting to hide your flustered state. Jo chuckled, finding your reaction cute.

Jo chuckled softly, clearly enjoying your reaction. "See? Just like that. It's one of the things I adore about you."

You peeked at her from the corner of your eye, a mix of shyness and delight evident in your expression. "You... you think I'm cute?"

"Yes, Y/N." Jo smiled, looking directly at you. "You're very cute. I like you."

A surge of warmth spread through your chest, and you couldn't help but smile back at her.

"I like you too." You confessed.

Jo's smile grew wider, as she took your hand in hers. "Come on, let's continue this journey together."
