"By the way, we heard that you are engaged!", Sonali exclaimed, sipping her last sip of the ginger tea that Xavier had asked his assistant to bring for both of them, "That also has been conveyed to us like news from Iksha!"

Xavier cleared his throat, pushing the shitty thoughts about his birth father aside, and he said, "Aai, mi tumha doghanna lagnaat bolavanaar hoto.", he justified that he was planning on inviting them to the wedding.

He did have their phone numbers and called them frequently to keep a tab on them but he had completely skipped the details about his marriage to them.

Xavier had wanted to meet Krithika's parents first, before anything. He had asked Krithika, hesitance laced his features, "I want to take you to Tirora. I want to introduce you to my parents... I mean Samiksha's parents... my Aai and Baba. Are you fine with that?", and she had replied with a mischievous grin, "Of course, I want to meet your lovely Aai. How could I miss my chance to know the mystery of your six-feet-four-inches height, is it the Complan or some extraordinary ingredient in your meal that she mixed and fed you to make you this tall; as you already removed the option of genetics." then, she had pondered, her face scrunching with a pout, "Wait... But Samiksha Akka is almost as tiny as me though!", making him laugh aloud.

"So, you don't want our permission to marry this girl!?", Sonali Aai's question brought him out of his thoughts. She placed her cup on the coffee table and her doe eyes widened.

Tapping Mukesh's arm, "See... I told you, aaj kaal chi mul nusteech krutaghn astat...", she shook her head, claiming the present generation to be ungrateful and accusingly clicked her tongue, "Samiksha had fought and somehow mended us to her will. This boy...", waving her hand at Xavier she continued, "...the first time, at least he had brought that Singh girl to our home and introduced her to us. This time he is compelling us to be the guests at his wedding."

Mukesh kept smiling at his wife as she continuously assaulted their son with her snarky remarks.

"Deva! Ghor Kalyug!", Sonali kept rambling, "Such a waste to be the parents... Live our whole life for these kids only to be called strangers at last!"

Xavier turned his face and stared at Mukesh with a pleading look.

"There was a time when Bharatvarsh had a son like Shravan Kumar who carried his blind parents on his shoulder, and now..."

His Baba blinked once at Xavier in assurance, "Sona, leave him alone, for now, you can continue tomorrow.", he pushed his chair and stood straight.

"Baba, aho biscuit tar ghya...", Xavier pointed towards the plate on his coffee table containing cookies- arranged in an aesthetically geometric pattern, requesting him to at least eat them.

"Why? Keep your fancy biscuits to yourself.", Sonali scoffed, "We want to have a proper meal. Both of us are old and diabetic, for your kind information, and it's already lunchtime."

"Sona, you are so dramatic.", Mukesh loudly sighed.

"Am I?"

"Yes."

"Why didn't you think that before marrying me?", she rolled her eyes.

"Aai, you want to have lunch, right?", Xavier interrupted their banter. His eyes skimmed through his wristwatch and he realized he had enough time to take them somewhere for a good meal, "Let's go. I'll check if Krithika is free, she can also join us."

He took his phone from the desk to message Krithika.

"Does she work here!?", Sonali was surprised.

"Yes."

"Oh, I see.", she narrowed her eyes, "You are the boss, can't you ask her to leave her work and join us?"

"Hmm... She works for my partner, Satya.", he typed on his phone.

Looking at the questions spiraling inside his Aai's eyes, he kept his phone back on the desk. He added, "Satya doesn't like her subordinates to be ordered around without her knowledge, and if she finds out that I had asked her best employee to take a half-day leave for me, she'll pour scalding lava on my head."

"Oh."

"Krithika is not responding to my message, I'll try to get my assist-- No, I'll call her from my office landline.", he rushed towards his desktop and searched for the extension to Krithika's cabin, "Hmm... Haa changla option aahe.", he murmured to his Aai, thinking it to be the best option for immediate response.

Dialing from his landline, he put the phone on the speaker. It rang two times before someone picked it up, "Hello, Ms. Selvaraj from the Logistics Management Department, may I know who is this?"

At that exact moment, Xavier realized that perhaps it hadn't been a wise decision to call via landline.

Xavier loudly inhaled, feeling like a stupid, "Mr. Joseph here. Can you connect to Ms. Ashok from your department?"

"Oh, sure sir!"

After a few incoherent mumbling noises, he heard Krithika's voice, "Hello, sir?", she sounded pissed.

Obviously.

"Are you free?"

"No."

Pissed, yes, definitely...

"It's lunchtime."

"No."

"I said it's lunchtime."

There was a deep inhaling note, "Dafuq, no!", Krithika whispered, "Why the fuck you called me on the landline to talk about your sudden plans for lunch?"

Shit! Woman, calm down!

A/N

I so fucking hate Complan, the end of the discussion.

Also, some might be curious to know how many languages Xavier knows/understands. He's fluent in English, Hindi, Urdu, Marathi, Italian, and French; he understands and is somewhat fluent (medium fluency) in Malayalam, Bengali, Kannada, Tamil, Spanish, and Japanese. Our lovely Xav is a supergenius (incredibly high IQ) who's a fast learner; whenever I thought about Xav, I saw him as someone who had the curiosity to learn forever because he could easily understand complex things.

No, I don't know these many languages XD I do understand many languages but I am fluent in only four languages.

"Ishq Bulaava" is one of those 'not-so-ordinary' songs that became a part of my life. This was the first song that I heard from this movie and damn, I fell in love with it the moment Sanam and Shipra started singing. It's just so freaking beautiful.
