Not a warning, just a piece of information: The chapter has a lot of Malayalam conversation; I have explained it in the dialogue itself or it is added in the expression details of the character. You don't need to translate to read :)

I like to keep the conversation real, and this chapter required Malayalam to have all the characters' emotions in place.

"Where are we going today?"

It was the last day of their blissful vacation.

Xavier had got information about his Chitta- his mother's only sister. He had been trying to get in touch with her for a long time now but hadn't located her. She had been the only person who had fought with his Amma, asking her to leave the monster of a husband, but his mother had been too adamant to give up her stupid love and had died living a life in hell.

Recently, the detective agencies he had paid to work out the information had alerted him. He had got to know that his aunt lived near the coasts of Kandakkadavu, and he instantly had planned to meet her.

He turned towards Krithika, "To see Chitta.", his left hand raked through his hair as his eyes kept peeking outside the car once in a while.

"Chithha?", she tasted the word, frowning at why he was taking her to watch a Tamil movie that she already had seen. Well, it was a beautiful movie, no doubt, but too traumatic to watch again.

Sadly chuckling he held her hand, "My Amma's younger sister, Bincy Chitta.", he lightly pressed her fingers, "I am kind of nervous, it's been thirty years. She probably won't even remember me."

Oh!

She blinked.

He kept tapping over her fingers and she could sense his anxiousness. Kissing his hand she gave him a comforting smile, "We will find out."

"Enthada mone, ithra neram edukunne avide?", someone shouted from far inside the house.

A teen boy wearing a loose t-shirt and shorts scrutinized Xavier and Krithika as they stood near the metal grilled gate of his house, "Amme, etho oru fancy guy vannit itha ningale chothikunnu.", he shouted back, "Philippu ethenkilum loan veendum edutho?"

He narrowed his eyes at Xavier and whispered, "Hey, my brother will pay back the money soon, no need to disturb my Amma, okay?"

"Listen, kid...", Xavier sighed, exasperated by the whole misunderstanding, "I don't even know your name!"

Krithika decoded the fluent- no subtitle- Malayalam scene unfolding there. She had started to learn a few words for the sake of being able to comprehend the sweet dirty talking that Xavier oh so passionately murmured to her during their intimate moments.

She understood that the lad in front of them was the son of Xavier's aunt- and a cousin of his, who thought that the freaking businessman- a fancy guy according to him- beside her was a ruthless loan shark and had visited there with his stout men- or goons- to get his money back which his brother- probably elder to him- Philip owed.

She suppressed herself from giggling like a fool. Xavier did have the looks of a 'cold and rich baddie', not so long time ago she also had believed him to be a crazy heartless asshole. But now, she knew that how Xavier couldn't harm even a mosquito, he would likely reply with, "Every organism is important for nature, why kill them?"

"Philippu ennod onnum paranjitillallo!", a lady wearing a crisp cotton saree came rushing out of the door, cursing Philip- her son- for being stupid, "Enthina karathave ente ee mudinja puthran oru prashnangalil chenn chadunne epozhum!"

Krithika was taken aback by the striking similarity between the woman present in front of her and Xavier's Amma. She looked almost the same as the painting of his mother- dusky complexion, thick long curly hair, and a sharp nose adored over full lips.

Except for the stunning brown eyes like Xavier's, this lady carried a pair of jet-black eyes. She looked old and beautiful, from the few wrinkles gracing her face and hair that was peppered with a few grey strands, Krithika placed her somewhere in her mid-fifties.

The lady opened the gate and came outside, all the while wiping her wet hands with her saree. Standing in front of Xavier's towering frame she continued, "How much Philip owes you?"

I guess your Philippu might be a headache for you Aunty, but he doesn't owe anything to my darling Xavier. It's you, Bincy Chitta, who owe him a lot.

A/N

'Kumbalangi Nights' was the first ever Malayalam movie that I watched. I had randomly played it in Prime, with no recommendation from any friend or anyone, and fell in love with everything about that movie.

This particular song is a constant in life, especially the lines- "Vazhiyorangal Thorum Thanalayee Padarchilla Nee, Kudayay Nivarnnu Nee, Novaaraathe Thoraathe Peyge..."

That is just awwww moment :)

Also,  thanks to @lazynerd2007 for helping me with the Malayalam stuff here, love you, dude, for being a constant reader and supporting me!
