It didn't go unnoticed to Xavier how hard she tried to not roll her eyes at him and muttered to herself again. Perhaps, she was cursing him, he thought. It was refreshing for him, to watch a feisty woman who challenged him. And he did imbibe on every second of it.

"Thanks.", she bit back as she added, "Sir."

Every time 'Sir' came so forcefully from her mouth as if he hadn't been her boss she would have called him a 'cunt'. Xavier thoroughly enjoyed this act of playing the bad guy, especially when he never had been a bad guy in his life. The negative shade on him made it quite interesting.

Satya was their angel, their savior, and him the devil.

"Also, here's your suspension for a week.", he eyed her, trying to decipher the rise in her temper, "I initially thought to do it for a month but I guess retraining would be more beneficial for you than being a stagnant sack of rice."

No, you did not think any of that.

He never wanted to suspend her for longer than a week for disciplinary reasons. It was surely a blunder from her side yet, he somehow knew that if she had known how serious the issue had been she would have never done that shit.

He waited; his gaze unwavering from her face. And he observed a little twitch in her jaw, so faint that he thought he had imagined that.

That's it?

"I am sorry for what I did last Friday.", she replied, her tone calm, "It's my fault, I shouldn't have been this irresponsible."

He was taken aback by her unexpected reply. He had anticipated her to cry- well, at least fight back. She was submitting to defeat!?

"You are okay about your suspension?", he asked, "This will look bad in your C.V."

"I made a mistake, I have to pay the price.", she pushed back her chair as she stood straight, "Thanks, sir.", she turned and started to walk towards the exit.

He called after her, "What about your argument with me?", he taunted, "Aren't you guilty for being disrespectful to me?"

She turned around and faced him, "Yes, I was disrespectful.", she replied, her face was sincere than ever. Her black eyes glittered with the truth; they pictured her hurt. He could see how expressive she was, an open book of emotions, "But you should be equally guilty for judging me as an imbecile.", she retorted.

"I never said that."

"You thought."

"You were late."

"By five minutes as I had forgotten to punch in those darn pages in the folder.", she huffed, "I asked you for forgiveness and you ignored it."

"And that gives you the right to insult me?", he held his cool as he watched her, her weight shifting from one leg to another, getting slightly agitated.

"You insulted me, my position here in the Xhasis, under you.", she looked at him, "I don't like when anyone questions my hard work."

His smile widened as he saw her rage peeking from her loosely controlled and calm facade.

"So, you take the liberty and call me 'the worst boss'?", he leaned forward supporting his weight on his elbows placed over the desk. Probably, he looked like a predator but his adorable prey didn't seem to faze from his intimidation.

There was a long moment of silence, they both held eye contact and he saw resolve in her eyes. He waited for her to say sorry, but none came.

"Sir, I have to leave, thanks for your time.", she replied to him and left.

His eyes widened and he guffawed in absolute shock.

She is something!
