Jo had always struggled with internalized misogyny and believed that being feminine and non masculine was seen as weak. She had always secretly wanted to be more feminine, but had never felt comfortable doing so.

It was the week before the Total Drama reunion and you and Jo were going together. You have never been afraid to embrace your feminine side, which was something Jo never understood.

As you were walking along the mall together, you spotted a boutique with beautiful dresses and accessories. Without a word, you went your way to the store, ready to find the perfect dress for the reunion party.

"Y/N, I don't see the point in dresses. They're all so girly and flowery. I'll stick with my suit." Jo commented, looking at the dresses in disapproval.

You smiled, taking out some dresses from the rack. "And that's okay, Jo. You're not obligated to be into feminine things. I accept you for who you are."

You went into the changing room to try on the dresses and Jo sighed to herself as she watched you. She secretly wanted to try dressing as feminine, but she strongly saw it as degrading. It was just a belief she was raised with.

Jo glanced at a beautiful black mini dress and she couldn't help but crack a small smile. She envisioned how she would look wearing that to the reunion party, with carefully applied makeup and matching heels.

After you were done trying on the dresses, you decided on getting two of them. As you put the remaining dresses on the rack, you said, "Let's check out and then we can get your suit."

Jo nodded hesitantly, but you couldn't help but notice her lingering gaze on that mini black dress. With a small smile, you picked up the dress from the rack and said teasingly, "You want this dress, don't you?"

Jo blushed furiously, trying to deny it, "No! Of course not! Dresses are for the weak."

You chuckled, still holding the dress. "No they're not, Jo. It is possible to be both feminine and powerful. No offense, but we need to unpack your internalized misogyny."

Jo was taken aback by your call out towards her behavior. Her initial instinct was to get defensive, but after a moment of contemplation, she realized you had a point.

"Okay, Y/N." Jo sighed, giving you a vulnerable look. "I will admit that I do want this dress and I do want to embrace my feminine side.. But how do I impact internalized misogyny when I believed it for so long?"

"Trust the process. The first thing you need to do is confront your inner biases."

Throughout the day, you and Jo had deep discussions about internalized misogyny and why she has been having those beliefs that being into feminine things was regarded as weak. After these discussions, Jo began to slowly open her mind to your perspective. It was uncomfortable for her to admit how her initial thoughts were wrong, but she was willing to learn.

Among the most important discussions was helping Jo pick out elegant accessories for her dress that she planned to wear to the reunion party. You helped her decide on a necklace, bracelet, and earrings that would go with her dress and personality. Because of Jo opening her mind to this new perspective, she discovered that she has a taste for elegance and simplicity.

The night of Total Drama's reunion party came and you helped Jo carefully apply her makeup. She was a little embarrassed but with you, she felt more confident.

"You're beautiful." You whispered, as you admired her appearance.

Jo blushed but tried to act nonchalant, "Thanks."

You chuckled then took her hand, as you walked towards her car. You were excited to see how things would go, knowing Jo was stepping out of her comfort zone.

When you and Jo finally arrived at the ballroom of the hotel, you saw a bunch of surprised looks going Jo's way. Jo tried her best to avoid their gaze as she grew more uncomfortable.

"Wow, Jo. I'm impressed. Who knew you had this side to you?" Brick commented, smirking slightly.

Jo narrowed her eyes at Brick, "Back off, jock strap."

You squeezed Jo's hand, conveying her some support and she softly smiled at you.

Despite the shocked looks from numerous people, there were also people who complimented Jo's appearance such as Mike, Zoey, Cameron and Dakota. Jo's confidence slowly started to grow even more, knowing that she didn't have to reject femininity to be seen as tough.

Just then, Lightning and Brick were having an arm wrestling contest and Jo immediately went to join them, since she was naturally competitive. However, Lightning looked at Jo's appearance and began laughing in amusement.

"Jo, you look like a delicate flower." Lightning cackled, mocking her. "There's no way you'll win."

Jo glanced at you, feeling her confidence deflate just a little, but you smiled at her in encouragement, "Jo, you got this! Remember what we talked about."

Jo nodded, a determined expression on her face. She sneered to Lightning, "We'll see about that!"

Jo and Lightning got into their arm wrestling confidence and you smiled a little at how Jo was breaking stereotypes with her appearance and strength. After a few moments, Jo had won, causing you, Mike and Zoey to cheer proudly. Lightning scoffed in disbelief at how Jo turned the tables on him and how she still managed to have strength while looking feminine.

"I learned a lot from you this week, Y/N." Jo whispered, as you walked back to the dinner table together.

You smiled, sitting beside her. "And I'm proud of you."

Jo wrapped her arm around you, pulling you closer, "You taught me that there's nothing wrong with being feminine and that it doesn't diminish the strength I have within myself. In fact, being feminine can be a strength too. It's beautiful."

"You're beautiful, Jo." You told her, meaning that she's beautiful inside and out. "Your strength inspires me every day."

You and Jo sat there at the dinner table for the rest of the night, with your relationship growing stronger each minute. You accepted all parts of each other through your vulnerabilities, and that was what made your relationship so special.
