Krithika felt a bout of anxiety kick in when she received the email asking for her confirmation for the next round of interviews. She had cleared the first round, which she had been sure to crack. But things were different then.

She had wanted to run away from Xavier, go to someplace far from here to avoid the temptation of kissing him. But now, everything changed.

Now, she wanted to see his beautiful dimples every day, wanted to smell his musky cologne, and for sure, wanted to look into his damned golden-brown eyes that adored her every time they looked at her.

First time in her life she had felt as beautiful as he had described her on their second date. His eyes had stared into her soul when he had recited a poem for her.

"That's wonderful, which book?", she had asked.

"From Xavier's heart, my darling.", he had replied with a wink.

He had told her that he always had an itch to write poems, something his mother used to do a lot. He had picked up the habit from her but his passion for engineering had shadowed other parts of him.

She now knew the things that he had forgotten over time. It was beautiful to know a person in such details, very intimate.

And she wanted to cherish it.

It was late, again. But this time it wasn't about work; it was about facing him. She knew that Xavier would be upset and would want her to drop out of this job hunt. She dreaded meeting him face to face but she didn't want to send him a message about it or inform him in a call. And anxiousness would kill her if she didn't spill it to him immediately.

Rathna as usual had insisted on staying with her, but she had shooed him. She knew that Xavier worked late on Mondays, he had told her something about the first day of the week being the best and most fruitful.

She marched to his cabin and saw his hulking frame behind the computer through glass walls.

"Xavier...", she peeped inside without knocking.

His inquiring brows immediately raised in unison, "Sweetheart, what are you doing here, it's too late!", he stopped tapping the keyboard and focussed his attention on her, "You look worried, what happened?"

"I wanted to talk to you about something.", she walked inside the cabin, shutting the door behind her.

He stood straight and strode towards her, "Yes?"

"I had applied for the position of Assistant Manager in the Marketing Research Team at Singh and Asso--"

"You are searching for another job?", Xavier's question cut through her sentence.

Hanging her head down she closed her eyes, "Yes... I..."

"You got the position?"

She inhaled his musk and knew he was standing closer. Her hands fisted her kurti, "No, I am selected for the second round of interviews."

"That's great news, darling.", she felt his fingers easing her hands in his hold, "I am sure that you'll clear the next round as well. Are you worried about preparations?"

She looked at him, his face held a genuine smile and it confused her, "Aren't you upset?", she asked.

"Why?"

"I'll have to quit here, you'll no longer be able to see me regularly.", she muttered.

His smile widened showing his dimples, "Why do I have a feeling that it's actually about you being upset that you won't be able to see me regularly?"

She pursed her lips and glared at him.

He chuckled, "Sweetheart, it's your career. I am not saying that you can't grow here, especially a mentor like Satya is more valuable than anything.", he held her face in his left hand, "But that shouldn't chain you from flying anywhere else."

Her heart felt heavy and something beautiful started to bud inside it, for Xavier, because of Xavier. It was intense and she felt herself drawn to him.

They stared into each other's eyes for a long time.

Her eyes traveled to his lips, "Kiss me, Xavier.", and she craned her head to meet his length, "Kiss me now."

"As you wish, my darling!"

And he crouched down to kiss her. His soft lips lulled hers into them, they were gentle and addictive. He smiled against her lips when her arms flew around his shoulders, "We shouldn't be kissing here, sweetheart.", he murmured, "There are cameras all around."

She broke free from their kiss and he pressed his forehead against hers as they shared the same air to breathe. Her lips curled into a pout, her mind craving more of his kiss.

"Oh darling, you are going to be the death of me.", she laughed as he groaned and bent down to kiss her again. This time more passionately than ever.

If there's a song that I could dedicate to expressing intimacy in love, a girl's POV, it's "Naane Vaarugiren"

Today, I heard it twenty times already, is there a way I can connect it to my soul?
