Ninety Nine: Xavier's Poems (Part 2)

Xavier felt something scratching his jaw. Grunting in his sleep he shifted his head to the side, but the itching continued. He clicked his tongue and slowly opened his eyes, and they met with Krithika's sparkling black eyes.

She was staring at him, her face peeking above his chin as it held a grin, "Hello, big boy!"

Raising his brows, "Big boy?", he questioned, his voice hoarse.

"Did Samiksha's mother feed you Complan daily?", her grin widened, "Now you can't even rest in a normal bed, Ayya needs only a Californian-King bed to comfortably sleep."

That was true. He happened to be too tall, way higher than average Indian men's height range, and all his life he had compromised with comfortability. That had been the same for Krishna; presumably, they had bonded over ranting about how difficult it was to survive with a height equivalent to Shri. Amitabh Bachchan. Once, Krishna had commented, "Dude, every fucking person I have met has asked me if I am a Basketball Champion!", and Xavier had scoffed, "Fuck, yeah, same here!"

But with money, things had changed. Now, he had everything according to his wish. Being a millionaire wasn't that bad, other than having extreme security in place. Especially with recent international investors and mergers, the press secretly plagued his house and office. It was extremely difficult to survive without any protection, to hide in the background like he used to do.

Fortunately, Alisha's cousin had a great security firm operating across India and he blindly trusted them; they allowed only family and friends to enter his premises. Initially, he had been annoyed by the idea but Farhan had throttled him into an agreement, and well, later he did feel better about the arrangement.

Even in Kumarakom, he had few men guarding him from the prying eyes of the media.

"Hello?", Krithika gently tapped his cheek, "Almost seven months into the relationship and you are already zoning out of my conversation, huh?", her nails dug into his jaw as she narrowed her eyes, "Huh?"

He flipped her over and caught her wrists in his right hand, fixing them above her head he gave a peck on her lips, "Now, if my Kanmani is splayed over me, completely naked, do you think my mind will focus on what is coming out of her mouth?"

She arched her back, "Hmm... It seems my Complan boy is always horny."

His left hand reached beneath her navel, traveling south, traveling to that place where she wanted him, "Only for you."

"Ah, Xavier!", she moaned, closing her eyes as he pleasured her the way she liked.

It had started to rain heavily and they had to shift to a nearby resort from the boathouse. It hadn't been an abnormal event as it happened to be monsoon season in Kumarakom. But Krithika had grumbled, "Nonsense, Indra Deva!", and he had laughed at her.

From that moment she had been glaring at him.

Xavier took a bite of his Naimeen Pollichathu, "Darling, there is nothing I can do about the natural process, it's monsoon."

"Whatever."

"Why are you angry at me?", he asked, placing a small cut of his fish on her plate.

She huffed, "I wanted you to be with me, alone, spend some time away from all your busy schedules and everyone.", she gobbled the fish he served her in one shot, "Yes, I am selfish and wanted all your time for myself."

He smiled, "I am still with you, all my time is for you."

"No, you have that stupid laptop with you in the suite, I saw it.", she took a handful of rice and shoved it in her mouth, "You'll now do all your pending work, and have all those fucking meetings.", she choked herself and coughed, spitting out some rice out of her mouth.

Leaning in he patted her head gently and wiped her lips, "You are furious because I carried my laptop with me?", he shook his head in disbelief, "I just wanted to check a few emails, that's all. Satya has promised that she will take care of things."

"Okay.", she blinked her eyes rapidly and he noticed that they were slightly wet.

"Kanmani, I never break my promises.", he kneeled beside her, "Please, don't be upset."

"Okay.", she sniffed.

They ate their dinner in absolute silence, until she said, "You cook better than these master chefs."

And he grinned.

--

"Lucifer is a very uncommon name to have, isn't it?", Krithika was sitting on Xavier's lap and he held her left hand in his, gradually inspecting her tiny fingers, caressing the soft skin and cute nail crowns.

After having their breakfast that day, Xavier had decided to rest in their suite. She had been more than happy to comply and had pushed him onto a rocking chair on the balcony. Surely, no one would hate a plush chair that could lull one to sleep. He had shrugged and had accepted his fate.

He tilted back, causing the chair to rock slightly, "Amma was a stubborn lady, I haven't seen a woman as fierce as her.", he sighed, "She was very fond of arts and literature, she had read that in Latin- Lucifer meant 'Light Bearer', the one who brings light to the world, a morning star."

"Oh.", she curled her body to fit perfectly on him and covered both of them with a blanket. It felt cozy to her, to smell his manly musk, to listen to his calming heartbeat, and to be enveloped by his loving warmth.

He brought her hand to his lips and kissed each finger, "She had fought with everyone to name me Lucifer, but in the birth certificate Achan had directed officials to write Xavier as my first name.", turning her hand he kissed her palm, "When I grew up, I had officially added Lucifer as my second name."

"Is it?"

"Yeah, it was her wish."

"Hmm..."

Nuzzling closer he inhaled the essence of Sandalwood on her, "I started to like you the day when you presented your work to me, you were so happy to discuss and confident about yourself.", hugging her he continued, "And you were so stubborn, just like my Amma, that you didn't apologize for calling me the 'Worst Boss'... Even when I tried to pressurize you."

"Hey, you had insulted me. I wasn't guilty of flashing you a reality check.", Krithika lightly punched him with her elbow, "You were so fucking rude to me, you prick."

He abruptly stood, carrying her in his arms and she shrieked in shock while tightly clutching his shirt, "My sweet little sheep, let me show you how rude this Lucifer can be.", he rasped.

Walking inside the suite, he hurriedly kicked the door behind him to close and Krithika heartily giggled, "You can't scare me, my lovely Devil."

A/N

Hehe, this was an adorable chapter to write.

The song attached- "Nee Oru Kathal Sangeetham" is so beautiful, and so poetic.

My favorite line is (and I would like to translate it as I want this song to reach as many readers as possible)- "Kadarkarai Kaatrae Vazhiyai Vidu Dhevadhai Vandhaal Ennodu"

It means- Hey, the salty breeze of the beautiful seashore, please make way, as today the (my) angel has come here, to the beach, to stroll out with me.

Awwww :')

I grew up listening to such songs. Idk about romance but I love beaches so much that during my time in Chennai, I went to the beach every weekend XD

Also, the whole song suits this chapter.
