"This does look like Tirora, a cute small town." Sonali commented, adjusting her pallu, "There's something about the places like this, it takes back to the old carefree times."

"Like the time we met for the first time?" Mukesh's eyes danced mischievously, "I remember you were fuming, probably planning to take a brick and break my head."

Sonali blushed and lightly hit his arm, "I didn't break your head, did I?"

"Ah, no..." Mukesh teased, muttering to her, "You did capture my heart though."

"Vahini, you haven't changed at all!" Bincy chuckled, "Always shouting at Dada, taunting day and night," she turned her head towards Mukesh from the passenger seat and addressed him, "How did you survive these many years with her?"

Mukesh dramatically sighed, "I won't reveal my secrets, those are too precious to be spilled just like that."

Satya laughed along with Bincy.

A gentle smile graced Xavier's lips, a sense of happiness washing over him as he absorbed the ongoing conversation between the people he held dear. It wasn't just them, but the warmth and familiarity of their interactions that enveloped him in a comforting embrace. At that point in his life, amidst the lively banter and shared laughter, he was immersed in a sense of belonging that surpassed mere words. It was a moment of tranquility, as he cherished the affection and camaraderie that enveloped them all.

And it all had transpired—all because of his beloved Kanmani.

"Vannakkam, please come inside!"

Saranya and Vasanthi welcomed their guests, "Hope, you didn't encounter any challenges on your journey here."

"No, I thoroughly enjoyed the travel," Sonali replied, "And the weather here is far better than in Chennai."

Ashok nodded in agreement, "It's quite challenging over there. Whenever I have to attend to business matters, I eagerly anticipate the day's conclusion so that I can swiftly return home."

Mukesh inquired, "Where is Krithika?"

"She has gone to a temple nearby." Aarthi replied, "One of her school friends dropped by this morning; she'll be back shortly."

Dismay clouded Xavier's expression.

Since their last visit to her home, she had resigned from her job and had stayed in her home because of their relationship. She remained resolute despite Xavier's attempts to reassure her and defend her professional integrity. "I'll be just the boss's wife, not a normal employee of the Xhasis." She had declared. "As your wife, I would inevitably be seen with the judgment of being superior to others, and I refuse to accept that fucking fate." Xavier had argued about her aspirations, reminding her of her dreams and ambitions. However, she had surprised him with her response, flashing a confident smile. "Watch me, Mr. Joseph," she had said. "I'll become an entrepreneur, not your field though."

He had no clue about her business idea or capital requirements. Whenever asked, she consistently refused to share details, offering the same reply "Oh, Xav, I don't need your money. I have my plans and investors."

But who?

He understood the challenges of launching a business firsthand. He had spent five years overcoming obstacles to take the initial leap—a journey that had been too exhausting to make him realize that business was no joke. He yearned to support her in her endeavor. But her silly obstinance checked his patience.

It had been a month—one full month of not being with her.

Oh, how much he missed her, video calls did no justice. He had longed to visit her every weekend, but the relentless workload thwarted his efforts to turn his dream into reality. And she dared to go to some temple with her stupid friend when he came to meet her at her home.

"Your face looks like you have been asked to eat your shit," Satya whispered to him, interrupting his irritated reverie, "Can't the lover boy wait for a few hours to meet Juliet?"

"Inquire with Valmiki about the experience of sleeping in separate bedrooms, and you'll understand," he growled in a subdued voice.

Satya scoffed, "Who's sleeping in separate bedrooms?"

"What the fuck?"

"We are married, it comes with certain perks that I can't miss."

Xavier felt repulsed by Satya's reply and hastened his steps to walk past her while she laughed openly at his opinion of her.

A/N

So, the families meet... finally.

"Raanjhanaa Hua Main Tera" is an absolute gem for a groom to star in his sangeet. The beats, the lyrics, the music- I mean I don't see any song as happy and obsessive as this for a man to dance at his wedding.

I remember dancing to this in my lab when I had cleared some random exam, lol XD
