Chapter 67: King and Queen

Ayanokouji POV

This is it the day where I face whoever class it will be in the final exam. Although I have not been called yet since Shigeru-sensei told me to wait until a winner is decided. So pretty much all Class S will be doing is watching our potential opponents or just randomly be lazy like Houtarou as Kei is trying to convince him again to join him. Man, I seriously think that Kei and Houtarou already looked like best friends at this point. Anyways all of us are watching each class carefully. We all separated into groups in order to spread the increase of information we need.

Kei, Yuuichi, Houtarou and Aru are with me. Karma took Tatsuya, Yumeko, Kaguya and Miyuki. Sora is with Shiro, Light, Ryuzaki. Finally, Lelouch took Suzaku, Kazuto, and Asuna. We gathered enough intel as soon as possible.  

My group has wandered around the area where the basketball court is as we see Sudo doing really well against Class D. 

"Hey come in, you there?" It was my walkie talkie and Karma was speaking on the other end. 

"Kiyotaka here" 

"Looks like Class A is currently doing really well" he said 

"Well, that's not surprising" I said

"Yeah, but get this. Hikigaya just rolled Class A in a Literature test with a 100% score" he added 

"Woah, he did that?" Kei asked 

"Yeah, guess you're right Kiyotaka-kun. This guy ain't no joke" Karma said as suddenly another voice comes in 

"Hello, it's me Sora" 

"How's you investigation?' I asked 

"Well looks like Class C just won a flash mental arithmetic" 

"Hm?" 

"Yeah, Koenji just completely destroyed them in it" I thought that he isn't interested? Sometimes I just don't understand this guy. 

"Oh yeah not just him but some girl named Matsushita did really good there as well" Sora said 

"Matsushita?" I asked 

"Yeah, she's surprisingly smarter than I thought she'd be" he said 

"I see" another voice suddenly joins in, and it was Lelouch

"Quite impressive for someone who could do arithmetic this difficult" Lelouch said 

"Yeah, even I couldn't do math as well as the next guy" Yuuichi said referring to Kei 

"Well, that's because..." 

"You're a genius" Yuuichi cuts Kei off

"Hey! let me finish" Kei pouts 

Hours go by as now the first round is finish with results being that Class A as expected beats Class B as for the other matchup. Class C won against Class D in a close match. I guess Haru did his magic in beating Ryuen. 

There was announcement that the next matchup will be Class A vs Class C in the finals to determine who will face Class S in this exam but first there was a 30 min break before it happens. 

Our group walked around the halls as we suddenly encountered Haru on the way.  

"Well, what do you think?" Haru asked 

"I heard Class D lost. You really want to win and face me again huh?" I asked 

"Listen, you may have won that battle at the rooftop, but this war isn't over. Once Sakayanagi is out of the way, you'll be next" Haru said with a big grin on his face as he left.
