Walking through the streets of the market, she felt herself yielded to her thoughts. It had been three days already, being suspended from her job and she wasn't worried about it all. Her mind was occupied elsewhere.

Krithika tried hard to not believe it, to not agree with what she had seen. Xavier had never expressed anything; he never had any emotion. He was an Asuran- a very handsome one- with a cold and stern attitude.

But...

That day his lips had curved in a beautiful smile and those bloody dimples had made her heart race faster. She had noticed his eyes, a few specks of gold in the depths of his brown eyes had sparkled brighter, they had held mischief whenever he annoyed her, he teased her.

It had looked so effortless that she wanted to believe it was true, it was genuine. Maybe the people in the office had been honest all along, it hadn't been a lie that they had seen Xavier's new side. And she denied it until she had experienced it herself. But why had it messed her mind?

She shouldn't be bothered by it. She had started applying for other jobs, to leave the place where he lived. But there was more to it, her mind wasn't delighted at all.

Leaving Satya would be tough for her but it wasn't about her idol anymore. She felt that her mind wanted to be in the Xhasis for him.

He was an absolute perfection as everyone had described, their one-on-one discussion consisted of the most fruitful knowledge she ever had gained. Even after his constant jabs on teasing her, and insulting her, she had enjoyed being with him. He surely brought the best and worst in her.

And that scared her.

"Finally, you guys decided that it was enough of breakups to patch yourself into a marriage?" Xavier remarked dryly as he held the wedding invitation card in his hand. It engraved "Alisha and Farhan", and he eyed it candidly.

Alisha rolled her eyes, "Fuck off, at least I am not the one who's divorced."

Regretting it immediately as she noticed him flinch at her comment, she muttered, "Farhan and I had differences, but I guess love triumphs.", she shrugged.

"Yeah, how many years before concluding that love triumphs?", he raised an inquiring brow, shifting on his sofa and motioning her to sit next to him, "Eleven or twelve?"

"Sixteen.", she walked towards him and swatted his hand to sit on his lap, they both hugged each other as she laid her head over his chest, "I am sorry for that remark."

"It doesn't matter.", he replied as he realized that he finally felt nothing while talking about his divorce. He didn't know how to react, whether to be happy about moving on with his life or feel depressed.

"You two were an item during the school days.", he muttered, sliding his fingers in her hair and untangling them, "It's surprising that he kept up with you."

She craned her head up and he saw her glaring eyes, "What?", he chuckled, "It's not a lie."

"He was a coward.", she sighed, "Never admitted his feelings and I was hurt."

It was true. Alisha had fallen head over heels for their new British-Muslim senior in the school. Perhaps, every girl in the school had a crush on that bloody prince. It didn't matter to Xavier to see everyone buzzing around the little handsome prick, he had all the exotic looks and riches. Except for one time, when that stupid had teased Alisha and Xavier had to step up to punch the life out of him.

Probably, I was the reason why they both even started conversing.

"Didn't he start to date you after I had thrashed him?", curiosity peeked as he tried to look at her face, his hands relaxing her scalp, "You should thank me."

"Thank you, Xavier- the cupid of my life.", she yawned and closed her eyes, "I feel sleepy.", he felt her body shifting in his lap, "There's so much comfort in you, what's the magic?"

Smirking, he whispered, "Well, I think women feel something else when they are wrapped in my arms.", that reply gained him a heavy smack on his arm.

They sat in silence for a while and he slid the card over the coffee table. Her steady breathing and her sweet little snores made him aware that she was deep asleep. Adjusting his arms he picked her up and stood straight.

"Xav, you are the best human in the world.", she unconsciously mumbled as he carried him. Carefully placing her on the bed, he tucked her comfortably under comforters.

All haughty and mighty under this adorable cuteness.

Smiling at her, he kissed her forehead, "Farhan is a great guy, you'll be happy with him."

"I know.", she mumbled again and flipped on the bed. He shook his head while grinning wide as he left her alone in the room to sleep.

"Ay Hairathe" or "Ae Maanpuru Mangaiyae", both are such soft melodies, both equally beautiful. It's not regular that I love the same song in both languages.
