Ayanokouji POV
It was after class that I'm having lunch with Sakuta and Houtarou. Now you may be wondering. Why did I decide to sit with these people? Well, I guess you could say that I took an interest in this sudden friendship that they have. These two in particular are unapproachable but the way I see it, they just enjoy being lonely. So, I went to their table and just hang out with them.
"Hey" Sakuta greeted me with a blank tone
"Hey" I greeted back
It was pretty quiet. Both of them didn't speak. Usually, I would wait for someone to initiate the conversation, but I guess in this case. I'll have to do it.
"So, how are you doing?" I asked
"I'm fine, nothing much to say there" Sakuta replied
"So why did you enroll here?" I asked
"Actually, I got a recommendation from my parents to enroll here since they told me that it's a nice school to go to despite the strict rules. I know it's not the craziest reason, but they wanted me to go here because they told me the education here is the best in Japan" he explained
"I see"
"Hey Sakuta, have you ever had any friends before? Because you look like you wanted to be alone almost like me" Houtarou said
"I have some, but it really sucks that I had to leave them and my girlfriend"
"Eh?" Me and Houtarou said in unison
"Seriously?" I asked
"Yeah, she's a senpai and she sometimes wore a bunny outfit. I didn't understand why at first but that's a long story for me to tell" Sakuta said. Bunny outfit? well, this might just be an odd story if this goes on.
"Bunny outfit? is she a mascot or a cosplayer?" Houtarou asked
"Not exactly but I can't go over too many details" Sakuta replied
"Fine, hey this might sound weird coming from me, but you remind me of me and Kiyotaka" Houtarou said
"Hmm? how so?"
"Well, you look a guy who wouldn't work for anything unless you want to. I can tell you're just like us" Houtarou said. Which part? the dead eyes? the fact that we only do things unless we wanted to? or the fact we are loners at one point.
"Is that how you see me? what about you Ayanokouji?" Sakuta asked
"Well, you do remind me of Houtarou and the fact that you both hung out since you two met as if you both suddenly have an understanding" I said
As we continue having our conversation, another person suddenly joins us, and it was someone unexpected.
"You three look like you're having fun, not that I care and all" Hikigaya suddenly arrived as we all stared at him.
I find it kinda strange because we have four people with pretty much dead eyes in the same place at the same time. We all just stared at each other.
"Are you guys just going to stare at me weird or let me have my lunch in peace?" Hikigaya asked as the three of us just returned to minding our business.
"Who's that?" Sakuta asked
"He's Hikigaya Hachiman from Class 2-B. He may not look much but he's a clever guy, so I suggest you be cautious around him" I said
"Eh? you sure I mean his eyes tell me that he's just like us." Sakuta said
"Hey just because we all have dead looking eyes doesn't mean we're the same" Hikigaya said
