Not a warning, just a piece of information: The chapter has a bit of Tamil conversation; I have explained it in the dialogue itself or it is added in the expression details of the character. You don't need to translate to read :)

I like to keep the conversation real, and this chapter required Tamil to have all the characters' emotions in place.

"Stop fiddling your fingers, you are making me anxious.", Xavier frustratedly muttered, holding Krithika's hand.

Snatching her hand away from him, she snapped, "Fucking shut up, I am so nervous." and started to walk faster than others.

Farhan rolled his eyes, "Do your relatives carry a Glock?", he clicked his tongue, "Cos Kri babe, I do.", he moved his suit jacket aside to flash his gun packed inside a holster, "Either you both calm down or I'll shoot you two before you try to populate our mother Earth."

"For what the fuck are you carrying a gun?", Xavier grunted, "That was not required at all."

Farhan scoffed, "Stop giving yourself so much value, I carry it for my safety."

"Do you have a fucking license for that?", Krishna seethed, "I might as well arrest you."

"Nawab Farhan Siddiqui, that's my name.", Farhan held a vicious smile, "And that is enough to make every higher official of yours go bonkers, got it cheeky SP?", he pouted, "Godsmacked, eh? Now, piss off!"

Krishna gritted his teeth, "Bastard!"

Xavier fumed at the atrocious comment of Farhan.

"If you guys have had your fill of proving who's the most powerful asshole present here, can we move on with the work in our hands.", Satya walked past the group of three men who scuffled. Like the bloody hell she would give two hoots about that, "Fucking testosterone-filled thickheads.", she muttered to herself.

Turning around she barked at Krithika, "You want to get married with the blessings of your parents, right?", she wrenched her executive's hand in a vice grip, "Then walk fast and stand up for yourself, these men are just full of their shit and won't be of any use."

"Satty darling, it is your bloody menstruation time, innit?", Farhan called out, "You seem to be cheerfully homicidal."

Krithika scrunched her face in disgust, "Are you always this-- Oh, fuck!", from the corner of her eyes she noticed her cousin staring at her in absolute shock from the balcony of 'Kartikeyan Villa', "Fuck, Preethi saw me!"

As if for evidence to her statement, the said pre-teen exuberantly waved at her, "Akka!", she shouted so loud that Krithika stopped in her tracks. Her mind wanted to run to the comfort of Xavier's SUV and never return to her home.

And then the whole gang of her aunts with... her Amma appeared next to Preethi, "Shit!", she cursed.

Krithika's eyes started to tear at the sight of a joyous grin slowly painting over her mother's face. She saw her mother disappear from the balcony and moments later, she emerged from the main gate.

Bowing her head, Krithika avoided staring into the big beautiful eyes of her Amma.

--

Xavier glanced at the lady scampering forward to them and immediately identified her.

Mrs. Saranya Ashok looked nothing like Krithika, except for her short, four-foot-ten-inch height. With a light brown complexion and soft wavy hair braided tightly, he realized that it was, actually, her son- Karthik- who had taken after her. She was all teary as she bolted to hug her daughter.

"Yen kannamma!", Krithika's mother lovingly held her face, "Ivlo naal aacha Ammave paaka varathuku? Maranthithiya yenne?"

From his knowledge of Tamil, Xavier deduced that her Amma was taunting her by asking about her whereabouts... or something similar, but he understood the gist of it.

Krithika just grunted in response. He could see how she avoided looking at her mother's face, how hurt his darling was by Saranya.

"Innum kovama Amma mele?", Saranya asked Krithika if she was still angry at her, and her daughter pointedly stepped back. Her face fell, "You are so like your father. Adamant, so adamant, and hurting me is a favorite game of yours and him.", a few tears escaped from her eyes.

Xavier felt his stomach twist.

The poor Saranya was being punished from all sides. She unconditionally loved her family, both her kids and husband. It was the cruel fate of hers that she had to choose between her daughter and husband, indeed it was unfortunate.

He couldn't see her cry and interjected, "Mrs. Ashok.", he stepped next to Satya and nodded.

A/N

Oh, the drama starts soon... I am waiting for Satya's and Farhan's (Now, you might know whom I love writing about the most XD) dialogue to flitter through all the tension. I fucking keep a tab open to study British slang to write Farhan's dialogues, not just slang I read how to use them else they might sound bad/ offensive to any native speaker. If you guys find a mistake do let me know.

"Kangal Neeye" is a gem, describing mother's love. So beautiful I cry.

Also, what the hell, I am writing so much XD I wrote almost 2K words in the past 6 hours! Perhaps, I want to write the final chapter cos I am too excited about that.
