Chapter 95: I hate nice girls/Being brutally honest

Evening

Hachiman POV

"I told you, it's necessary Ryuji" I said 

"But are you sure? I know I question Ichinose sometimes, but do you really need to do this?" Kanzaki asked 

"Face the facts, the more we lose like this. I won't even get close to even facing Ayanokouji" I said 

"Are you really planning to take her spot as class representative? I thought you weren't interested" he said 

"I know but seeing as that our class is losing a bit of momentum since the final exam in the last school year. I can't take anymore losses like this" 

"Listen what you're doing is going to cause some problems for the class in terms of morale. I know that Ayanokouji is dangerous, but you don't have to go this far by having to kick Ichinose out" Kanzaki said 

Ryuji maybe right, but that's not my concern. Ever since I arrived here, I had to start from scratch. Having to be forced to enjoy the facade known as youth. But this school was different where merit matters and it was the perfect place to become a different person. To become a stronger version of your previous self. I've come to realize that when I figured out the S-system on my own. It was away for a person to understand their place and try to grow on their own. 

It is a flawed system since in a way, it brings out the worst if you don't know how it works. That's why there are defectives and elites. Each separated based on merit. 

And if I fall to Class D by the next semester. Would that make me a defective? 

I will not be classified as one all because of that girl.   

And I will not be left behind. I will face you, Ayanokouji. I've had friends and enemies, but a rival is something new to me. Something that for once in my life, actually made me enjoy competition. Someone who I want to be on the same level with. Someone that is so strong that it motivates me more to want to fight back.

"I already made my decision. If we demote to Class D, then I have to take action" I said before leaving 

I sent a text message to Ichinose to have an urgent meeting with me ASAP. 

Sometimes in life, you just have to be honest with yourself even if the truth hurts them. 

And the truth is... 

I hate nice girls and Ichinose is the nicest of them all so to some degree, I do hate her kindness and it led her to her class getting demoted and not taking enough serious action. 

I then arrived at our meeting point where after 10 minutes, she arrived. 

"Hikigaya-kun" 

"Took you long enough" 

"Sorry, I was at a party. So, what did you want to talk about?" she asked 

"Ichinose, remember our conversations back in the first 3 days when I started here?" I asked 

"Huh? well..." 

*flashback* 

1st day of school

3rd person POV

Hachiman: hmm? 

Ichinose: Hello 

Hachiman: what do you want? 

Ichinose: Just wanted to say hello 

Hachiman: leave me alone 

Ichinose: Come on, I just want you to introduce yourself to us that's all 

Hachiman: *sigh* fine. I'm Hikigaya Hachiman, I'm average when it comes to my studies that's all, I hope we can get along (Even though I wouldn't likely do so)
