Satya always sported a saree over any other costume. Krithika had seen in the tabloids and all the videos of her interview. And as an aid to impress her, she had decided to wear one. Only after wearing it did she realize it wasn't as easy to carry as Satya did it with grace. She had already tripped twice on her way to the office. Her anxiousness combined with her shitty saree draping skills made her falter steps on every walking path.

Fortunately, she held the chair and seated herself before Satya saw her struggle, "Hello, ma'am." she drawled placing her file on top of the desk. The file contained all the qualities and qualifications to prove that she could be of stellar use to their company.

Satya eyed the file, "I would rather know your skills than your qualifications."

Krithika tightly gripped the armrest, "Sure. I just brought my file as a customary practice." her reply was honest, it was a common practice after all, "Especially being a fresher, I thought it might help me."

"You don't need to explain", Satya chuckled, "I am not accusing you of anything."

Embarrassment crept up her skin when Krithika realized that she had immediately acted on being defensive, "Sorry, I... I just...", she stammered.

"Do tell me why I should hire you as one of my Trainee Executives?" Satya cut in, "Other than the obvious reason that you need a job and salary to survive.", she smiled hiding the mirth in her eyes, "What do I gain from hiring you? And you are a graduate fresher, probably the least qualified in my list of interviewees."

Krithika felt intimidated by her straightforwardness, "My internships and qualifications prove my ability to be fit for this position.", she felt confident when she saw Satya raising her brows in appreciation at her reply, "I have worked in similar roles before, managed logistics and marketing in real life and have been in business since my childhood."

"You do know that this is a temporary position for six months and only one of the trainees will be taken in for a permanent contract under the Logistics Management Department." Satya tapped her pen on the desk, "If you don't get to be that one person, what would you do?"

Krithika opened her mouth to reply to her with a regular answer but closed it immediately when she saw something spark in Satya's eyes. This was a test, she wasn't asking her normal questions, related to marketing or work. She was testing her interest and passion; she was judging her resolve to join the Xhasis. Satya Devi was looking beyond the desperation of a normal employee and searching for something different. Buttering wouldn't work, she was not the usual inspirational and motivational quotes type of boss.

"I would search for another job and make sure you regret your decision to not select me.", Krithika replied before she could stop herself.

Satya's eyes widened and she laughed aloud, "Vengeance for such a small thing, is it?"

"No, I... I never said I would try to beat your success, I just said I would work hard wherever I go and help in the success of that organization." Krithika replied politely, "Besides, no one has time for petty revenge."

"Hmm, I see..."

Taking the glass of water sitting in front of her, Krithika slowly gulped its contents. She somewhat felt relaxed. This wasn't as hard as she had felt, she was much more comfortable talking with Satya. She sure was intimidated by her aura but her nerves had calmed down when Satya had laughed. Even though she was confused about whether her laughter was from amusement or was an insult.

Either way, she accepted her fate and readied herself for further questions.
